बपतिस्मे के विषय कुछ कम समझी जाने वाली, असमंजस में डालने वाली, और परमेश्वर के वचन बाइबल की शिक्षाओं के आधार पर कुछ अस्वीकार्य धारणाओं को देखते हुए हमने देखा है कि बपतिस्मा केवल एक ही है, जो पानी में डुबकी के साथ दिया जाता है। साथ ही, न तो पवित्र आत्मा का बपतिस्मा बाइबल में कहीं लिखा गया है, और न ही कहीं उसे अलग से प्राप्त करने की कोई शिक्षा बाइबल में दी गई है। इसी से संबंधित एक और गलत शिक्षा है “आग का बपतिस्मा” जिसके बारे में हम आज के इस लेख में वचन की बातों के आधार पर देखेंगे।
आग और पानी का बपतिस्मा
मत्ती 3:11 में यूहन्ना द्वारा कही गई बात “वह तुम्हें पवित्र आत्मा और आग से बपतिस्मा देगा” को लेकर भी गलत शिक्षाएं और व्याख्या दी जाती है कि पवित्र आत्मा का बपतिस्मा, आग का बपतिस्मा है। इसे समझने के लिए एक बार फिर “से” शब्द के अर्थ, प्रयोग, और महत्व पर ध्यान कीजिए, साथ ही यहाँ प्रयुक्त संयोजक शब्द “और” का भी ध्यान रखिए। इस पद में यूहन्ना यह नहीं कह रहा है कि “वह तुम्हें पवित्र आत्मा अर्थात आग से बपतिस्मा देगा”, जैसा कि यह गलत शिक्षा देने वाले इस पद को लेकर कहते और सिखाते हैं। किन्तु वाक्य स्पष्ट है वरन “वह तुम्हें पवित्र आत्मा और आग से बपतिस्मा देगा” - यानि कि प्रभु के पास दो वस्तुओं, या दो माध्यमों से दिए जाने वाले बपतिस्मे हैं - एक तो पवित्र आत्मा से, और दूसरा आग से। जिन्होंने प्रभु यीशु को स्वीकार कर लिया, उस पर विश्वास कर लिया, अर्थात उद्धार पा लिया, उन्हें स्वतः ही, विश्वास करते ही तुरंत पवित्र आत्मा मिल जाएगा, अर्थात, जैसा हम पहले देख चुके हैं, पवित्र आत्मा से बपतिस्मा मिल जाएगा, जैसा कि प्रेरितों 1:5, तथा प्रेरितों 11:15-16 में लिखा और स्पष्ट किया गया है। जिन्होंने प्रभु को स्वीकार नहीं किया, उद्धार नहीं पाया, फिर वे अनन्त काल के लिए नरक की आग में डुबोए जाएंगे - उनके लिए फिर प्रभु के पास आग से बपतिस्मा है। नरक को बाइबल में एक “झील” कहा गया है, जिसमें शैतान और उसके अनुयायी अनन्तकाल के लिए डाल दिए जाएंगे, और पीड़ा में रहेंगे, “और उन का भरमाने वाला शैतान आग और गन्धक की उस झील में, जिस में वह पशु और झूठा भविष्यद्वक्ता भी होगा, डाल दिया जाएगा, और वे रात दिन युगानुयुग पीड़ा में तड़पते रहेंगे” (प्रकाशितवाक्य 20:10)। समस्त मानव जाति को इस भयंकर, अवर्णनीय, असहनीय पीड़ा से बचने का मार्ग और उपाय देने के लिए ही प्रभु यीशु मसीह स्वर्ग छोड़कर पृथ्वी पर आया था, और उसने हमें वह मार्ग बनाकर भी दिया। अब उसके द्वारा सेंतमेंत में, केवल उस पर लाए गए विश्वास के द्वारा दिए जाने वाले इस प्रयोजन को स्वीकार करना या न करना प्रत्येक का व्यक्तिगत निर्णय है।
प्रेरितों 17:30-31 में जैसा लिखा है, आज जो जगत का उद्धारकर्ता है, जगत के अंत के समय, वही प्रभु जगत का न्यायी भी होगा। प्रत्येक व्यक्ति द्वारा, अपने पृथ्वी के जीवन काल के समय में लिए गए निर्णय के अनुसार, जिसने प्रभु यीशु को अपना व्यक्तिगत उद्धारकर्ता ग्रहण किया है वह प्रभु के साथ स्वर्ग में जाएगा; किन्तु जिसने प्रभु यीशु को अस्वीकार किया है, वह अपने इस निर्णय के अनुसार, शैतान, जिसके साथ रहने का उसने निर्णय लिया है, के साथ नरक में जाएगा। तो हर एक व्यक्ति को प्रभु के हाथों इन दोनों माध्यमों में से एक न एक से बपतिस्मा मिलेगा - या तो पवित्र आत्मा से; अन्यथा आग से। इसीलिए प्रभु यीशु ने अपने शिष्यों को सचेत किया, “जो शरीर को घात करते हैं, पर आत्मा को घात नहीं कर सकते, उन से मत डरना; पर उसी से डरो, जो आत्मा और शरीर दोनों को नरक में नाश कर सकता है” (मत्ती 10:28)।
