इब्रानियों 6:1-2 में दी गई आरम्भिक बातों में से छठी बात, “अंतिम न्याय” के हमारे इस अध्ययन में, पिछले लेखों में हमने देखा है कि पाप का यह दूसरा प्रभाव, जब तक हम इस पापमय शरीर में हैं, हमारे लिए दुःख, परेशानी, परिश्रम को बनाए रखेगा; लेकिन इस में होकर भी परमेश्वर के हमारे लिए कुछ लाभकारी उद्देश्य हैं। जब परमेश्वर ने पाप के परिणाम स्वरूप जीवन भर का दुःख, पीड़ा, और परिश्रम मनुष्य के जीवन में आने दिया, तो यह उसकी अनाज्ञाकारिता करने के लिए केवल दण्ड देने का तरीका नहीं था; बल्कि परमेश्वर ने एक तरीका तैयार किया था, जो मनुष्य को उसकी निकटता में आने के लिए उकसाएगा और उसे कुछ लाभ भी प्रदान करेगा। अभी तक हम दुःख उठाने के तीन लाभकारी उद्देश्यों को देख चुके हैं, पहला, यह न केवल हमारे अन्दर न्याय होने की निहित इच्छा - बुराई के बदले दण्ड मिलने की भावना को शान्त करता है, बल्कि हमें शरीर की अभिलाषाओं के अनुसार जीवन जीना छोड़कर, परमेश्वर की महिमा के लिए जीवन जीने के लिए तैयार करता है। दूसरा, कभी-कभी दुःख उठाना परमेश्वर की योजना में होता है, और उन लोगों के जीवनों के उदाहरणों के द्वारा, जिन्होंने दुःख उठाए हैं, परमेश्वर औरों के जीवनों में काम करता है और उन्हें अपनी ओर आकर्षित करता है। तीसरा, जैसे हमने पिछले लेख में देखा था, जब हम दुःख और परीक्षाओं में से होकर निकलते हैं, परमेश्वर उनके द्वारा हमें काटता-छाँटता, रगड़ता और चमकाता है, और अपने योग्य पात्र बनाता है, जो इस पृथ्वी पर अपने जीवन में उसकी महिमा करते और उसकी गवाही देते हैं। अब हम इन दुःखों और परिश्रम के द्वारा मिलने वाले एक और पक्ष को देखेंगे, अर्थात शारीरिक तथा स्वर्गीय और अनन्तकालीन लाभ। परमेश्वर का वचन बाइबल हमें सिखाता है कि नया-जन्म पाए हुए मसीही विश्वासियों, परमेश्वर की सन्तानों के लिए दुःख, परिश्रम, और परीक्षाएं शारीरिक, आत्मिक, और स्वर्गीय लाभ लाते हैं। हम इन तीनों प्रकार के लाभों से सम्बन्धित बाइबल के खण्डों को देखेंगे – और इसका बाइबल के विपरीत प्रचार की जाने वाली “सुसमाचार प्रचार से समृद्धि” (“Prosperity Gospel”) के साथ कोई लेना-देना नहीं है।
हम मत्ती 10:16-39 में देखते हैं कि प्रभु यीशु ने अपने शिष्यों को उसके पीछे चलने की कीमत के बारे में बताया। इस खण्ड में प्रभु अपने शिष्यों को यह चेतावनी भी देता है कि उनके अपने परिवार के लोग उनके विरुद्ध खड़े हो जाएँगे, और उन्हें अपनी प्राथमिकताएँ निर्धारित करनी पड़ेंगी “मैं तो आया हूं, कि मनुष्य को उसके पिता से, और बेटी को उस की मां से, और बहू को उस की सास से अलग कर दूं। मनुष्य के बैरी उसके घर ही के लोग होंगे। जो माता या पिता को मुझ से अधिक प्रिय जानता है, वह मेरे योग्य नहीं और जो बेटा या बेटी को मुझ से अधिक प्रिय जानता है, वह मेरे योग्य नहीं” (मत्ती 10:35-37)। प्रभु के कहे का अर्थ है कि उसके पीछे चलने वालों को तय करना पड़ जाएगा कि वे उसके पीछे चलेंगे, या फिर उसका इन्कार करके अपने परिवार, मित्रों और साथियों के साथ बने रहेंगे।
इस बात को ध्यान में रखते हुए, अमीर जवान अधिकारी के साथ की घटना (मत्ती 19:16-22; मरकुस 10:17-22; लूका 18:18-25) होने के बाद, प्रभु द्वारा अपने शिष्यों से कही गई एक और बात पर ध्यान दीजिए। प्रभु के साथ हुई बात-चीत के बाद, प्रभु के पीछे चलने की कीमत को सुनकर, वह जवान प्रभु के पास से निराश होकर लौट गया। उसके बाद प्रभु की अपने शिष्यों के साथ इसके बारे में चर्चा हुई (मत्ती 19:23-29; मरकुस 10:23-31; लूका 18:26-30)। इस चर्चा में हम उन प्रतिज्ञाओं को देखते हैं जो प्रभु ने उनके लिए दीं, जो उसके पीछे चलने की कीमत चुकाने को तैयार हैं, प्रभु के लिए परिवार और प्रिय जनों को भी छोड़ने को तैयार हैं:
· मत्ती 19: 28-29 “यीशु ने उन से कहा, मैं तुम से सच कहता हूं, कि नई सृष्टि में जब मनुष्य का पुत्र अपनी महिमा के सिंहासन पर बैठेगा, तो तुम भी जो मेरे पीछे हो लिये हो, बारह सिंहासनों पर बैठकर इस्राएल के बारह गोत्रों का न्याय करोगे। और जिस किसी ने घरों या भाइयों या बहिनों या पिता या माता या लड़के-बालों या खेतों को मेरे नाम के लिये छोड़ दिया है, उसको सौ गुना मिलेगा: और वह अनन्त जीवन का अधिकारी होगा।”
· मरकुस 10:29-30 “यीशु ने कहा, मैं तुम से सच कहता हूं, कि ऐसा कोई नहीं, जिसने मेरे और सुसमाचार के लिये घर या भाइयों या बहिनों या माता या पिता या लड़के-बालों या खेतों को छोड़ दिया हो। और अब इस समय सौ गुणा न पाए, घरों और भाइयों और बहिनों और माताओं और लड़के-बालों और खेतों को पर उपद्रव के साथ और परलोक में अनन्त जीवन।”
