मसीही जीवन में परिपक्वता के चिह्न (1)

पिछले लेखों में हमने इफिसियों 4:11 में दिए गए सेवकों के विवरण से देखा है कि प्रभु यीशु द्वारा उसकी कलीसिया में नियुक्त किए गए सेवकों की खरी तथा समर्पित सेवकाई के द्वारा, इफिसियों 4:12 के अनुसार, प्रभु यीशु के विश्वासी, उसकी कलीसिया के लोग “सिद्ध”, अर्थात सेवकाई के लिए तत्पर और तैयार होते हैं, कलीसिया में सेवा का काम होता है, और कलीसिया उन्नति पाती है। इसका उदाहरण हमने थिस्सलुनीकिया की कलीसिया के स्थापित होने तथा उन्नति करने से देखा था। मसीह यीशु की कलीसिया में इन तीन बातों के होने से कुछ और प्रभाव भी आते हैं, जिन्हें इफिसियों 4:13-16 में बताया गया है। आज हम इनमें से 13 पद में दिए गए प्रभावों को देखेंगे।

परमेश्वर पवित्र आत्मा ने पौलुस प्रेरित के द्वारा इफिसियों 4:13 में लिखवाया है, जब तक कि हम सब के सब विश्वास, और परमेश्वर के पुत्र की पहचान में एक न हो जाएं, और एक सिद्ध मनुष्य न बन जाएं और मसीह के पूरे डील डौल तक न बढ़ जाएं। इस वाक्य और पद के आरंभिक शब्द “जब तक” प्रभु द्वारा उसके विश्वासियों, उसके ‘पवित्र लोगों’ के लिए कलीसिया के रूप में, तथा व्यक्तिगत रीति से मसीही विश्वास एवं जीवन में उन्नति के चरम स्तर की ओर संकेत करते हैं। अर्थात, मसीही विश्वासियों की कलीसिया को, और व्यक्तिगत रीति से प्रभु के ‘पवित्र लोगों’ को कब तक उन्नत होते चले जाने के प्रयास में कार्यरत रहना है? इस पद में उत्तर दिया गया है - जब तक कि:

* हम सब के सब विश्वास, और परमेश्वर के पुत्र की पहचान में एक न हो जाएं

* एक सिद्ध मनुष्य न बन जाएं 

* मसीह के पूरे डील डौल तक न बढ़ जाएं

एक बार फिर, इससे पहले वाले 12 पद के समान ही यहाँ भी एक क्रम, उन्नति की एक के बाद एक सीढ़ी दी गई है। सबसे पहला लक्ष्य है प्रभु की कलीसिया के ‘सब के सब’ लोगों का विश्वास में और प्रभु यीशु की पहचान में एक हो जाना; उनके बारे में एक ही समझ, विचार, और दृष्टिकोण रखना (इफिसियों 4:1-6)। और यह होना अति-आवश्यक भी है, क्योंकि जब तक मसीही विश्वास तथा प्रभु यीशु मसीह से संबंधित बातों में, शिक्षाओं में, दृष्टिकोण में भिन्नता रहेगी, तब तक न तो कलीसिया के लोग साथ मिलकर रह सकेंगे, और न ही एक ही उद्देश्य के साथ सेवकाई कर सकेंगे। प्रभु की विश्वव्यापी कलीसिया के सभी लोगों को मसीही विश्वास और प्रभु यीशु मसीह के विषय समान समझ, विचार, और दृष्टिकोण रखना बहुत आवश्यक, वरन, अनिवार्य है। जब मसीह यीशु एक ही है, प्रभु यीशु का वचन एक ही है, उस वचन को सिखाने वाला परमेश्वर पवित्र आत्मा एक ही है, सारे संसार के सभी लोगों के लिए परमेश्वर से मेल-मिलाप और उद्धार का मार्ग एक ही है, तो फिर कलीसिया को भी एक ही होना है; कलीसिया में अलग-अलग विचारधाराओं और मान्यताओं के होने के लिए कोई स्थान ही नहीं है। किन्तु फिर भी आज का ईसाई या मसीही समाज, यहाँ तक कि मसीही विश्वासी भी आज अनेकों समुदायों, गुटों, और डिनॉमिनेशंस में विभाजित हैं, जो परस्पर टकराव और असहिष्णुता की स्थिति में भी रहते हैं। इस विभाजन का एक ही कारण, एक ही आधार है - प्रभु परमेश्वर और उसके वचन के अनुसार नहीं, वरन व्यक्तियों और उनकी, यानि कि मनुष्यों की शिक्षाओं के अनुसार चलना और गुट-बंदी करना। मसीहियों ने अपने आप को अगुवों और प्रचारकों के आधार पर विभाजित कर लिया है; यह वही स्थिति है जो शैतान ने आरंभिक कलीसिया के समय से ही कलीसियाओं में डाल दी थी (1 कुरिन्थियों 1:10-13; 3:1-7)।