साथ ही ध्यान कीजिए, प्रेरितों 2:3 में, प्रभु के शिष्यों द्वारा पवित्र आत्मा को प्राप्त करने के विषय में लिखा है, “और उन्हें आग की सी जीभें फटती हुई दिखाई दीं; और उन में से हर एक पर आ ठहरीं”; किन्तु इस घटना - आग की जीभों का आकर प्रभु के शिष्यों पर ठहर जाना और फिर उन्हें पवित्र आत्मा की सामर्थ्य प्राप्त, को न तो यहाँ पर और न ही कभी कहीं अन्य किसी स्थान पर “पवित्र आत्मा की आग से बपतिस्मा” कहा गया। जब कि यदि पवित्र आत्मा का बपतिस्मा पाना और आग से बपतिस्मा पाना एक ही होते, तो यह सबसे उपयुक्त अवसर एवं घटना होती इस बात को दिखाने और प्रमाणित करने के लिए कि पवित्र आत्मा का बपतिस्मा, यूहन्ना बपतिस्मा देने वाले के द्वारा कहा गया वह आग का बपतिस्मा है। किन्तु बाइबल स्पष्ट है कि पवित्र आत्मा का बपतिस्मा है ही नहीं; और आग, पानी के समान, वह माध्यम है जिसमें उन्हें डाला जाएगा जिन्होंने प्रभु यीशु मसीह पर विश्वास नहीं किया है। उनके लिए यही वह आग का बपतिस्मा होगा।
यदि आप मसीही हैं, तो आपके लिए यह अनिवार्य है कि आप मनुष्यों की बनाई हुई रीतियों और प्रथाओं का नहीं, परमेश्वर के वचन का पालन करने वाले हों। क्योंकि अन्ततः आपका न्याय, मनुष्यों के द्वारा बनाई और धर्म-उपदेश करके सिखाई गई, मनुष्यों की बातों के आधार पर नहीं होगा। क्योंकि मनुष्यों द्वारा बनाए गए धर्मोपदेश न केवल व्यर्थ हैं (मत्ती 15:9) किन्तु हटा भी दिए जाएंगे (मत्ती 15:13)। सभी का न्याय प्रभु यीशु के द्वारा (प्रेरितों 17:30-31), उसके वचन की अटल और अपरिवर्तनीय बातों के आधार पर होगा (यूहन्ना 12:48)। इसलिए आपके लिए मनुष्यों को नहीं परमेश्वर को प्रसन्न करने वाला बनना अनिवार्य है, नहीं तो अनन्त जीवन में अनंतकाल की हानि उठानी पड़ेगी। अपने जीवन में गंभीरता से झांक कर देख लें, और जिन भी बातों को सही करना है, उन्हें अभी समय और अवसर रहते हुए सही कर लें; कहीं कल या “बाद में” पर टाल देने से बहुत विलंब और हानि न हो जाए।
यदि आपने प्रभु की शिष्यता को अभी तक स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी प्रभु यीशु के पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु, मैं अपने पापों के लिए पश्चातापी हूँ, उनके लिए आप से क्षमा माँगता हूँ। मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मुझे और मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी।

In view of some poorly understood, at times confusing, and Biblically unacceptable assumptions about baptism, we have seen that based on the teachings of the Bible, the Word of God, the only true baptism is the one which is given by immersing in water. Also, the baptism of the Holy Spirit is neither written anywhere in the Bible, nor is there any instruction in the Bible to receive it, separately. Another misconception related to this is the "baptism of fire," which we'll look at in today's article, based on the teachings of the Scriptures.