· लूका 18:29-30 “उसने उन से कहा; मैं तुम से सच कहता हूं, कि ऐसा कोई नहीं जिसने परमेश्वर के राज्य के लिये घर या पत्नी या भाइयों या माता पिता या लड़के-बालों को छोड़ दिया हो। और इस समय कई गुणा अधिक न पाए; और परलोक में अनन्त जीवन।”
जैसा हम उपरोक्त खण्डों से देखते हैं, प्रभु के पीछे चलने के लिए दुःख उठाने के वर्तमान में शारीरिक लाभ भी हैं, और स्वर्गीय भी। शारीरिक लाभों के लिए, मरकुस एक वाक्यांश जोड़ देता है “उपद्रव के साथ” जो कुछ लोगों को अस्वीकार्य प्रतीत हो सकता है। लेकिन इस बात पर शारीरिक या भौतिक लाभ कमाने के लिए की जाने वाली नौकरियों, व्यापार, या अन्य किसी भी व्यवसाय के सन्दर्भ में विचार कीजिए। इस पृथ्वी पर कमाने के लिए की जाने वाली कोई भी नौकरी, व्यापार, या व्यवसाय, क्या बिना अपने ही विभिन्न प्रकार के दुःखों अथवा परेशानियों के है? क्योंकि उनके साथ कुछ दुःख और परेशानियाँ जुड़ी हुई हैं, क्या इसलिए लोग उन कामों को नहीं करते हैं? क्या लोग इन बातों को उस काम के साथ में जुड़ा हुआ स्वीकार करके, उसमें परिश्रम नहीं करते हैं, और भी बेहतर काम करने, काम में उन्नति करने के प्रयास नहीं करते हैं? इसलिए यदि हम सँसार और सँसार के लोगों के लिए दुःख उठाने को तैयार रहते हैं, कि उन से हमें कुछ भौतिक लाभ मिल सकें, तो फिर प्रभु के लिए काम करने में संकोच क्यों करना? साथ ही, क्या कभी किसी नौकरी देने वाले ने अपने कर्मचारियों को यह निश्चित प्रस्ताव दिया है कि वे उसके लिए जो भी प्रयास करेंगे, बदले में वह उन्हें उसका सौ गुणा देगा? लेकिन प्रभु यीशु हमें सौ गुणा लौटा कर देने का आश्वासन देता है, हर उस बात के लिए जिसका जोखिम हम उसके लिए उठाने के लिए तैयार हैं, जो कुछ भी हम उसके लिए छोड़ने के लिए तैयार हैं। लेकिन फिर भी बहुत कम लोग हैं जो प्रभु की बात को मानने और पालन करने के लिए तैयार हैं, हर कीमत पर उसके पीछे चलने के लिए तैयार हैं। इस प्रकार हम वचन से देखते हैं कि पर प्रभु के लिए काम करने, अर्थात, उसकी इच्छा और निर्देशों के अनुसार काम करने के लिए दुःख उठाना, यहाँ इस पृथ्वी पर भी शारीरिक और भौतिक लाभ प्रदान करता है।

यदि आपने प्रभु की शिष्यता को अभी तक स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी प्रभु यीशु के पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु, मैं अपने पापों के लिए पश्चातापी हूँ, उनके लिए आप से क्षमा माँगता हूँ। मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मुझे और मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी।

God’s Forgiveness and Justice – 15
Remembrance of Sin Forgiven and Forgotten - 7
In this study on “Eternal Judgement,” the sixth elementary principle in Hebrews 6:1-2, in the previous articles we have seen that the second effect of sin, i.e., life long suffering and toil while we are in this physical body with a sin nature, has some God given and beneficial purposes in our lives. When God allowed lifelong pain, suffering and toil for sinful man as a consequence for sin, it was not merely an act of retribution for disobeying Him; but of creating a mechanism that would help man draw near to Him, and to also give man some other benefits. We have already seen three beneficial purposes of this suffering, firstly suffering not only pacifies our inherent sense of justice against those who do wrongs, but it also prepares us to forego living for the lusts of the flesh and start living for the glory of God. Secondly, suffering at times is in the will of God, and through the examples of His people who have suffered, God teaches and does works in the lives of others, to draw them to Him. Thirdly, as we saw in the last article, as we pass through sufferings and trials, God cuts and prunes, polishes and refines us through them, making us His worthy vessels that glorify Him and witness for Him through their lives on this earth. We will now see another aspect that these sufferings and toil bring; i.e., earthly as well as heavenly and eternal benefits. God’s Word, the Bible teaches us that the sufferings, toil and testing of the Born-Again Christian Believers, the children of God, brings them physical, spiritual, and heavenly benefits. We will look at Biblical passages in support of each of these three types of benefits. Today we will look at the passages in support of the physical benefits – and this has nothing to do with the preaching of the unBiblical “Prosperity Gospel.”