इस सन्दर्भ में हम 1 कुरिन्थियों 3:1-7 से देखते हैं कि प्रभु के सेवकों का, अर्थात मनुष्यों का अनुसरण करने के आधार पर अपने आप को गुटों में विभाजित कर लेना आत्मिक अपरिपक्वता का, आत्मिक जन होने का नहीं वरन् शारीरिक मसीही होने का चिह्न है। और इस अपरिपक्वता के कारण मसीही विश्वासी वचन की ठोस या गूढ़ शिक्षाओं को ग्रहण नहीं कर पाते हैं; उन्हें ठोस आहार नहीं, बल्कि बच्चों का आहार - दूध ही देना पड़ता है। साथ ही यहाँ पर पौलुस, अपने और अपुल्लोस के उदाहरण से यह भी दिखा रहा है कि परिश्रम करने वाला सेवक चाहे कोई भी हो, सेवकाई का परिणाम परमेश्वर ही देता है। इसलिए मसीहियों को व्यक्तियों के नहीं, वरन् परमेश्वर और उसके वचन ही का अनुसरण करने वाले बनना चाहिए। 

अगले लेख में हम इफिसियों 4:12 में दिए गए दूसरी और तीसरी सीढ़ियों के बारे में देखेंगे। 

    यदि आपने अभी तक प्रभु की शिष्यता को स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी उसके पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। यदि आपने अभी तक नया जन्म, उद्धार नहीं पाया है, प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा नहीं माँगी है, तो अभी आपके पास समय और अवसर है कि यह कर लें। प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” परमेश्वर आपके साथ संगति रखने की बहुत लालसा रखता है तथा आपको आशीषित देखना चाहता है, लेकिन इसे सम्भव करना आपका व्यक्तिगत निर्णय है। सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी। क्या आप अभी समय और अवसर होते हुए, इस प्रार्थना को नहीं करेंगे? निर्णय आपका है।

The Signs of Maturity in the Believers Life (1)

In the previous articles we have seen that through the ministries given in Ephesians 4:11, sincerely and diligently carried out by the workers appointed by the Lord Jesus for those ministries, the Church and the Christian Believers grow spiritually, are edified, and mature in a progressive manner, as given in Ephesians 4:12-16. In Ephesians 4:12 we have the initial steps to this maturity - the saints, i.e., the Christian Believers or the children of God by Faith, are perfected or prepared, these perfected or prepared people of God carry out their ministries worthily and diligently, which will result in the growth and edification of the Church and in their own lives. We saw this illustrated through the example of the establishment and growth of the Church in Thessalonica. In the Church of the Lord Jesus and life of Christian Believers, after these initial effects or steps, some other effects or steps also occur, as given in Ephesians 4:13-16. Today we will see the steps or effects given in verse 13.

God the Holy Spirit, through the Apostle Paul, has had it written in Ephesians 4:13 till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ. The initial word “till” of this sentence and verse indicates the highest state or the upper limit of the growth and maturity of a Christian Believer and the Church. In other words, Christian Believers and the Church have to grow and mature till the things mentioned in this verse are accomplished in their lives. These things indicating the ultimate state are:

* till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God

* to a perfect man

* to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ

Once again, as in the preceding verse 12, there is a progression, a series of steps for the growth. The first goal is that all the members of the Lord’s Church come to unity of faith and the knowledge of the Lord Jesus; i.e., develop a unified understanding, thinking, and point-of-view about the Lord (Ephesians 4:1-6). This is very necessary, rather mandatory too, because till we all have the same thinking and understanding about the Christian Faith and the things pertaining to the Lord Jesus, we will not be able to come to unity, nor sit together and work to achieve one and the same goal of serving the Lord. All the members of the world-wide Church of the Lord Jesus have come to a unified understanding about the Lord, His Church, and His work. When the Lord is one and the same, the Word of the Lord God is one and the same, the Teacher of that Word, God the Holy Spirit, is one and the same, the way of salvation and being reconciled with God is one, then the Church too should be one; why should there be any sanction or place for different doctrines, notions, and points-of-view in Christian Faith and the Church? But still in Christendom, even amongst Christian Believers, many groups, sects, divisions and denominations are seen; and very often they are in a state of mutual conflict and opposition, intolerant of each other. There is only one reason and basis for this state or divisions and disunity - people living and walking not according to the Word and teachings of the Lord Jesus, but according to the people who spoke to them, and the words that those leaders or elders preached and taught. The congregations have divided themselves according to their elders and preachers; which is the same state that Satan brought into the initial Churches, and Paul admonished them for (1 Corinthians 1:10-13; 3:1-7).

In this context we see from 1 Corinthians 3:1-7 that becoming followers of the ministers of the Lord, i.e., followers of men and dividing into groups on that basis is not a sign of being spiritual, but of being a carnal Christian. Because of this immaturity, the Christian Believers are unable to receive the solid food, i.e., the deep things of God's Word; therefore, they have to be given the food for children, i.e., milk. Moreover, here Paul, by using himself and Apollos as examples, is also showing that no matter who is the minister who is laboring, it is only the Lord God who gives the results of the ministry. Therefore, Christians should not be followers of people, but only follow the Lord God and His Word.

In the next article, we will consider the second and third steps given in Ephesians 4:12. 

If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord Jesus, then take a decision in its favor now to secure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. The Lord's security and blessings are present where there is obedience of the Lord, where His Word is honored and followed. If you are still not Born Again, have not obtained salvation, or have not asked the Lord Jesus for forgiveness for your sins, then you have the time and opportunity to do so right now. Ask the Lord Jesus to forgive your sins, and voluntarily and sincerely surrender yourselves into His hands - this is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. All you have to do is say a short prayer, voluntarily and with a sincere heart, with heartfelt repentance for your sins, and a fully submissive attitude. You can do this in this manner, “Lord Jesus, I confess that I have disobeyed You, and have knowingly or unknowingly, in mind, in thought, in attitude, and in deeds, committed sins. I believe that you have fully borne the punishment of my sins by your sacrifice on the cross, and have paid the full price of those sins for all eternity. Please forgive my sins, change my heart and mind towards you, and make me your disciple, take me with you." God longs for your company and wants to see you blessed, but to make this possible, is your personal decision. One prayer said with a sincere and surrendered heart will turn your present and future, your life here on earth and in the next world, forever and make you heavenly and blessed. Will you not say this prayer now, while you have the time and opportunity to do so? The decision is yours.

