पाप का समाधान - उद्धार - 13

    हमने उद्धार से संबंधित तीसरे और सबसे महत्वपूर्ण प्रश्न कि “इसके लिए यह इतना आवश्यक क्यों हुआ कि स्वयं परमेश्वर प्रभु यीशु को स्वर्ग छोड़कर सँसार में बलिदान होने के लिए आना पड़ा?” पर विचार करते हुए पिछले लेख में देखा है कि परमेश्वर द्वारा उपलब्ध करवाए गए समाधान के लिए जिस पवित्र और सिद्ध मनुष्य की आवश्यकता थी, वह मनुष्यों के जन्म और जीवन की प्रणाली के अनुसार पाया जाना असंभव था। उसका पृथ्वी पर आना और अस्तित्व अलौकिक विधि से ही संभव हो सकता था, और परमेश्वर ने ही यह प्रावधान करके दिया; उस प्रावधान के लिए आवश्यक सिद्ध मनुष्य के जन्म और जीवन से संबंधित सभी अनिवार्य गुण प्रभु यीशु मसीह में हैं। परमेश्वर का पुत्र, प्रभु यीशु मसीह, मनुष्यों के पापों के लिए बलिदान होने के लिए, अपने परमेश्वरत्व की सामर्थ्य, वैभव और महिमा को छोड़कर, एक साधारण और सामान्य मनुष्य बनकर इस संसार में आ गया “जैसा मसीह यीशु का स्वभाव था वैसा ही तुम्हारा भी स्वभाव हो। जिसने परमेश्वर के स्वरूप में हो कर भी परमेश्वर के तुल्य होने को अपने वश में रखने की वस्तु न समझा। वरन अपने आप को ऐसा शून्य कर दिया, और दास का स्वरूप धारण किया, और मनुष्य की समानता में हो गया। और मनुष्य के रूप में प्रगट हो कर अपने आप को दीन किया, और यहां तक आज्ञाकारी रहा, कि मृत्यु, हां, क्रूस की मृत्यु भी सह ली” (फिलिप्पियों 2:5-8)।

    यद्यपि प्रभु यीशु मसीह त्रिएक परमेश्वर का दूसरा व्यक्तित्व, परमेश्वर पुत्र है, किन्तु, जैसा उपरोक्त बाइबल खंड से प्रकट है, पृथ्वी पर मनुष्य बनकर जन्म लेने में उन्होंने अपने आप को ईश्वरीय नहीं वरन मानवीय स्वरूप एवं व्यवहार के अंतर्गत कर लिया, और एक साधारण मनुष्य समान ही जीवन व्यतीत किया:

• उन्होंने एक सामान्य शिशु के समान जन्म लिया, और अन्य बच्चों के समान ही उनका पालन पोषण हुआ, वे बड़े हुए (लूका 2:6-7)। 

• वे अपने सांसारिक माता-पिता की अधीनता में और उन के आज्ञाकारी रहे (लूका 2:51)। 

• उनके इलाके के लोग उन्हें एक सामान्य मनुष्य, अपने सांसारिक पिता के समान एक बढ़ई का काम करने वाले के रूप में जानते थे (मरकुस 6:3)।

• लोगों के अविश्वास से उन्हें अचंभा हुआ (मरकुस 6:6)

• सभी मनुष्यों के समान, पैदल यात्रा से उन्हें भी थकान होती थी, भूख और प्यास लगती थी (यूहन्ना 4:6-8), वे भी भोजन करते थे (यूहन्ना 13:4; लूका 24:42-43)। 

• सभी मनुष्यों के समान उनमें भी भावनाएं थीं:

• वे बच्चों से प्रेम करते थे (मत्ती 19:14)

• दुखियों और समाज के तिरस्कृत लोगों पर उन्हें तरस आता था (लूका 7:12-13; मत्ती 20:34)

• वे प्रिय जनों के देहांत और उनके परिवार के दुख से दुखी होकर स्वयं भी रोए (यूहन्ना 11:35-36)

• वे धार्मिकता और परमेश्वर के वचन के प्रति दोगलेपन के व्यवहार को सहन नहीं कर सकते थे (मत्ती 15:1-9; 23 अध्याय)

• धार्मिकता के प्रति अनुचित ढिठाई के व्यवहार से उन्हें क्रोध आया (मरकुस 3:5)

• अधर्मियों और अविश्वासियों पर आने वाले प्रकोप और विनाश से भी वे दुखी हुए और रोए (लूका 19:41-44; मत्ती 23:37)

• सभी मनुष्यों के समान उन्हें भी नींद की आवश्यकता होती थी (लूका 8:23)

• उन्हें भी लोगों के विरोध, बैर, और मार डाले जाने की बातों का सामना करना पड़ा (यूहन्ना 5:18, 41; 8:40-41,50, 59)

• यह जानते हुए भी कि उनका शिष्य यहूदा इस्करियोती उन्हें मार डाले जाने के लिए पकड़वाने वाला है, प्रभु ने यहूदा के विरुद्ध एक भी बात नहीं की, कोई कटाक्ष नहीं किया, उसे औरों के सामने उजागर और अपमानित नहीं किया, वरन उसके प्रभु को छोड़ कर चले जाने तक प्रभु उससे प्रेम का ही व्यवहार करता रहा (यूहन्ना 13:21-30)। 

• पकड़वाए जाने के समय भी प्रभु ने उन्हें पकड़ने आए हुए लोगों के विरुद्ध कुछ नहीं किया, जबकि उन्हें नाश कर देना उसकी सामर्थ्य में था; वरन वहाँ पर भी प्रभु ने अपना बुरा चाहने वाले को चंगाई दी (मत्ती 26:51-53; लूका 22:51)। 

