आत्मिक वरदानों के प्रयोगकर्ता - चंगा करने वाले
मसीही विश्वासियों की मण्डली में उपयोगिता के क्रम के अनुसार, 1 कुरिन्थियों 12:28 में सामर्थ्य की काम के बाद दिया गया अगला वरदान है चंगा करने का वरदान। पिछले लेख में हमने सामर्थ्य के काम करने के विषय में बाइबल की शिक्षाओं को देखा था, और इस वरदान के उपयोग में भी परमेश्वर की आज्ञाकारिता और इस वरदान को परमेश्वर के वचन के अनुसार प्रयोग करने के महत्व को हमने देखा था। चंगा करने का वरदान भी सामर्थ्य के काम करने के वरदान के समान ही है, और इसके साथ भी सामर्थ्य के काम करने के वरदान से संबंधित वचन की शिक्षाएं लागू होती हैं। हम प्रभु यीशु मसीह के जीवन और सेवकाई से देखते हैं कि प्रभु ने बहुत से लोगों को, उनकी विभिन्न प्रकार की बीमारियों से और दुष्टात्माओं द्वारा ग्रसित होने, सताए जाने से चंगाइयाँ दीं। प्रभु की सेवकाई को संक्षिप्त करके प्रेरितों के काम पुस्तक में लिखा गया है, “कि परमेश्वर ने किस रीति से यीशु नासरी को पवित्र आत्मा और सामर्थ्य से अभिषेक किया: वह भलाई करता, और सब को जो शैतान के सताए हुए थे, अच्छा करता फिरा; क्योंकि परमेश्वर उसके साथ था” (प्रेरितों 10:38)। जब प्रभु ने शिष्यों को सेवकाई पर भेजा, तब भी उन्हें सुसमाचार प्रचार के साथ चंगा करने की सामर्थ्य भी दी (मत्ती 10:1; लूका 10:1, 9); और अपने स्वर्गारोहण से पहले शिष्यों को दी सुसमाचार प्रचार की सेवकाई की महान आज्ञा के साथ भी लोगों को चंगा करने और दुष्टात्माओं से छुटकारा देने की सामर्थ्य भी प्रदान की (मरकुस 16:17-18)।
अर्थात, स्वयं प्रभु की सेवकाई में, और उनकी आज्ञा तथा उनके द्वारा दी गई सामर्थ्य में उनके शिष्यों द्वारा की जाने वाली सेवकाई में भी लोगों को चंगा करने और दुष्टात्माओं से छुटकारा देने का एक महत्वपूर्ण स्थान था; और आज भी है। प्रभु की वही सामर्थ्य जो तब उन आरंभिक शिष्यों और मसीही विश्वासियों में होकर कार्य करती थी, वही आज भी, वैसे ही प्रभु के निर्धारित शिष्यों के जीवनों में कार्य करती है, उन्हें इस सेवकाई को करने के लिए सक्षम करती है। रोगों और दुष्टात्माओं से चंगा करना परमेश्वर पिता द्वारा कुछ मसीही विश्वासियों के लिए निर्धारित सेवकाई है, और उनको परमेश्वर पवित्र आत्मा द्वारा प्रदान किया जाने वाला आत्मिक वरदान भी है। किन्तु साथ ही दो महत्वपूर्ण बातें भी हमें ध्यान रखनी चाहिएं; पहली बात, प्रभु ने सुसमाचारों में अपने आने के विभिन्न उद्देश्य बताए, जैसे कि, प्रचार करने के लिए (मरकुस 1:38), पापियों को पश्चाताप के लिए बुलाने के लिए (मरकुस 2:17; लूका 5:32), परमेश्वर पिता की इच्छा पूरी करने के लिए (यूहन्ना 6:38), न्याय के लिए (यूहन्ना 9:39), बहुतायत का जीवन देने के लिए (यूहन्ना 10:10), ज्योति देने के लिए (यूहन्ना 12:46), सत्य की गवाही देने के लिए (यूहन्ना 18:37), इत्यादि। किन्तु अपने आने के उद्देश्यों में उन्होंने कभी यह नहीं कहा कि मैं चंगाई और दुष्टात्माओं से छुटकारा देने के लिए आया हूँ, जबकि उन्होंने यह बहुतायत से किया। और दूसरी बात, अपनी महान आज्ञा में प्रभु ने शिष्यों को चंगाइयों की सामर्थ्य अवश्य दी, किन्तु भेजा संसार भर में सुसमाचार सुनाने के लिए (मत्ती 28:18-20; प्रेरितों 1:8); यह नहीं कहा कि जाकर चंगा करो और लोगों को दुष्टात्माओं से छुड़ाओ। और यह उस समय में जब चिकित्सा-विज्ञान उन्नत नहीं था, रोगों के निदान और उपचार के साधन या समझ-बूझ नहीं थी, और लोग अंदाज़े से ही औरों को ‘चंगा’ करते थे, रोगियों को चंगा करने वालों की बहुत आवश्यकता थी।