मसीही विश्वासियों एवं कलीसिया की बढ़ोतरी एवं उन्नति

    पिछले कुछ लेखों में हम प्रभु यीशु द्वारा अपनी कलीसिया के कार्यों के लिए नियुक्त किए गए कार्यकर्ताओं के बारे में इफिसियों 4:11 से देखते आ रहे हैं। हमने देखा है कि प्रभु यीशु ने कुछ सेवकाइयाँ निर्धारित की हैं, और उन सेवकाइयों के लिए कुछ सेवक नियुक्त किए हैं। हमने यह भी देखा है कि ये सेवकाइयाँ परमेश्वर के वचन की सेवकाई करने से सम्बन्धित हैं। इस सन्दर्भ में हमने प्रभु यीशु के बारे में  देखा कि उसने शिक्षक, सुसमाचार प्रचारक, तथा अन्य सेवकाइयों का निर्वाह किया। प्रभु बाद, प्रभु के प्रेरितों ने भी ऐसा ही किया, और जैसा आरम्भिक कलीसियाओं में होता था, आज भी एक व्यक्ति एक से अधिक सेवकाई कर सकता है। इससे हमने यह तात्पर्य लिया था कि कलीसिया में महत्व इन पाँच प्रकार की सेवकाइयों के निरंतर ज़ारी रहने का है, न कि सेवकाइयों के लिए नियुक्त किए गए व्यक्तियों का। जिस मसीही विश्वासी में तथा जिस भी कलीसिया में ये पाँच प्रकार के कार्य ज़ारी रहेंगे, वह कलीसिया उन्नति करती रहेगी, बढ़ती रहेगी, और प्रभु के लिए उपयोगी, तथा प्रभु की महिमा का कारण होगी। इफिसियों 4:11 के बाद, इफिसियों 4:12-16 में हम इन सेवकाइयों को किए जाने के प्रभावों को मसीही विश्वासियों के जीवनों में क्रमवार, और उनके उन्नत होने की एक के बाद एक सीढ़ी पर बढ़ते हुए देखते हैं। इफिसियों 4:11 के निर्वाह के द्वारा होने वाले प्रभावों के क्रम का आरंभ इफिसियों 4:12 से होता है, जो कि उन्नति की पहली सीढ़ी है, “जिस से पवित्र लोग सिद्ध हों जाएं, और सेवा का काम किया जाए, और मसीह की देह उन्नति पाएं” से होता है। यहाँ पर इन सेवकाइयों के द्वारा कलीसिया में होने वाले पहले तीन प्रभाव दिए गए हैं:

    * पवित्र लोग सिद्ध हों जाएं [मूल यूनानी भाषा के जिस शब्द का अनुवाद यहाँ पर "सिद्ध" किया गया है, उसका शब्दार्थ होता है पूरी रीति से तैयार किया जाना। इसीलिए कुछ अंग्रेजी अनुवादों ने यहाँ पर प्रशिक्षित करने या तैयार करने के अभिप्राय वाले शब्दों का प्रयोग किया है।]

    * सेवा का काम किया जाए

    * मसीह की देह उन्नति पाए

    यहाँ पर उन्नत होते जाने के क्रम को भी देखा जा सकता है - पवित्र लोग, अर्थात मसीही विश्वासी या विश्वास के द्वारा परमेश्वर की संतान बनने वाले लोग, उन्हें सिद्ध या तैयार या प्रशिक्षित किया जाएगा, फिर वे सिद्ध किए गए परमेश्वर के लोग सेवा के कार्य को सच्चे मन से तथा योग्य रीति से करेंगे, जिससे मसीह की देह अर्थात कलीसिया और वे स्वयं भी उन्नति पाएँगे। इस पद में, मूल भाषा के जिस शब्द का अनुवाद “सिद्ध” किया गया है, उसका शब्दार्थ होता है “पूर्णतः सुसज्जित” होना, अर्थात किसी भी कार्य या ज़िम्मेदारी के निर्वाह के लिए पूरी तरह से तैयार और आवश्यक संसाधनों एवं उपकरणों तथा समझ-बूझ से लैस होना। यहाँ “सिद्ध” शब्द का अर्थ आत्मिक और नैतिक रीति से निर्दोष, निष्पाप, निष्कलंक होना नहीं है, वरन कलीसिया के कार्यों के लिए तत्पर और तैयार हो जाना है।  साथ ही ध्यान कीजिए कि 4:12 की ये तीनों बातें कलीसिया के सभी “पवित्र लोगों” के लिए हैं, किसी विशेष नियुक्ति अथवा चुने गए कुछ विशिष्ट लोगों के लिए नहीं। अर्थात, 4:11 की सेवकाइयों के कलीसिया में भली-भांति निर्वाह के द्वारा समस्त कलीसिया, प्रभु के सभी सच्चे और समर्पित विश्वासी, प्रभु के कार्य के लिए तत्पर और तैयार हो जाएंगे, परमेश्वर द्वारा निर्धारित उनकी अपनी-अपनी सेवकाई (इफिसियों 2:10) के निर्वाह के लिए उन्हें परमेश्वर पवित्र आत्मा द्वारा दिए गए आवश्यक गुणों और वरदानों  का उपयोग करेंगे।