• पकड़वाए जाने के बाद से लेकर क्रूस पर उनकी मृत्यु तक, प्रभु को लगातार उपहास, अपमान, लांछन, यातनाओं और मिथ्या आरोपों का सामना करना पड़ा; किन्तु वे चुपचाप सब सहते रहे, किसी के विरुद्ध कुछ नहीं कहा, किसी को कोई अपशब्द नहीं कहा, कोई श्राप नहीं दिया। वरन उन्हें क्रूस पर चढ़ाने वालों के लिए भी उन्होंने क्षमा की प्रार्थना की, और उनकी निन्दा करने वाले डाकू ने जब पश्चाताप किया, तो उसे भी उन्होंने तुरंत क्षमा कर दिया, स्वर्ग में होने का आश्वासन दे दिया।  

   

    इन सभी बातों में से होकर निकलने पर भी, जो एक सामान्य मनुष्य से यदि शब्दों और कार्यों में नहीं, तो कम से कम मन या विचारों में पाप करवा सकती हैं, प्रभु यीशु ने कभी कोई पाप नहीं किया। इसीलिए इब्रानियों की पत्री का लेखक उनके लिए लिखता है, “सो जब हमारा ऐसा बड़ा महायाजक है, जो स्वर्गों से हो कर गया है, अर्थात परमेश्वर का पुत्र यीशु; तो आओ, हम अपने अंगीकार को दृढ़ता से थामें रहे। क्योंकि हमारा ऐसा महायाजक नहीं, जो हमारी निर्बलताओं में हमारे साथ दुखी न हो सके; वरन वह सब बातों में हमारे समान परखा तो गया, तौभी निष्पाप निकला” (इब्रानियों 4:14-15)। उनके शिष्य यूहन्ना ने, जो लगभग साढ़े तीन वर्ष उनके साथ रहा था, जिसने उन्हें और उनके कार्यों को निकटता से देखा था, उनकी बातों और शिक्षाओं को सुना था, और जो प्रभु से बहुत घनिष्ठ था (यूहन्ना 13:23; 21:7) अपनी पत्री में उनके लिए लिखा, “और तुम जानते हो, कि वह इसलिये प्रगट हुआ, कि पापों को हर ले जाए; और उसके स्वभाव में पाप नहीं” (1 यूहन्ना 3:5)। 

    प्रभु यीशु मसीह, हर बात में, हर रीति से पूर्णतः मनुष्य थे; साथ ही वे पूर्णतः परमेश्वर भी थे, जिन्होंने अपने परमेश्वरत्व को, अपनी सामर्थ्य को, पृथ्वी की उनकी सेवकाई के दिनों में केवल औरों की भलाई के लिए ही प्रयोग किया, कभी अपने लिए नहीं (प्रेरितों 10:38; मत्ती 4:1-11)। केवल वो ही वह एकमात्र ऐसे उपयुक्त व्यक्ति थे जो औरों के पापों को अपने ऊपर लेकर उनके लिए दण्ड सह सकते थे, क्योंकि उनमें कभी किसी प्रकार का कोई पाप नहीं था इसलिए उन्हें अपने पाप के विषय कुछ नहीं करना था, जो भी करना था औरों के पापों के लिए ही करना था। इस प्रेमी, अनुग्रहकारी, धीरजवंत प्रभु ने मेरे और आपके पापों के निवारण और पाप की समस्या का समाधान तैयार कर के सेंत-मेंत उपलब्ध करवा दिया है। क्या आप उसके इस समाधान को स्वीकार नहीं करेंगे? आपके प्रति उसके प्रेम और कृपा में ऐसी क्या कमी, क्या बात है जो आपको उसके प्रेम भरे आमंत्रण को स्वीकार करने से रोकती है? उसके निमंत्रण को स्वीकार करने के लिए आपको सच्चे और समर्पित मन से एक प्रार्थना ही तो करनी है, जो आपके मन और जीवन को बदल कर नया कर दे, परमेश्वर के साथ आपका मेल-मिलाप करवा दे।  

    यदि आप ने अभी भी नया जन्म, उद्धार नहीं पाया है, अपने पापों के लिए प्रभु यीशु से क्षमा नहीं मांगी है, तो अभी आपके पास अवसर है। स्वेच्छा से, सच्चे और पूर्णतः समर्पित मन से, अपने पापों के प्रति सच्चे पश्चाताप के साथ एक छोटे प्रार्थना, “हे प्रभु यीशु मैं मान लेता हूँ कि मैंने जाने-अनजाने में, मन-ध्यान-विचार और व्यवहार में आपकी अनाज्ञाकारिता की है, पाप किए हैं। मैं मान लेता हूँ कि आपने क्रूस पर दिए गए अपने बलिदान के द्वारा मेरे पापों के दण्ड को अपने ऊपर लेकर पूर्णतः सह लिया, उन पापों की पूरी-पूरी कीमत सदा काल के लिए चुका दी है। कृपया मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मेरे मन को अपनी ओर परिवर्तित करें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें, अपने साथ कर लें।” आपका सच्चे मन से लिया गया मन परिवर्तन का यह निर्णय आपको जगत के न्याय से बचाकर स्वर्ग की आशीषों का वारिस बना देगा। क्या आप आज, अभी यह निर्णय लेंगे?