Baptism with Fire and Water
In Matthew 3:11, John's statement of "he will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire" is also misinterpreted and wrongly taught as the baptism of the Holy Spirit, i.e., the baptism of fire. To understand this, consider once again the meaning, usage, and significance of the word "with", as well as the conjunction "and" used here in this verse. In this verse John is not saying that "He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit, i.e., fire", as those giving wrong teachings say and teach about this verse. But the sentence is clear, but "He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire" - i.e., the Lord has baptisms, to be given by two mediums - one with the Holy Spirit, and the other with fire. Those who have accepted the Lord Jesus, believed in Him, are saved, they will automatically receive the Holy Spirit immediately upon believing, i.e., as we have seen earlier, will be baptized with the Holy Spirit, as It is written and explained in Acts 1:5, and Acts 11:15-16. Whereas those who do not accept the Lord, are not saved, they will be cast into the fire of hell for eternity - for them then the Lord has baptism with fire. Hell is called a "lake" in the Bible, in which Satan and his followers will be cast into, for eternity, and will be in torment, "The devil, who deceived them, was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone where the beast and the false prophet are. And they will be tormented day and night forever and ever" (Revelation 20:10). The Lord Jesus Christ left heaven and came to earth to give all of mankind a way and a deliverance out of this terrible, indescribable, unbearable pain, and He gave us that way as well. Now it is a personal decision of each person, whether or not to accept this provision made freely available by the Lord, only through the trust placed in him by any person.
As it is written in Acts 17:30-31, He, who is the Savior of the world today, at the time of the end of the world, the same Lord will also be the Judge of the world. Everyone who has received the Lord Jesus as his personal Savior will go to heaven with the Lord, according to the decision taken by each person during his earthly lifetime. But whoever rejects the Lord Jesus, will, according to his decision, go to hell with Satan, with whom he has decided to be. So, each person will be baptized by the Lord by one of these two mediums - either by the Holy Spirit; Otherwise by fire. That is why the Lord Jesus cautioned his disciples, “And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. But rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell” (Matthew 10:28).
Also note, in Acts 2:3, about the receiving of the Holy Spirit by the Lord's disciples, it is written, “Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them”; But this event—the coming of the tongues of fire and staying on the disciples of the Lord and then their receiving the power of the Holy Spirit—was never called "the baptism with the fire of the Holy Spirit", neither here nor anywhere else. Whereas if the baptism of the Holy Spirit and being baptized with fire were one and the same, this would be the most appropriate occasion and event to show and prove that the baptism of the Holy Spirit was the fire spoken by John the Baptist. But the Bible is clear that there is no baptism of the Holy Spirit; And fire, like water, is only a medium into which those who have not believed in the Lord Jesus Christ will be cast. That would be the baptism of fire for them.
If you are a Christian, it is essential for you to follow the Word of God, not the customs and traditions created by men. Because in the end, you will neither be judged by any man, nor on the basis of any man-made doctrines and teachings, all of which not only are vain (Matthew 15:9) but will also be taken away (Matthew 15:13). But everyone will be judged by the Lord Jesus (Acts 17:30-31), and only on the basis of His unalterable and firmly established Word (John 12:48). Therefore, it is necessary for you to be pleasing to God, instead of striving to please men; else you will have to suffer the loss of eternal life and eternity. Take a serious account of your life, and whatever things you need to rectify, do it right now, while you have the time and opportunity; procrastinating and postponing it for tomorrow or "later" may be very harmful.
If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord, make your decision in favor of the Lord Jesus now to ensure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. Where there is obedience to the Lord, where there is respect and obedience to His Word, there is also the blessing and protection of the Lord. Repenting of your sins, and asking the Lord Jesus for forgiveness of your sins, voluntarily and sincerely, surrendering yourself to Him - is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. You only have to say a short but sincere prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ willingly and with a penitent heart, and at the same time completely commit and submit your life to Him. You can also make this prayer and submission in words something like, “Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sins and repent of them. I thank you for taking my sins upon yourself, paying for them through your life. Because of them you died on the cross in my place, were buried, and you rose again from the grave on the third day for my salvation, and today you are the living Lord God and have freely provided to me the forgiveness, and redemption from my sins, through faith in you. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands." Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.