    इसका एक व्यावहारिक उदाहरण है थिस्सलुनीकिया की कलीसिया, जिसकी स्थापना का वर्णन हम प्रेरितों 17:1-9 में पाते हैं। प्रेरितों 17:2-4 में लिखा है कि थिस्सलुनीकिया में पौलुस की सेवकाई केवल “तीन सबत के दिन” ही की थी, जो दो या अधिक से अधिक तीन सप्ताह का समय बनता है, और इस दौरान पौलुस ने उन्हें सुसमाचार भी दिया, वचन की शिक्षाएं भी दीं, जिसके परिणामस्वरूप बहुत से लोगों ने प्रभु को उद्धारकर्ता ग्रहण किया। पौलुस द्वारा इस मण्डली को लिखी पहली पत्री के आरंभिक अध्याय में ही हम इफिसियों 4:12 में लिखी बात के प्रभावों के प्रमाण को उस कलीसिया में प्रकट होते हुए देखते हैं। दो या तीन सप्ताह की वचन की सेवकाई से स्थापित हुए थिस्सलुनीकिया की कलीसिया के विषय स्वयं पौलुस की गवाही थी कि उन्होंने बड़े क्लेश में भी पवित्र आत्मा के आनन्द के साथ वचन को ग्रहण किया, मकिदुनिया और आख्या के सभी विश्वासियों के लिए आदर्श बने, उन इलाकों में परमेश्वर के वचन का प्रचार किया, और उनके मूरतों से परिवर्तन, मसीही विश्वास में आने, और प्रभु के दूसरे आगमन के लिए तैयार होने की चर्चा हर जगह फैल गई (1 थिस्सलुनीकियों 1:6-10)। दूसरे शब्दों में, जैसे ही इफिसियों 4:11 की सेवकाइयों के द्वारा परमेश्वर पवित्र आत्मा को कार्य करने का अवसर और स्वतंत्रता प्राप्त हुई, थिस्सलुनीकिया के उन लोगों के जीवनों में इफिसियों 4:12 की तीनों बातें, तथा उससे और आगे के पदों की बातें भी प्रत्यक्ष दिखने लग गईं।

    यदि आप मसीही विश्वासी हैं, तो आपके पास अभी अपने आप को जाँचने और परखने का अवसर है कि इफिसियों 4:12 के अनुसार आप “सिद्ध” अर्थात प्रभु के कार्य के लिए तत्पर और तैयार हैं कि नहीं? थिस्सलुनीकिया के विश्वासियों के समान अपने पुराने जीवन से पूर्णतः परिवर्तित होकर प्रभु की सेवा, उसके सुसमाचार के प्रचार में कार्यरत हैं कि नहीं - क्योंकि यह सभी “पवित्र लोगों” का दायित्व है। और इसके लिए आपको किसी विशेष प्रशिक्षण अथवा लंबे समय तक सिखाए जाने और अनुभव पाने की आवश्यकता नहीं है, वरन प्रभु को पूर्णतः समर्पित और उसके आज्ञाकारी होने की आवश्यकता है, जैसा हम थिस्सलुनीकिया की कलीसिया के उदाहरण से देखते हैं। उपरोक्त बातों का और प्रभु यीशु के वचनों को सीखने और पालन उनका पालन करते रहने का ध्यान रखिए। यह आपके लिए भी तथा औरों के लिए भी उन्नति का तथा परमेश्वर की महिमा का कारण ठहरेगा।

The Growth & Edification of the Church and the Believers

    In the past few articles, we have seen from Ephesians 4:11 that for the works and functioning of His Church, the Lord Jesus has set some ministries and appointed some workers for those ministries. We have seen that these ministries are related to the ministry of God’s Word in the Churches. We have also seen that just as the Lord Jesus served as a Teacher, an Evangelist, and through other ministries, and so did the Apostles in the first Church, similarly, as had been happening in the initial Churches, today too one person can serve in more than one ministry. From this fact we can infer that in the Churches, the importance is of these five ministries being steadfastly carried out, and not of individual workers being present for the ministries. In whichever Christian Believer’s life, and in the Church of the Lord Jesus these five kinds of ministries are regularly carried out, that person and that Church will continue to grow, be edified, will be useful for the Lord, and will serve to glorify God. After Ephesians 4:11, from verse 12-16, we find the progressively increasing effects of these ministries in the Church and in a Believer’s life, in a step-by-step manner. The first effect, or, the beginning of the steps in growth after the fulfilling of Ephesians 4:11 is in Ephesians 4:12, “for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ.” In this verse we find three effects, or the first three steps:

    * Equipping of saints [the original Greek word translated as ‘Equipping’ means being fully made ready; therefore, some translations have used ‘prepared’, or ‘perfected’, or ‘trained’ instead of ‘Equipping’].