इन दोनों बातों से हम क्या शिक्षा ले सकते हैं? शारीरिक चंगाइयाँ प्रभु ने भी दीं, उनके शिष्यों ने भी दीं, और मृतकों को भी जिलाया; और आज भी प्रभु की निर्धारित सेवकाइयों में तथा पवित्र आत्मा के वरदानों में लोगों को शारीरिक चंगाइयां देने तथा दुष्टात्माओं से छुड़ाने की भूमिका है, और परमेश्वर की सामर्थ्य से यह होता भी है। किन्तु प्राथमिक महत्व और उद्देश्य लोगों में सुसमाचार प्रचार तथा परमेश्वर के वचन की सही शिक्षा दिए जाने का है। चंगाई देना मुख्य उद्देश्य नहीं है, वरन सुसमाचार प्रचार के साथ किया जाने वाला कार्य है। ध्यान कीजिए, यूहन्ना 14 और 16 अध्याय में प्रभु यीशु द्वारा शिष्यों को पवित्र आत्मा के बारे में शिक्षाएं दी गई थीं, उनमें कहीं यह नहीं कहा गया था कि वह लोगों को चंगाइयाँ देगा और दुष्टात्माओं को निकालेगा। किन्तु इसकी तुलना में, आज हम पवित्र आत्मा के नाम से गलत शिक्षाएं देने वालों की शिक्षाओं में पवित्र आत्मा द्वारा शारीरिक चंगाइयों का एक बहुत प्रमुख और सुसमाचार प्रचार से भी अधिक महत्वपूर्ण स्थान पाते हैं। वे लोगों को चंगाइयों के नाम से आकर्षित करने, सभाओं में आने के लिए चंगाइयों के लालच में डालकर लाने के प्रयास करते हैं। क्या आपने कभी बाइबल में कहीं पर भी “चंगाई सभाएं” आयोजित किए जाने का कोई उदाहरण देखा है, जैसा आज बहुतायत से किया जाता है? क्या आपने बाइबल में प्रभु के शिष्यों को “चंगा करने वाला” की उपाधि के साथ प्रसिद्ध होने का कोई उदाहरण पढ़ा है, जैसा आज बहुधा इन गलत शिक्षाएं देने वालों में देखा जाता है? बाइबल से उदाहरण ढूँढने को तो छोड़िए, क्या आरंभिक कलीसिया के इतिहास में, प्रभु के प्रेरितों अथवा आरंभिक शिष्यों द्वारा किए गए संसार भर में सुसमाचार प्रचार में क्या इस प्रकार चंगाई सभाओं और चंगाई को लेकर प्रसिद्धि की बात पाई जाती है? और जितनी प्रभावी एवं व्यापक रीति से, अनेकों प्रकार के कष्ट, कठिनाइयों, और सताव को सहते हुए उन आरंभिक शिष्यों ने संसार भर में सुसमाचार प्रचार किया था, उतना ये चंगाई की दुकानें चलाने वाले कभी नहीं करने पाए हैं। उलटे, आज उनकी ये चंगाई सभाएं और प्रसिद्धि वास्तविक सुसमाचार प्रचार के लिए एक बहुत बड़ी बाधा और विरोध का कारण बनी हुई है।
साथ ही यह भी ध्यान रखिए कि जैसे पिछले लेख में हमने आश्चर्यकर्मों, चिह्नों, और चमत्कारों के विषय देखा था, उसी प्रकार से चंगाई केवल परमेश्वर पवित्र आत्मा के वरदान द्वारा ही नहीं है। आज भी हर इलाके में आपको हर गैर-मसीही आराधना स्थल के साथ जुड़े हुए लोगों द्वारा चंगाई पाने, या उनकी समस्याओं का निवारण हो जाने, आदि के दावे और उदाहरण मिलेंगे। उन गैर-मसीही आराधना स्थलों से भी लोगों ने शारीरिक चंगाई और सुख-समृद्धि प्राप्त की है; किन्तु वहाँ से कभी किसी ने पापों की क्षमा, उद्धार, तथा परमेश्वर की संतान होने का अधिकार कभी प्राप्त नहीं किया है। चंगाई चाहे किसी मसीही के द्वारा मिले अथवा किसी गैर-मसीही के द्वारा, अंततः, एक दिन हर व्यक्ति को अपनी यह देह छोड़कर प्रभु यीशु के सामने खड़े होना ही है (प्रेरितों 17:30-31)। उस दिन उसकी यह चंगाई उसके किस काम की होगी, यदि उसने चंगाई तो पाई किन्तु सुसमाचार नहीं? और जिसे शारीरिक लालच के द्वारा प्रभु यीशु के पास लाने का प्रयत्न किया गया, वह प्रभु यीशु के अनन्तकालीन आत्मिक महत्व को कैसे समझेगा, क्योंकि उसके सामने तो शारीरिक बातों को ही प्रमुख किया गया, उन्हीं का महत्व दिखाया गया।