English Translation

The Solution for Sin - Salvation - 13

       While considering the third and most important question about salvation, “Why was it so necessary for this that Lord God Jesus Christ Himself had to leave heaven, and come down to earth to be sacrificed?” we saw that the holy and perfect man required for the God given solution, was impossible to find among men born through the natural manner of human birth. The coming and living on earth of such a man could only have been possible by supernatural method, and again, it was God who made this provision too. All the qualities essential for the birth and life of the perfect man necessary for God’s provision are found in the Lord Jesus Christ. The Son of God, the Lord Jesus Christ, came into this world as an ordinary and normal man, leaving the power, splendor, and glory of His divinity, to be sacrificed for the sins of man. “Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross.” (Philippians 2:5-8).

    Although the Lord Jesus Christ is the Son of God, the second personality of the Triune God, but, as is apparent from the above Bible quotation, in being born as a man on earth, He kept himself not in the Godly nature, but in human nature and behavior, and lived like an ordinary man:

• He was born like a normal infant, and was brought up just like any other child (Luke 2:6-7).

• He was subject to and obedient to His earthly parents (Luke 2:51).

• The people of his locality knew him as a normal man, a carpenter like his earthly father (Mark 6:3).

• He was surprised by the unbelief of the people in Him (Mark 6:6).

• Like all men, travel by walking made Him feel tired, hungry, and thirsty (John 4:6-8); He also required and ate food (John 13:4); Luke 24:42-43).

• Like all humans, He also had feelings and emotions:

•  He loved the children (Matthew 19:14)

• He felt pity for the afflicted and the despised people of the society (Luke 7:12-13; Matthew 20:34)

• He also wept, grieving at the death of His loved ones and the suffering of the families (John 11:35-36).

• He could not tolerate misuse of, and hypocrisy toward God's Word (Matthew 15:1-9; & chapter 23).

• He was angry by the stubborn, hard-hearted, unrighteous behavior of the religious leaders (Mark 3:5).

• He was grieved about the impending doom of the unrighteous and non-believers, and wept because of it (Luke 19:41-44; Matthew 23:37).

• Like all humans, He needed sleep (Luke 8:23).

• He too faced people's opposition, hatred, and even attempts of eliminating Him (John 5:18, 41; 8:40-41, 50, 59).

• Though knowing that His disciple Judas Iscariot was about to have Him caught to be killed, still, the Lord did not do or say anything against Judas, did not mock or ridicule him, did not expose and humiliate him before others. Instead, till the time he left Him, the Lord continued to treat him with love (John 13:21-30).  

• Even at the time of being captured, the Lord did nothing against those who had come

• to capture Him, though it was in His power to destroy them; and even there, the Lord came forward to heal the one who had come to harm Him (Matthew 26:51-53; Luke 22:51).

• From being captured until his death on the cross, the Lord had to face constant ridicule, humiliation, many false accusations were hurled at Him, He was unjustly abused and tortured. But He suffered them all silently, said nothing against anyone, did not use any intemperate language, did not curse anyone. He even prayed for the forgiveness of those who crucified Him, and when the robber who initially blasphemed Him repented, He immediately forgave him, assuring him of being in heaven.   

    Even after going through all these things, which can provoke any normal man to sin, if not in words and deeds, then at least in mind or thoughts; yet the Lord Jesus never sinned. That is why the author of the Epistle of the Hebrews writes for Him, “Seeing then that we have a great High Priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin.” (Hebrews 4:14-15). His disciple John, who had been with Him for about three and a half years, and had closely observed Him in various situations, had witnessed His works, had heard His messages and teachings, and who himself was very close to the Lord (John 13:23; 21:7) wrote about Him in his letter that, “And you know that He was manifested to take away our sins, and in Him there is no sin.” (1 John 3:5).

    The Lord Jesus Christ was, in every way, fully human; At the same time, He was fully God, who used His divinity, His power, in the days of His ministry on the earth only for the good of others, never for Himself (Acts 10:38; Matthew 4:1-11).  He was the only suitable person who could bear the punishment for others by taking their sins upon Himself, because He had never sinned, so there was nothing He had to do about His own sin; whatever He had to do was for the sins of others. This loving, gracious, merciful, longsuffering Lord has prepared and freely made available the remedy of sins, the solution to the problem of sin, for you and me. Will you not you accept this solution? Is there anything lacking in His love and grace towards you that is keeping you from accepting his loving invitation? In order to accept His loving invitation, all you have to do is pray with a sincere and submissive heart, and that will change your mind and life, make you a new person, and will reconcile you with God for eternity.

    If you have still not been Born Again, not obtained salvation, have not asked the Lord Jesus for forgiveness for your sins, then you have the opportunity to do so right now. A short prayer said voluntarily with a sincere heart and with heart-felt repentance for your sins, and a fully submissive attitude, “Lord Jesus, I confess that I have disobeyed You, and have knowingly or unknowingly, in mind, in thought, in attitude, and in deeds, committed sins. I believe that you have fully borne the punishment of my sins by your sacrifice on the cross, and have paid the full price of those sins for all eternity. Please forgive my sins, change my heart and mind towards you, and make me your disciple, take me with you." God longs for your company, wants to see you blessed; but to make this possible, is your personal decision. Will you not say this prayer now, while you have the time and opportunity to do so - the decision is yours.