    * Work of ministry

    * Edifying of the body of Christ

    A progression can be seen here - the saints, i.e., the Christian Believers or the children of God by Faith, will be perfected or prepared, these perfected or prepared people of God will carry out their ministries worthily and diligently, which will result in the growth and edification of the Church and their own lives. Here, ‘equipping’ does not mean simply being provided with required ways and methods, nor ‘perfected’ means being made pure, sinless, and spotless, spiritually; but being ready and prepared to do the work assigned by the Lord, prepared to sincerely carry out the entrusted ministry. Also take note that these three steps or effects of 4:12 are for all “saints”, i.e., all the Christian Believers, and not just for a select few. This means that by the steadfast carrying out of the five ministries of Ephesians 4:11, will result in the Church and the saints of the Church being uplifted and prepared to carry out their other ministries, prepared beforehand by God for them (Ephesians 2:10), and for which the Holy Spirit has given them various gifts (1 Corinthians 12:7-11).

    A practical example of this is the Church of Thessalonica; we read about its being established in Acts 17:1-9. It is written in Acts 17:2-4, that Paul’s ministry in Thessalonica was only of “three Sabbaths”, which means a duration of two or at most three weeks. In this time period, Paul shared the gospel with them and taught God’s Word also, as a result many people accepted the Lord Jesus as their savior. In the first chapter of the first letter written by Paul to this Church, we see the effects that have been mentioned in Ephesians 4:12, being practically evident in that Church. This Church, established consequent to a ministry of just two or three weeks, Paul himself testifies for them that in the midst of a lot of persecution and problems, they still gladly accepted God’s Word, they not only became an example for the Christian Believers in Macedonia and Achaia, but they also preached the Word in those regions so diligently, that the report of their turning away from idols, coming into the Christian Faith, and preparing for the second coming of the Lord spread to the surrounding regions (1 Thessalonians 1:6-10). In other words, as soon as God the Holy Spirit got the freedom and opportunity to fulfill the ministries of Ephesians 4:11 amongst the Thessalonians, the initial steps of Ephesians 4:12 and the effects of the subsequent verses started becoming readily evident in that Church and the Believers in it.

    If you are a Christian Believer, then you have an opportunity and the time to examine and evaluate your life and ascertain whether or not you are ‘prepared’ or ‘perfected’ for carrying out the Lord’s work? Like those initial Believers in Thessalonica, have you completely turned away from your old worldly life and have become involved in carrying out the ministry given by God to you; since this is the responsibility of every “saint” of God. For doing this, as we see from the life of the Thessalonian Believers, you do not need any special training or being taught for a long time. All that is required is to be fully surrendered and committed to being obedient to the Lord God and His Word. As a Believer, take care to learn the Word of God and follow the aforementioned things. By doing this, you will grow and be edified, and through you others too will come to the Lord, grow in Him, be edified, and God will be glorified.

    If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord Jesus, then take a decision in its favor now to secure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. The Lord's security and blessings are present where there is obedience of the Lord, where His Word is honored and followed. If you are still not Born Again, have not obtained salvation, or have not asked the Lord Jesus for forgiveness for your sins, then you have the time and opportunity to do so right now. Ask the Lord Jesus to forgive your sins, and voluntarily and sincerely surrender yourselves into His hands - this is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. All you have to do is say a short prayer, voluntarily and with a sincere heart, with heartfelt repentance for your sins, and a fully submissive attitude. You can do this in this manner, “Lord Jesus, I confess that I have disobeyed You, and have knowingly or unknowingly, in mind, in thought, in attitude, and in deeds, committed sins. I believe that you have fully borne the punishment of my sins by your sacrifice on the cross, and have paid the full price of those sins for all eternity. Please forgive my sins, change my heart and mind towards you, and make me your disciple, take me with you." God longs for your company and wants to see you blessed, but to make this possible, is your personal decision. One prayer said with a sincere and surrendered heart will turn your present and future, your life here on earth and in the next world, forever and make you heavenly and blessed. Will you not say this prayer now, while you have the time and opportunity to do so? The decision is yours.

पिछले लेख में हमने प्रभु यीशु तथा प्रेरितों के जीवनों और सम्बन्धित हवालों से देखा था कि उन्होंने परमेश्वर के वचन का प्रचार करने और शिक्षा देने की इस सेवकाई का निर्वाह किस प्रकार से किया था। उनके द्वारा अपनाई गई विधि हमारे लिए भी इसी प्रकार से बाइबल के अनुसार यह सेवकाई करने का नमूना प्रस्तुत करता है; क्योंकि इसी नमूने के अनुसार इस सेवकाई का निर्वाह करने के द्वारा कलीसियाओं तथा मसीही विश्वासियों में बहुत तेज़ी से वृद्धि हुई, जो परमेश्वर की शिक्षाओं में भली-भाँति दृढ़ और स्थापित थे, यडेपि उनके पास हमारी जैसी सुविधाएं नहीं थीं, और न ही संकलित की गई तथा छापी गई सम्पूर्ण बाइबल थी। आज भी हम कुछ अन्य उदाहरणों को देखेंगे, तथा साथ ही खरी शिक्षा और परमेश्वर के वास्तविक वचन के प्रचार और शिक्षाओं का मनुष्यों पर होने वाले प्रभाव के बारे में देखेंगे। 

परमेश्वर पवित्र आत्मा की अगुवाई में पौलुस ने लोगों को वचन की शिक्षा देने के संदर्भ तिमुथियुस को लिखा था:

* अपने आप को परमेश्वर का ग्रहण योग्य और ऐसा काम करने वाला ठहराने का प्रयत्न कर, जो लज्ज़ित होने न पाए, और जो सत्य के वचन को ठीक रीति से काम में लाता हो। पर अशुद्ध बकवाद से बचा रह; क्योंकि ऐसे लोग और भी अभक्ति में बढ़ते जाएंगे (2 तीमुथियुस 2:15-16)। अर्थात, वचन की सेवकाई करने वाले सेवक को यह ध्यान रखना है कि वह वचन को अपने स्वार्थ या इच्छा-पूर्ति के लिए नहीं, वरन, ठीक रीति से जो परमेश्वर को ग्रहण योग्य हो, काम में लाए; और अशुद्ध बकवाद से बचा रहे। उसका जीवन और व्यवहार किसी भी रीति से लज्जित करने वाला न हो, और वह तथा उसका कार्य मनुष्यों को नहीं वरन परमेश्वर को ग्रहण योग्य हो - परमेश्वर के कहे और इच्छा के अनुसार हों, न कि लोगों को लुभाने वाला हो।  

* कि तू वचन को प्रचार कर; समय और असमय तैयार रह, सब प्रकार की सहनशीलता, और शिक्षा के साथ उलाहना दे, और डांट, और समझा। क्योंकि ऐसा समय आएगा, कि लोग खरा उपदेश न सह सकेंगे पर कानों की खुजली के कारण अपनी अभिलाषाओं के अनुसार अपने लिये बहुतेरे उपदेशक बटोर लेंगे। और अपने कान सत्य से फेरकर कथा-कहानियों पर लगाएंगे। पर तू सब बातों में सावधान रह, दुख उठा, सुसमाचार प्रचार का काम कर और अपनी सेवा को पूरा कर (2 तीमुथियुस 4:2-5)। अर्थात, वचन की शिक्षा देने वाले को हर समय अपने आप को तैयार रखना चाहिए, और धैर्य के साथ इस सेवकाई को निभाना चाहिए। वचन के शिक्षक को, वचन को समझाने के लिए यदि आवश्यकता पड़े तो लोगों को उलाहना देने और डांटने की भी अनुमति है, वरन, ऐसा करना उनकी ज़िम्मेदारी है; इसमें निहित है कि वचन की शिक्षा पाने वालों को उलाहना और डाँट सुनने के लिए भी तैयार और नम्र रहना चाहिए। वचन के शिक्षक को सार्थक और सच्ची बातों के द्वारा खराई से परमेश्वर की बातों, निर्देशों, और शिक्षाओं को लोगों तक पहुँचाना है, चाहे वे कटु सत्य ही क्यों न हों। उसे लुभावनी बातें सुनाकर लोगों से प्रशंसा और प्रमुख स्थान पाने से बच कर रहना है। चाहे यह सब करने के लिए उसे लोगों से विरोध का सामना ही क्यों न करना पड़े, दुख ही क्यों न उठाने पड़ें। 

* हर एक पवित्रशास्त्र परमेश्वर की प्रेरणा से रचा गया है और उपदेश, और समझाने, और सुधारने, और धर्म की शिक्षा के लिये लाभदायक है। ताकि परमेश्वर का जन सिद्ध बने, और हर एक भले काम के लिये तत्पर हो जाए (2 तीमुथियुस 3:16-17)। अर्थात मसीही शिक्षक को परमेश्वर की शिक्षाओं को लोगों तक पहुँचाने के लिए परमेश्वर के वचन ही का प्रयोग करना चाहिए, जिसे स्मरण करवाने, सिखाने, और समझाने के लिए प्रत्येक मसीही विश्वासी में पवित्र आत्मा निवास करता है (यूहन्ना 14:26; यूहन्ना 16:13-14; 1 कुरिन्थियों 2:10-13)। परमेश्वर के वचन के प्रयोग के द्वारा ही लोग परमेश्वर की वास्तविक शिक्षाओं को सीखने पाते हैं, और उसी से वे सिद्ध बनकर भले कार्यों के लिए तैयार होने पाते हैं। 

कल के तथा आज के लेखों के सभी उदाहरणों में हम वचन की शिक्षा से संबंधित कहीं किसी नाटकीय व्यवहार, या सांसारिक अथवा शारीरिक लाभ की बातों को नहीं पाते हैं। हर उदाहरण परमेश्वर के वचन के खराई से प्रयोग, और पवित्र आत्मा की सामर्थ्य के साथ था, जिसका प्रमाण लोगों के जीवन बदलने के द्वारा देखा गया, न कि कुछ समय के लिए कुछ अच्छा अनुभव हुआ, सुनने में अच्छा लगा, और फिर जीवन बदले बिना ही व्यक्ति अपनी पहले की से दशा में फिर से पहुँच गया। वचन को सुनने और मानने वालों ने इसके लिए क्लेश सहना भी स्वीकार किया, किन्तु वचन की खराई और सच्चाई से पीछे नहीं हटे, चाहे इसकी उन्हें कोई भी कीमत क्यों न चुकानी पड़े। परमेश्वर की ओर से नियुक्त शिक्षक जब परमेश्वर पवित्र आत्मा की सामर्थ्य से परमेश्वर के वचन को बताते और सिखाते हैं, तो वह ‘मनुष्य की अभिलाषाओं के अनुसार कानों की खुजली’ मिटाने वाली कथा-कहानियों का प्रचार नहीं होता है (2 तिमुथियुस 4:3-4), वरन मन और जीवन बदलने वाली सामर्थी शिक्षाएं, परमेश्वर की दोधारी तलवार होता है जो “जीव, और आत्मा को, और गांठ गांठ, और गूदे गूदे को अलग कर के, वार पार छेदता है; और मन की भावनाओं और विचारों को जांचता है” (इब्रानियों 4:12)।