यदि आप एक मसीही विश्वासी हैं, तो ध्यान से जाँचिए और समझिए कि प्रभु आप से क्या चाहता है। प्रभु आज भी अपने शिष्यों में होकर अपनी सामर्थ्य प्रकट करता है, चंगाई देता है; किन्तु उन्हीं के द्वारा जिनके लिए उसने यह सेवकाई ठहराई है, और जो इसका निर्वाह प्रभु के निर्देशों के अनुसार, प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता में प्रभु की महिमा तथा सुसमाचार प्रचार के लिए करते हैं। न कि इस सेवकाई और वरदान को स्वार्थ-सिद्धि और सांसारिक संपत्ति जमा करने का साधन बनाते हैं, और न ही तमाशा बनाकर लोगों में प्रभु के नाम पर उँगलियाँ उठाने और लांछन लगाने के अवसर देते हैं, सुसमाचार प्रचार में बाधाएं उत्पन्न करते हैं। परमेश्वर के वचन के प्रचार, शिक्षा, और उसकी आज्ञाकारिता का स्थान सदा ही आश्चर्यकर्मों, चिह्नों, चमत्कारों, और चंगाइयों के कार्यों से पहले रहा है, और रहेगा। प्रभु और उसके शिष्यों ने पहले वचन और सुसमाचार को अपने जीवन से जी कर दिखाया, फिर उसका प्रचार किया, और उसके बाद ही आश्चर्यकर्मों, चिह्नों, चमत्कारों, और चंगाइयों के कार्यों को किया (मरकुस 3:13-15)। यही बाइबल का स्थापित क्रम है, और इसी क्रम के अनुसार करने से ही परमेश्वर की महिमा होगी।
यदि आपने प्रभु की शिष्यता को अभी तक स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी प्रभु यीशु के पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी।

Users of the Gifts of the Holy Spirit - Gifts of Healing
In context of their relative frequency of being used in the Christian Assemblies, in the list given in 1 Corinthians 12:28, the next gift is the gift of healing. In the previous article we had seen the Biblical teachings about the gift of doing miracles and had seen the necessity of using this gift as per God’s instructions, and of being obedient to God’s Word. The gift of healing is similar to the gift of doing miracles, and the Biblical teachings related to the gift of doing miracles are also applicable to the gift of healing. We see from the life and ministry of the Lord Jesus Christ that the Lord healed many people from various ailments and demon possessions, those being tormented by demons. The Lord’s ministry has been summarized into one verse in the Book of Acts “how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him” (Acts 10:38). When the Lord Jesus, during His earthly ministry, sent His disciples for their gospel preaching ministry, He gave them the power to heal people (Matthew 10:1, 9); and in the Great Commission He gave to the disciples before His ascension, He gave them the power to heal people and cast out evil spirits (Mark 16:17-18).