    हमने उद्धार से संबंधित तीसरे और सबसे महत्वपूर्ण प्रश्न कि “इसके लिए यह इतना आवश्यक क्यों हुआ कि स्वयं परमेश्वर प्रभु यीशु को स्वर्ग छोड़कर सँसार में बलिदान होने के लिए आना पड़ा?” पर विचार आरंभ किया है। आदम और हव्वा के पापा के कारण उत्पन्न हुई इस विडंबना के लिए कि पाप को दण्डित भी किया जाए, किन्तु मनुष्य मृत्यु में, अर्थात, परमेश्वर की संगति से अनन्तकाल के लिए अलग भी न हो, परमेश्वर ने जो समाधान दिया, उसके लिए सभी मनुष्यों के लिए उनके पापों को अपने ऊपर उठा लेने और उन पापों के दण्ड को उनके स्थान पर सहन कर लेने वाले ऐसे मनुष्य की आवश्यकता थी, जो पृथ्वी पर ही जन्मा हो, जिसने अपने गर्भ में आने से लेकर अपनी मृत्यु तक अन्य मनुष्यों के समान ही हर परिस्थिति को सहन किया हो, और फिर भी उसने कभी कोई पाप नहीं किया हो। साथ ही इस मनुष्य में कुछ और विशेष गुण भी होने चाहिए थे; परमेश्वर को कोई ऐसा मनुष्य चाहिए था जिसका जीवन माता के गर्भ में आने के समय से ही पूर्णतः निष्पाप और निष्कलंक हो, इतना सामर्थी हो कि मृत्यु उसे वश में न रख सके, और इतना कृपालु हो कि मनुष्यों के पापों को स्वेच्छा से अपने ऊपर लेकर, उनके दण्ड को मनुष्यों के स्थान पर सह ले, और फिर प्रतिफल को मनुष्यों में सेंत-मेंत बाँट दे। केवल ऐसा मनुष्य ही पाप के दण्ड को सभी के लिए चुका सकता था, और मनुष्य को मृत्यु से स्वतंत्र कर के, उनका मेल-मिलाप परमेश्वर से करवा सकता था, अदन की वाटिका में खोई गई स्थिति को मनुष्यों के लिए वापस बहाल कर सकता था। अन्यथा, यदि उस मनुष्य में अपना स्वयं का कोई भी पाप होता, तो फिर वह जो भी बलिदान देता, जो भी कार्य करता, वह उसके अपने पाप के लिए ही होता; वह औरों के पाप के लिए अपना बलिदान नहीं दे सकता था। 

    किन्तु ऐसा पूर्णतः सिद्ध मनुष्य, पाप में पतित मनुष्यों में से आ पाना संभव नहीं था, क्योंकि आदम और हव्वा के पाप के बाद से प्रत्येक मनुष्य पाप के स्वभाव के साथ ही अपनी माता के गर्भ में आता है और शिशु अवस्था से ही पाप की प्रवृत्ति को प्रकट करता रहता है। इसलिए मनुष्यों की प्रणाली के अनुसार माता के गर्भ में पड़ने और जन्म लेने वाला कोई भी मनुष्य पूर्णतः निष्पाप, पवित्र, और निष्कलंक, इस बलिदान के लिए सिद्ध नहीं ठहर सकता। इसीलिए, उत्पत्ति 3:15 में परमेश्वर ने जब इस उद्धारकर्ता की भविष्यवाणी की, तो उसे “स्त्री के वंश” का बताया; अर्थात, वह मनुष्यों के प्रणाली के अनुसार, किसी पुरुष के कारण माता के गर्भ में नहीं आएगा, वरन केवल स्त्री से ही होगा। इसी लिए यह करने के लिए परमेश्वर ने एक कुँवारी, मरियम को चुना, और उसे बताया गया कि पवित्र आत्मा की सामर्थ्य के द्वारा परमेश्वर उसकी कोख में एक आश्चर्यकर्म करेगा; उसमें से सारे जगत का उद्धारकर्ता जन्म लेगा, और मरियम ने अपने आप को प्रभु परमेश्वर के कार्य के लिए समर्पित कर दिया (लूका 1:26-38)। मरियम की स्वीकृति के बाद, परमेश्वर ने इस महान कार्य के लिए तैयार की गई एक विशेष देह (इब्रानियों 10:5) को मरियम की कोख में डाला। वहाँ से मरियम की कोख में किसी भी अन्य मनुष्य के समान विकसित होकर, समय के अनुसार प्रभु यीशु मसीह ने एक शिशु के रूप में जन्म लिया। उनके गर्भ में आने के समय से लेकर के उनके पृथ्वी के जीवन पर्यंत वे निष्पाप, निष्कलंक, पवित्र, और सिद्ध रहे; उनकी देह में मनुष्य के किए गए पाप का प्रभाव नहीं था। 

    न केवल प्रभु यीशु के मनुष्य बनने की प्रक्रिया पाप के प्रभाव से अछूती थी, वरन उनका जीवन भी पूर्णतः पाप से अछूता था “और तुम जानते हो, कि वह इसलिये प्रगट हुआ, कि पापों को हर ले जाए; और उसके स्वभाव में पाप नहीं” (1 यूहन्ना 3:5); “न तो उसने पाप किया, और न उसके मुंह से छल की कोई बात निकली” (1 पतरस 2:22)। प्रभु यीशु ने अपनी आलोचना करने वालों को खुली चुनौती दी, “तुम में से कौन मुझे पापी ठहराता है? और यदि मैं सच बोलता हूं, तो तुम मेरी प्रतीति क्यों नहीं करते?” (यूहन्ना 8:46)। वह हमेशा, सभी का भला करता और परमेश्वर के राज्य की शिक्षा देता हुआ स्थान-स्थान पर जाता रहा, लोगों से मिलता रहा, “कि परमेश्वर ने किस रीति से यीशु नासरी को पवित्र आत्मा और सामर्थ्य से अभिषेक किया: वह भलाई करता, और सब को जो शैतान के सताए हुए थे, अच्छा करता फिरा; क्योंकि परमेश्वर उसके साथ था” (प्रेरितों 10:38)।