यदि आप मसीही विश्वासी हैं, और आपको लोगों को परमेश्वर के वचन की शिक्षा देने का दायित्व मिल है, परमेश्वर ने आपके लिए यह सेवकाई निर्धारित की है, तो अपनी सेवकाई के लिए परमेश्वर से यशायाह 50:4 आपके लिए पूरा करना माँगिए। उपरोक्त बातों और प्रभु यीशु के शिक्षा देने के उदाहरण का ध्यान रखिए और पालन कीजिए। यह आपके लिए भी तथा औरों के लिए भी उन्नति का कारण ठहरेगा। आप जितना वचन को औरों के साथ बाँटेंगे, आप पाएंगे के आप स्वयं भी वचन की समझ और गहराई में उतना अधिक बढ़ते चले जा रहे हैं, और परमेश्वर अपने वचन के गूढ़ भेद आप पर और भी अधिक प्रकट करता जा रहा है। परंतु सावधान रहिए, ऐसा होने से शैतान आपके अन्दर कोई घमण्ड न ले आए, आप अपने आप को विद्वान और विशिष्ट न समझने लगें; जहाँ घमंड होगा, वहाँ बहुत शीघ्र ही पतन भी आ जाएगा।

The Ministry of Teachers (2)

In the previous article we had seen the examples and references from the life and ministry of the Lord Jesus and the Apostles about how they carried out the ministry of teaching and preaching God's Word. Their way of doing this provides to us the Biblically pattern to carry out this ministry today; since it was through this pattern that the Church and the Christian Believers grew rapidly, well versed in the teachings of God, although they did not have the kind of facilities and the whole of the compiled and printed Bible available to them. We will see more examples today, and also see the effects of teaching and preaching the actual Word of God.

Under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, Paul wrote to Timothy some things about teaching God’s Word to the people:

* Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. But shun profane and idle babblings, for they will increase to more ungodliness (2 Timothy 2:15-16). That is to say that the teacher of God’s Word has to bear in mind that he has to use God’s Word not as per his own desire and purposes, but properly and in a manner approved by God; and should refrain from teaching vain and frivolous things. The teacher’s life and behavior should in no way be a cause of any shame, and his works, whether or not they are acceptable to man, should always be acceptable to God - should be according to God’s will, according to what God has said and asked, instead of being meant to attract men.

* Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables. But you be watchful in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry (2 Timothy 4:2-5). The teacher of God’s Word should always be ready, prepared, and willing to carry out this ministry, and should patiently fulfill this responsibility. Those appointed by God to this ministry, have God’s permission and instruction to rebuke and exhort the people, if necessary. Rather it is their responsibility to do so; implied in this instruction is the fact that those studying God’s Word should be willing, humble, and submissive to being rebuked and exhorted for learning by their teacher, as and when required. The teacher of God’s Word has to teach the Biblical truths, and the meaningful facts sincerely and honestly, even though they may be harsh and bitter; even if he has to face the opposition of the people and suffer for speaking the truth. The teacher is not to add popular and attractive things to gain people’s commendation and status.

* All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work (2 Timothy 3:16-17). The teacher of God’s Word is to use the Word of God to explain and expound God’s Word. God the Holy Spirit resides in every Christian Believer to help them recall, remember, learn, and understand God’s Word (John 14:26; John 16:13-14; 1 Corinthians 2:10-13). God’s people are able to learn the true teachings of God only from the Word of God; only God’s Word can make them complete and thoroughly equipped for every good work.

In all of the examples we have seen in yesterday's and today's article, we do not find any sanction or mention of the use of dramatic behavior and methods for teaching God’s Word, or of the teachers doing this for the sake of worldly benefits and temporal gains. Every example is of using God’s Word with honesty and sincerity, through the power of the Holy Spirit. This is proved by the changed lives of those who hear and follow it; unlike with the spurious and superficial word given for “itching ears”, which sounds good, appealing, and attractive to hear, but does not produce any lasting change in lives, and soon the hearers revert back to their former ways and state. Those who are impacted by the true preaching of God’s Word, become willing to suffer problems and persecution for it, but are not willing to step back and turn away from the truth and from obeying it, no matter what be the cost. When God’s appointed teachers, through the power of the Holy Spirit, tell and teach the truth of God’s Word, then it is not about stories and worldly things according to people’s desire to satisfy their ‘itching ears’ (2 Timothy 4:3-4). Rather they are powerful teachings that cut into and change the hearts and minds of people, like a double-edged sword ...piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart (Hebrews 4:12).

If you are a Christian Believer, and you have been given the responsibility of teaching God’s Word, God has appointed you to this ministry, then ask God to fulfill Isaiah 50:4 for you to help you carry out your ministry. Always keep the example of the Lord Jesus’s teaching techniques, and the above-mentioned things from God’s Word in mind and follow them. This will help you and others to grow in Spiritual lives. The more you share God’s Word with others, the more you will increase in your understanding of God’s Word, and you will find that God will continue to share the deep things and secrets of His Word with you. But be very careful, when this happens, Satan will also try to bring pride in you by making you feel like a very learned, knowledgeable, and specially gifted person. And, wherever there is pride, decline and destruction soon follow.