The implication is that in the ministry of the Lord Jesus, as well as the ministry of His disciples to be carried out in obedience to Him and through the power He gives, healing of physical ailments and casting out evil spirits has a major role, then as well as now. The same power of the Lord Jesus which worked through the initial disciples and Christian Believers, similarly works in and through the disciples designated for this ministry, and enables them to carry it out, just the same. To heal people from ailments and cast out evil spirits is a Spiritual ministry assigned to some Christian Believers by God, and they receive the required Spiritual gift for carrying it out from God the Holy Spirit. But along with this, two other important things also need to be kept in mind. The first is that in the Gospel accounts, the Lord Jesus had told about the purposes of His coming to earth, e.g., to preach (Mark 1:38); to call sinners to repentance (Mark 2:17; Luke 5:32); to fulfill God the Father’s will (John 6:38); for judgment (John 9:39); to give an abundant life (John 10:10); to give light to the world (John 12:46); to testify of the truth (John 18:37) etc. But never ever throughout His earthly ministry did the Lord Jesus ever say that one of the purposes of His coming to earth was to heal people and cast out demons, although He did both of these abundantly. The second thing, although in His Great Commission to His disciples He did give them the power to heal people and cast out demons, but the primary purpose of His sending them out into the world was not to heal and cast out demons, but to preach the Gospel (Matthew 28:18-20; Acts 1:8). Whereas this was at a time when all over the world medical science was very rudimentary, people did not know anything significant about diagnosing and treating ailments, most of medical treatment was by conjecture, and so there was a dire need all over the world of people being healed from various diseases; but still the primacy given by the Lord was to preach the Gospel, the rest were things of secondary importance.
What can we infer from both of these things? The Lord Jesus healed people, and His disciples too healed people, and both even brought back the dead to life; and even today amongst the Spiritual gifts given by God the Holy Spirit there is a place for healings and casting out evil spirits; and this happens even today by the power of God. But the primary importance is of preaching the gospel, and imparting the factual teachings of God’s Word. Healing people is not the primary or main purpose, it is something to be done along with preaching the of the gospel, not superseding it. Recall that in John chapters 14 and 16 where the Lord Jesus has given various teachings about the Holy Spirit to His disciples, He never said that the Holy Spirit will also heal people and cast out evil spirits. But today, in stark contrast, we see that those who preach and teach false doctrines and wrong teachings about the Holy Spirit, they place a great importance upon physical healings, even more than of preaching the gospel. They try to attract and entice people to their meetings for physical healings. Have you ever seen any example of “Healing meetings” being held anywhere by anyone, in the Bible; as happens so very often today? Did you ever find in the Bible that the Lord’s disciples were made famous by giving them the title of a “Healer”, as happens so very often today amongst these preachers and teachers of wrong things? Let alone finding any example in the Bible, even in the history of the initial Christian Assemblies, in the accounts of the ministries of the Apostles and the initial followers of the Lord Jesus, from all over the world, is there any record of organizing “Healing meetings” and gaining name and fame as a “Healer”? Yet, these people engaged in running these “healing” shops and services, have never been able to match the effectiveness, appeal, popularity, and acceptance of the gospel message carried out by the Lord’s followers, despite suffering so many problems, persecutions and difficulties in primarily preaching the gospel. On the contrary, these “healing meetings” and services and their publicity have become a big reason for obstructing and opposing the preaching of the gospel, instead of helping it.