    उस समय के धर्म के अगुवे – फरीसी, शास्त्री, सदूकी, व्यवस्थापक, आदि, उसे पसंद नहीं करते थे, क्योंकि वह सत्यवादी एवं स्पष्टवादी था, और उनके दोगलेपन को तथा परमेश्वर के वचन के अपने स्वार्थ के लिए दुरुपयोग को खुलकर प्रकट कर देता था। किन्तु फिर भी वे उसके विषय जानते और समझते थे कि परमेश्वर उसके साथ है, और वह परमेश्वर की ओर से बोलता तथा कार्य करता है, और उसकी इस बात को स्वीकार करते थे: “फरीसियों में से नीकुदेमुस नाम एक मनुष्य था, जो यहूदियों का सरदार था। उसने रात को यीशु के पास आकर उस से कहा, हे रब्बी, हम जानते हैं, कि तू परमेश्वर की ओर से गुरु हो कर आया है; क्योंकि कोई इन चिन्हों को जो तू दिखाता है, यदि परमेश्वर उसके साथ न हो, तो नहीं दिखा सकता” (यूहन्ना 3:1-2); “सो उन्होंने अपने चेलों को हेरोदियों के साथ उसके पास यह कहने को भेजा, कि हे गुरु; हम जानते हैं, कि तू सच्चा है; और परमेश्वर का मार्ग सच्चाई से सिखाता है; और किसी की परवाह नहीं करता, क्योंकि तू मनुष्यों का मुंह देखकर बातें नहीं करता” (मत्ती 22:16)। किन्तु साथ ही, प्रभु यीशु के विषय यह जानते-मानते हुए भी वे उससे शत्रुता रखते थे, उसे पत्थरवाह करना चाहते थे “यहूदियों ने उसको उत्तर दिया, कि भले काम के लिये हम तुझे पत्थरवाह नहीं करते, परन्तु परमेश्वर की निन्दा के कारण और इसलिये कि तू मनुष्य हो कर अपने आप को परमेश्वर बनाता है” (यूहन्ना 10:33)।

The Solution for Sin - Salvation - 12

    We have started to consider the third and most important question about salvation, “Why was it so necessary for this that Lord God Jesus Christ Himself had to leave heaven, and come down to earth to be sacrificed?” For the dilemma created by the sin of Adam and Eve for God, that sin should be punished, but that man should not be eternally separated from His fellowship, i.e., suffer death, the solution that God gave required a man, who is born on earth, has endured every circumstance as any other person from his conception to his death and yet has never sinned, and who would be willing to take the sins of all mankind upon himself, bear the punishment of those sins in their place. Besides, this man should have some other special qualities as well; God required a man who was completely sinless and spotless from the time he came into his mother's womb; so powerful that death cannot subdue him, and be so gracious that he would willingly take the sins of man upon himself, bear their punishment in the place of man and then freely distribute the rewards among men. Only such a man could bear the punishment of sin for all of mankind, free man from death, and reconcile them to God, thereby restoring back to man the state he lost in the Garden of Eden. If that man had any sin of his own, then whatever sacrifice he would have made, whatever work he would have done, it would have been only for his own sin; he could not have sacrificed himself for the sin of others.

    But it was not possible for such a perfect man to come from among men already impure because of sin. Since the sin of Adam and Eve, every man comes into his mother's womb with the sin nature and continues to manifest the tendency of sin from infancy till death.  Therefore, according to the manner of men, no man who is naturally conceived in a mother’s womb and is born can be perfect for this sacrifice, since he cannot ever be completely sinless, holy, and unblemished since conception. That is why, when God foretold this Savior in Genesis 3:15, he described him as "the seed of the woman”; i.e., he will only be born from the woman as all others are, but will not come into the womb of the mother because of a man, as is the natural manner of men. That is why God chose a virgin, Mary, to do this, and she was told that by the power of the Holy Spirit, God would do a miracle in her womb; through her the Savior of the whole world would be born, and Mary submitted herself to the work of the Lord God (Luke 1:26-38). After Mary's approval, God put a special body prepared for this great work into Mary's womb (Hebrews 10:5). From then onwards, developing like any other human being in Mary's womb, at the fulfillment of time, the Lord Jesus Christ was born as an infant. Since the time He came into her womb till he lived His life on earth, He remained sinless, spotless, holy, and perfect; His body was not influenced by the sin committed by man.

    Not only was the process of the Lord Jesus becoming man untouched by the influence of sin, but His life was also completely untouched by sin. “And you know that He was manifested to take away our sins, and in Him there is no sin.” (1 John 3:5); “Who committed no sin, Nor was deceit found in His mouth” (1 Peter 2:22). The Lord Jesus openly challenged those who criticized Him, “Which of you convicts Me of sin? And if I tell the truth, why do you not believe Me?” (John 8:46). He always did good to all, and went from place to place, meeting the people, teaching them about God's kingdom, “how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him” (Acts 10:38).