We see in Matthew 10:16-39, the Lord Jesus tells His disciples what the cost of following Him is. In this passage He also warns them, that their own family members will rise up against them, and they will have to decide their priorities “For I have come to 'set a man against his father, a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law'; and 'a man's enemies will be those of his own household.' He who loves father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me. And he who loves son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me” (Matthew 10:35-37). Thereby implying that His followers will be brought into situations of having to make a choice between following the Lord, or denying Him and staying with their family, relatives, and friends.
With this in mind, consider another thing that the Lord said to His disciples, following the incidence of the Rich Young Ruler (Matthew 19:16-22; Mark 10:17-22; Luke 18:18-25). After his conversation with the Lord Jesus, and after the young man had returned disappointed at the demand of following the Lord, the Lord had a conversation about him with His disciples (Matthew 19:23-29; Mark 10:23-31; Luke 18:26-30). Let us look at what the Lord Jesus promises those who are willing to pay the cost of following Him, even forsaking their families and loved ones:
· Matthew 19:28-29 “So Jesus said to them, "Assuredly I say to you, that in the regeneration, when the Son of Man sits on the throne of His glory, you who have followed Me will also sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel. And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife or children or lands, for My name's sake, shall receive a hundredfold, and inherit eternal life.”
· Mark 10:29-30 “So Jesus answered and said, "Assuredly, I say to you, there is no one who has left house or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife or children or lands, for My sake and the gospel's, who shall not receive a hundredfold now in this time--houses and brothers and sisters and mothers and children and lands, with persecutions--and in the age to come, eternal life.”
· Luke 18:29-30 “So He said to them, "Assuredly, I say to you, there is no one who has left house or parents or brothers or wife or children, for the sake of the kingdom of God, who shall not receive many times more in this present time, and in the age to come eternal life."”
As we see from the above passages, suffering for following the Lord has both earthly benefits, in this present time, as well as heavenly benefits. Mark, in relation to the earthly benefits adds a phrase “with persecutions,” which might put off some people. But consider this in context of the jobs and business, or any other thing that people do to earn earthly benefits. Is any job, business, or any other means of earning on this earth without its own pains and problems of various kinds? Do people stop working their jobs or doing business, or whatever they are doing for earthly benefits, simply because it has its share of problems? Don’t people take these problems in their stride, toil in them, and strive to earn and do better? So, if we can put up with the world and worldly people, and are willing to suffer for earthly gains from them, then why be reluctant to work for the Lord, because there will be pains and problems? Moreover, has any employer, ever guaranteed his employees a hundredfold return on their efforts for him? But the Lord Jesus guarantees a hundred-fold return on whatever we put on the line for Him, whatever we are willing to forego to work for Him; and yet there are only a few who are willing take the Lord Jesus at His Word, and follow Him whole heartedly at any cost. Therefore, we see from God’s Word, that willingness to suffer for working for the Lord, i.e., for working according to His will and directions, brings with it physical and temporal benefits as well, here on earth.
In the next we will look at the spiritual benefits, here on earth, that come with sufferings.
If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord, make your decision in favor of the Lord Jesus now to ensure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. Where there is obedience to the Lord, where there is respect and obedience to His Word, there is also the blessing and protection of the Lord. Repenting of your sins, and asking the Lord Jesus for forgiveness of your sins, voluntarily and sincerely, surrendering yourself to Him - is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. You only have to say a short but sincere prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ willingly and with a penitent heart, and at the same time completely commit and submit your life to Him. You can also make this prayer and submission in words something like, “Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sins and repent of them. I thank you for taking my sins upon yourself, paying for them through your life. Because of them you died on the cross in my place, were buried, and you rose again from the grave on the third day for my salvation, and today you are the living Lord God and have freely provided to me the forgiveness, and redemption from my sins, through faith in you. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands." Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.