Also do bear in mind that, as we had seen in the previous article about miracles, signs, and wonders, that these things are not done only through the power of God, similarly healings too are not done only by the power of God the Holy Spirit. Today, in every place of the world you will find non-Christian religious places of various religions of the world, and with each and every such religious place you will also find stories, claims, and examples of super-natural healings, resolution of problems, granting of desires and prayers by the deity of that religious place. While many people may have received physical healings, resolution of many problems, worldly wealth and prosperity etc., from those religious places and through the deity of that place; but no one has ever received the forgiveness of sins, salvation, and the right to be a child of God from these places and their deities. Whether a person is healed by a Christian Believer, or a non-Christian, but eventually everyone will have to leave this body and stand before the Lord Jesus to be judged (Acts 17:30-31). On that day, at that time, of what use will be the healing he had received, if he has not heard and received the gospel? Moreover, the person who has been enticed by things like physical healing and worldly prosperity through the Lord Jesus and made to believe in them, how will he understand the vanity of these temporal things and the relevance and importance of eternal Spiritual benefits given by the Lord? Because he has only heard of, received, and believed in only these temporal benefits in the name of the Lord, not the eternal Spiritual blessings and benefits.
If you are a Christian Believer, then consider and discern very carefully what the Lord expects of you and wants from you. The Lord shows His power through His disciples even today and heals people; but through them who have been given this gift of the Holy Spirit, and who use this gift in obedience to the Lord’s instructions, for glorifying the Lord and spreading His gospel. Beware of those who use this gift as a means of fulfilling selfish desires, acquiring and accumulating worldly wealth and things, use the name of the Lord for gaining temporal prosperity; and also, beware of those who use this gift for public exhibitions, and give people an opportunity to slander and belittle the name of the Lord and create problems for spreading the gospel message. The place of preaching and teaching the Word of God, and obedience to God and His Word always has been, and will always remain over and above miracles, signs, wonders, healings etc. The Lord and His disciples first lived out and demonstrated through their lives the Word of God and His gospel, then preached and taught it, and only after that did they carry out miracles, healings, signs, and wonders, as per the Lord’s instructions and in obedience to Him (Mark 3:13-15). This is the Biblically established sequence, and God is pleased and glorified only when things are done the way He has shown them to be done.
If you are still thinking of yourself as being a Christian, a child of God, entitled to a place in heaven, because of being born in a particular family and having fulfilled the religious rites and rituals prescribed under your religion or denomination since your childhood, then you too need to come out of your misunderstanding of Biblical facts and start learning, understanding, and living according to what the Word of God says, instead of what any denominational creed says or teaches. Make the necessary corrections in your life now while you have the time and opportunity; lest by the time you realize your mistake, it is too late to do anything about it.
If you are still not Born Again, have not obtained salvation, or have not asked the Lord Jesus for forgiveness for your sins, then you have the opportunity to do so right now. A short prayer said voluntarily with a sincere heart, with heartfelt repentance for your sins, and a fully submissive attitude, “Lord Jesus, I confess that I have disobeyed You, and have knowingly or unknowingly, in mind, in thought, in attitude, and in deeds, committed sins. I believe that you have fully borne the punishment of my sins by your sacrifice on the cross, and have paid the full price of those sins for all eternity. Please forgive my sins, change my heart and mind towards you, and make me your disciple, take me with you." God longs for your company and wants to see you blessed, but to make this possible, is your personal decision. Will you not say this prayer now, while you have the time and opportunity to do so - the decision is yours.