    The religious leaders of that time — the Pharisees, the Scribes, the Sadducees, the Lawyers, etc., did not like him, because he was honest and forthright, always spoke the truth and openly exposed their duplicity and their abuse of God's Word for their own selfish motives. But yet they well knew, accepted, and understood of Him that God was with Him, and that He spoke and worked on behalf of God: “There was a man of the Pharisees named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews. This man came to Jesus by night and said to Him, "Rabbi, we know that You are a teacher come from God; for no one can do these signs that You do unless God is with him” (John 3:1-2); “And they sent to Him their disciples with the Herodians, saying, "Teacher, we know that You are true, and teach the way of God in truth; nor do You care about anyone, for You do not regard the person of men” (Matthew 22:16)। Despite knowing and acknowledging this about the Lord Jesus, they hated Him, and wanted to stone Him. “The Jews answered Him, saying, "For a good work we do not stone You, but for blasphemy, and because You, being a Man, make Yourself God” (John 10:33).

    Although they knew the truth about Him, still they conspired to kill Him, because of His name and fame was shaking their thrones, “Then the chief priests and the Pharisees gathered a council and said, "What shall we do? For this Man works many signs. If we let Him alone like this, everyone will believe in Him, and the Romans will come and take away both our place and nation." And one of them, Caiaphas, being high priest that year, said to them, "You know nothing at all, nor do you consider that it is expedient for us that one man should die for the people, and not that the whole nation should perish."” (John 11:47-50).

    The conception, birth, and the life of the Lord Jesus, was sinless, spotless, holy, and perfect; and He transforms his disciples too into His likeness “...are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.” (2 Corinthians 3:18); God the Father, wants to see all the disciples of the Lord Jesus, the Christian Believers, in the image of His Son, the Lord Jesus, “For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren” (Romans 8:29). Jesus did not come to give any religion, nor did he want His disciples to introduce a religion in His name, or to convert the religion of people. He came to change the minds and lives of sinful men, to convert them into His heavenly nature and behavior, and to change them into those who will live with God. And this is possible not through any religion, religious process or ritual, but through faith in the Lord Jesus, repentance for sins, and submission to the Lord.

    If you have still not been Born Again, not obtained salvation, have not asked the Lord Jesus for forgiveness for your sins, then you have the opportunity to do so right now. A short prayer said voluntarily with a sincere heart and with heart-felt repentance for your sins, and a fully submissive attitude, “Lord Jesus, I confess that I have disobeyed You, and have knowingly or unknowingly, in mind, in thought, in attitude, and in deeds, committed sins. I believe that you have fully borne the punishment of my sins by your sacrifice on the cross, and have paid the full price of those sins for all eternity. Please forgive my sins, change my heart and mind towards you, and make me your disciple, take me with you." God longs for your company, wants to see you blessed; but to make this possible or not, is your personal decision. Will you not say this prayer now, while you have the time and opportunity to do so - the decision is yours.

    कल से हमने उद्धार से संबंधित तीसरे और सबसे महत्वपूर्ण प्रश्न कि “इसके लिए यह इतना आवश्यक क्यों हुआ कि स्वयं परमेश्वर प्रभु यीशु को स्वर्ग छोड़कर सँसार में बलिदान होने के लिए आना पड़ा?” पर विचार आरंभ किया था। पाप और उसके प्रभावों, तथा सभी मनुष्यों के लिए उद्धार की अनिवार्यता के संदर्भ में हमने देखा था कि पाप के कारण उत्पन्न परिस्थिति से यदि परमेश्वर निष्पक्ष, खरे, न्यायी के समान व्यवहार करता, तो मनुष्य नाश हो जाते; और यदि वह उनके प्रति अपने प्रेम में होकर उनके पाप को अनदेखा कर देता, तो उसका निष्पक्ष, खरा, न्यायी होने की प्रतिष्ठा जाती रहती। इस विडंबना के समाधान के लिए परमेश्वर को कोई ऐसा मनुष्य चाहिए था जो पूर्णतः निष्पाप और निष्कलंक हो, इतना सामर्थी हो कि मृत्यु उसे वश में न रख सके, और इतना कृपालु हो कि मनुष्यों के पापों को स्वेच्छा से अपने ऊपर लेकर, उनके दण्ड को मनुष्यों के स्थान पर सह ले, और फिर प्रतिफल को मनुष्यों में सेंत-मेंत बाँट दे। केवल ऐसा मनुष्य ही पाप के दण्ड को सभी के लिए चुका सकता था, और मनुष्य को मृत्यु से स्वतंत्र कर के, उनका मेल-मिलाप परमेश्वर से करवा सकता था, अदन की वाटिका में खोई गई स्थिति को मनुष्यों के लिए वापस बहाल कर सकता था। 

    साथ ही हमने देखा था ऐसा मनुष्यों में से यह हो पाना संभव नहीं था, क्योंकि आदम और हव्वा के पाप के बाद से प्रत्येक मनुष्य पाप के स्वभाव के साथ ही अपनी माता के गर्भ में आता है और शिशु अवस्था से ही पाप की प्रवृत्ति को प्रकट करता रहता है। इसलिए मनुष्यों की प्रणाली के अनुसार माता के गर्भ में पड़ने और जन्म लेने वाला कोई भी मनुष्य पूर्णतः निष्पाप, पवित्र, और निष्कलंक नहीं ठहर सकता। अब समस्या थी कि पाप का निवारण करने वाले को मनुष्य भी होना था, और अपने अस्तित्व के बिल्कुल आरंभ से ही पाप से पूर्णतः विहीन भी होना था। 

    परमेश्वर ने यह समाधान अदन की वाटिका में ही प्रदान कर दिया था। शैतान द्वारा सर्प के शरीर में होकर आदम और हव्वा को पाप में गिराने के कारण, परमेश्वर की ओर से पहला श्राप और दण्ड सर्प पर आया “तब यहोवा परमेश्वर ने सर्प से कहा, तू ने जो यह किया है इसलिये तू सब घरेलू पशुओं, और सब बनैले पशुओं से अधिक शापित है; तू पेट के बल चला करेगा, और जीवन भर मिट्टी चाटता रहेगा” (उत्पत्ति 3:14)। फिर अपनी इसी बात को आगे ज़ारी रखते हुए शैतान को संबोधित करते हुए, उसे उसका अंत बताया, “और मैं तेरे और इस स्त्री के बीच में, और तेरे वंश और इसके वंश के बीच में बैर उत्पन्न करूंगा, वह तेरे सिर को कुचल डालेगा, और तू उसकी एड़ी को डसेगा” (उत्पत्ति 3:15)। यहाँ पर परमेश्वर द्वारा कही गई बात में शैतान द्वारा उद्धारकर्ता को डसे जाने - मृत्यु चखने, और शैतान के सिर को कुचले जाने, अर्थात शैतान के अंत होने की बाइबल की पहली भविष्यवाणी दी गई है - शैतान जिस उद्धारकर्ता की एड़ी को डसेगा, अर्थात उसे मृत्यु चखाएगा, वही उद्धारकर्ता शैतान के सिर को कुचल डालेगा। हम इस बात को बाद में और विस्तार से देखेंगे। अभी ध्यान देने के लिए हमारे संदर्भ से संबंधित एक बहुत महत्वपूर्ण वाक्यांश यहाँ पर भविष्यवाणी के रूप में दिया गया है - “इसके वंश”, अर्थात स्त्री का वंश!

    सामान्यतः, संसार भर के सभी लोगों में वंश पिता से माना जाता है, इसीलिए लोग पुत्रों की इतनी लालसा रखते हैं - ताकि उनका वंश चलता रहे। किन्तु यहाँ पर परमेश्वर ने स्त्री के वंश की बात की; अर्थात वह उद्धारकर्ता संसार की सामान्य रीति के अनुसार जन्म नहीं लेगा, उसके स्त्री के गर्भ में आने और जन्म लेने में किसी पुरुष का कोई कार्य नहीं होगा। साथ ही, क्योंकि उस जगत के उद्धारकर्ता को एक सामान्य मनुष्य के समान ही होना था, मनुष्यों के अनुभवों में से होकर निकलना था, और उन परिस्थितियों में भी अपने निष्पाप, पवित्र, निष्कलंक होने को बनाए रखना था, इसलिए उसका जन्म भी मनुष्यों के समान ही होना था। मानवीय जीवन का कोई ऐसा अनुभव नहीं बचना था, जिससे होकर वह न निकले और फिर भी पूर्णतः निर्दोष और पवित्र रहे। 

    प्रभु यीशु मसीह ही संसार के इतिहास में एकमात्र हैं जो मनुष्यों की रीति से तो गर्भ में नहीं आए, किन्तु फिर भी किसी भी अन्य मनुष्य के समान गर्भ में रहने, जन्म की पीड़ा और अनिश्चितता सहने, असहाय और माँ पर पूर्णतः निर्भर शिशु होने, फिर बाल्यावस्था से लेकर वयस्क होने के सभी अनुभवों में से होकर निकले। 

    प्रभु यीशु मसीह का अपनी माँ के गर्भ में आना परमेश्वर का किया आश्चर्यकर्म था; उन के संसार में आने के लिए परमेश्वर की ओर से एक देह तैयार की गई “इसी कारण वह जगत में आते समय कहता है, कि बलिदान और भेंट तू ने न चाही, पर मेरे लिये एक देह तैयार किया” (इब्रानियों 10:5), और फिर उस देह को मरियम के गर्भ में रखा गया, जहाँ वह किसी भी अन्य मनुष्य के भ्रूण के समान उन सभी परिस्थितियों से होते हुए विकसित हुई और फिर उन्होंने एक सामान्य मनुष्य के समान संसार में जन्म लिया “अब यीशु मसीह का जन्म इस प्रकार से हुआ, कि जब उस की माता मरियम की मंगनी यूसुफ के साथ हो गई, तो उन के इकट्ठे होने के पहिले से वह पवित्र आत्मा की ओर से गर्भवती पाई गई” (मत्ती 1:18)। उत्पत्ति 3:15 में कही गई परमेश्वर की बात और भविष्यवाणी, सारे जगत के उद्धारकर्ता का “स्त्री का वंश” होना पूरी हुई। 

    परमेश्वर कभी झूठ या गलत नहीं बोलता है, उसका कहा कभी नहीं टलता है, वह असंभव लगने वाली स्थिति में से भी मार्ग बना देता है। जैसे उसने समस्त जगत के उद्धारकर्ता की भविष्यवाणी की, वैसे ही जगत के अंत और न्याय की भी भविष्यवाणी की है, और यह भी बात दिया कि जब ऐसा होना निकट होगा, उस समय संसार के क्या हाल होंगे, क्या परिस्थितियाँ होंगी (मत्ती 24 अध्याय) जिससे वह समय लोगों पर अनायास और अनपेक्षित न आ जाए, लोग सचेत हो जाएं, अपने आप को उसके पुनः आगमन, और न्याय के लिए उसके सामने खड़े होने के लिए तैयार कर लें। आज की संसार की परिस्थितियाँ और बातें स्पष्ट दिखा रहे हैं कि हम अंत और न्याय के समय के बहुत निकट हैं। क्या आपने अपने आप को परमेश्वर के सम्मुख खड़े होने के लिए तैयार कर लिया है? जैसा हम पीछे देख चुके हैं, केवल वे ही बचाए जाएंगे जिन्होंने नया जन्म, उद्धार पाया है; धर्म के निर्वाह, धार्मिकता के कामों, वचन का ज्ञान आदि पर भरोसा रखने वाले यहीं पीछे छूट जाएंगे।

The Solution for Sin - Salvation - 11

 

    Since yesterday we have started to consider the third and the most important of the three questions related to salvation, “Why was it so necessary for this that Lord God Jesus Christ Himself had to leave heaven, and come down to earth to be sacrificed?” In context of sin and its deleterious effects, and the necessity of salvation for every person, we had seen that if God were to act as a just, impartial judge, then man would have been destroyed; and if He had overlooked their sin because of His love for them, then He would have contradicted His attribute of being honest, just, and impartial. For the solution to this dilemma, God needed a man who would be totally sinless and spotless, strong enough to overcome death, kind and benevolent enough to voluntarily take the sins of whole of mankind upon himself and suffer their punishment, and then share out the benefits freely with everyone. Only such a person could pay the punishment of sins for everyone, free man from death, reconcile man with God, and restore back the status lost by man in the Garden of Eden through sin.

    We had also seen that this was not possible through any human being, since after the sin of Adam and Eve, every person is conceived with a sin nature and since his childhood starts manifesting this sin nature in his life. Therefore, any person conceived and born through the natural processes of mankind, will never be totally sinless, holy, and spotless. Now, the problem was that the one who was to provide the solution to sin, had to be a human being, yet also be totally sinless since the moment of his physically coming into existence.

    God had made the provision for this solution in the Garden of Eden itself. For allowing Satan to use it to beguile Adam and Eve into sin, the first punishment came upon the serpent, “So the Lord God said to the serpent: "Because you have done this, You are cursed more than all cattle, And more than every beast of the field; On your belly you shall go, And you shall eat dust All the days of your life” (Genesis 3:14). Then, continuing His statement, God addressed Satan and told him his end, “And I will put enmity Between you and the woman, And between your seed and her Seed; He shall bruise your head, And you shall bruise His heel” (Genesis 3:15). Here, in the statement made by God to Satan we see the mention of Satan bruising the Savior – tasting death, and then He will bruise the head of Satan. We will see this in greater detail later on. For now, in context of our current consideration, there is a very important phrase given here as a prophecy, “her Seed”!

    Generally speaking, all over the world, amongst all people, the “seed” is considered to be of the father, and that is why people generally desire male children – so that their family line may continue. But here God mentioned the woman’s seed; implying that the Savior will not be born according to the general process of conception and birth in mankind, i.e., there will be no role of any man in the Savior’s being conceived and born of a woman. But since the Savior had to be just like any other ordinary man, therefore he had to go through the same experiences as any other person would undergo; and yet, even in all these circumstances and experiences had to remain sinless and spotless, and had to be born as any other human. He had to undergo every experience that any other man undergoes, and yet remain completely sinless and holy.

    The Lord Jesus Christ is the only person in the entire history of all of mankind who was not conceived in His mother’s womb in the natural manner of mankind. Yet, He remained in the womb like any other person, was born like any other person – suffering the same birth pains and uncertainties, as an infant remained totally dependent upon His mother for everything, and then as He grew to be an adult, underwent the same experiences as any other person of the world does.

    The Lord’s coming into the womb of His mother was a miracle of God; for Him to come and live in the world, a body was prepared by God, “Therefore, when He came into the world, He said: "Sacrifice and offering You did not desire, But a body You have prepared for Me” (Hebrews 10:5), and then that body was placed in Mary’s womb, where He developed like any other human embryo, and was then born like any other human being is born. “Now the birth of Jesus Christ was as follows: After His mother Mary was betrothed to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Spirit” (Matthew 1:18); and what God had said and prophesied in Genesis 3:15, that the Savior of the world would be “the seed of the woman” was thus fulfilled.

    God never lies, never speaks any wrong, and what He has said always stands true, never changes; He makes a way out even in seemingly impossible things and circumstances. Just as He had told and prophesied about the Savior of the world, similarly He has told and prophesied about the end of the world and the coming judgement of entire mankind. He has told us that when this end-time and the time for judgement approaches, what would be the conditions and circumstances in the world (Matthew 24), so that this time would not come upon the world suddenly and unexpectedly; that people may have time to be warned and prepare themselves for His second-coming and stand before Him for judgment. The circumstances and conditions prevailing in the world are clearly showing that we are very near the time of the end and of judgment. Have you prepared yourself to face the second coming of the Lord and your judgment? As we have seen in the previous articles, only those who are Born-Again, those who have received salvation from the Lord, will be saved whereas everyone who has been relying upon their religion, religious works and rituals, knowledge of the scriptures, good works etc. will all be left behind.

    If you have not received salvation from the Lord, have not been Born-Again, have not repented of your sins and asked forgiveness for them from the Lord Jesus, then you have the opportunity to do so right now. A short prayer said voluntarily with a sincere heart and with heart-felt repentance for your sins, and a fully submissive attitude, “Lord Jesus, I confess that I have disobeyed You, and have knowingly or unknowingly, in mind, in thought, in attitude, and in deeds, committed sins. I believe that you have fully borne the punishment of my sins by your sacrifice on the cross, and have paid the full price of those sins for all eternity. Please forgive my sins, change my heart and mind towards you, and make me your disciple, take me with you." God longs for your company, wants to see you blessed; but to make this possible or not, is your personal decision. Will you not say this prayer now, while you have the time and opportunity to do so - the decision is yours.