I believe that you have fully borne the punishment of my sins by your sacrifice on the cross, and have paid the full price of those sins for all eternity. Please forgive my sins, change my heart and mind towards you, and make me your disciple, take me with you." शिक्षकों की सेवकाई (1)

हम पिछले लेखों में इफिसियों 4:11 में कलीसिया की उन्नति के लिए प्रभु द्वारा नियुक्त पाँच प्रकार के सेवकों तथा उनकी सेवकाइयों के बारे में देखते आ रहे हैं। हम देख चुके हैं कि ये पाँचों सेवकाइयां परमेश्वर के वचन की सेवकाई से संबंधित हैं; और हमने वचन से यह भी देखा है कि एक ही व्यक्ति एक से अधिक प्रकार की सेवकाई कर सकता है, और करता रहा है। पिछले लेख में हमने इनमें से पांचवें, उपदेशक, अर्थात शिक्षक होने के बारे में देखा था, और देखा था कि कैसे प्रभु यीशु भी एक शिक्षक, सुसमाचार प्रचारक, और अन्य सेवकाइयों को करने वाले जाने जाते थे। इसी प्रकार से पहली कलीसिया में प्रेरित भी एक से अधिक प्रकार की सेवकाइयों को करते थे। पिछले लेख में हमने परमेश्वर के वचन से पाँचवीं सेवकाई, शिक्षक और उपदेशक के बार में देखा था। आज हम वचन से ही उचित रीति से वचन की शिक्षा दिए जाने और वचन की सही शिक्षा के लोगों के जीवनों पर प्रभावों के कुछ उदाहरणों को देखते हैं।

हम बाइबल से कुछ उदाहरणों को देखते हैं:

* प्रभु यीशु मसीह ने जब लोगों को सिखाया, तब, फरीसियों और शास्त्रियों के समान नहीं, परंतु अधिकारी के समान, और अधिकार के साथ सिखाया (मत्ती 7:28-29; मरकुस 1:22; लूका 4:32)। अर्थात प्रभु यीशु ने वचन को ‘किताबी या मानवीय’ ज्ञान के अनुसार नहीं वरन वचन की गहराई से समझ और दृढ़ता के साथ सिखाया। किन्तु साथ ही वह लोगों को उनकी समझ के अनुसार भी सिखाता था, और परमेश्वर की शिक्षाओं को सरल दृष्टांतों के द्वारा लोगों को समझाता था (मरकुस 4:33-34)। मसीही शिक्षक को वचन की शिक्षा देने की विधि का यही उदाहरण लेकर चलना चाहिए। 

* पौलुस ने कुरिन्थुस की मण्डली को उन्हें उससे मिली सुसमाचार की शिक्षा के विषय स्मरण दिलाया, और हे भाइयों, जब मैं परमेश्वर का भेद सुनाता हुआ तुम्हारे पास आया, तो वचन या ज्ञान की उत्तमता के साथ नहीं आया। और मेरे वचन, और मेरे प्रचार में ज्ञान की लुभाने वाली बातें नहीं; परन्तु आत्मा और सामर्थ्य का प्रमाण था। इसलिये कि तुम्हारा विश्वास मनुष्यों के ज्ञान पर नहीं, परन्तु परमेश्वर की सामर्थ्य पर निर्भर हो (1 कुरिन्थियों 2:1, 4-5)। अर्थात, पौलुस जैसे ज्ञानवान और पवित्र शास्त्र की उत्तम शिक्षा पाए हुए व्यक्ति के द्वारा पवित्र आत्मा की अगुवाई में जो सुसमाचार की शिक्षा दी गई, वह आत्मा की सामर्थ्य से तो थी, किन्तु उसकी शिक्षाओं में ज्ञान बघारने की बातें, या संसार के ज्ञान की बातें नहीं थीं। वह परमेश्वर के वचन में अपनी ओर से कुछ नहीं जोड़ता था, वचन को रोचक या आकर्षक बनाने के प्रयास नहीं करता था, सांसारिक बातों और ज्ञान को वचन में नहीं मिलाता था; वह केवल वचन के सत्य को प्रकट करता था, और लोगों में शेष कार्य परमेश्वर पवित्र आत्मा करता था (2 कुरिन्थियों 4:2, 6)।  

* इसी प्रकार थिस्सलुनीकिया की मसीही मण्डली को पौलुस ने लिखा, क्योंकि हमारा सुसमाचार तुम्हारे पास न केवल वचन मात्र ही में वरन सामर्थ्य और पवित्र आत्मा, और बड़े निश्चय के साथ पहुंचा है; जैसा तुम जानते हो, कि हम तुम्हारे लिये तुम में कैसे बन गए थे। और तुम बड़े क्लेश में पवित्र आत्मा के आनन्द के साथ वचन को मान कर हमारी और प्रभु की सी चाल चलने लगे (1 थिस्स्लुनीकियों 1:5, 6)। यहाँ पर भी हम देखते हैं कि पौलुस द्वारा वचन की शिक्षा मनुष्य के ज्ञान के द्वारा नहीं, वरन, पवित्र आत्मा की सामर्थ्य और बड़ी दृढ़ता से दी गई। साथ ही हम यह भी देखते हैं कि परमेश्वर के वचन का पालन करने में थिस्सलुनीकिया के मसीही विश्वासियों को क्लेश तो उठाना पड़ा, किन्तु साथ ही उनमें पवित्र आत्मा का आनंद भी था, और उनके जीवन में परिवर्तन आया, और वे प्रभु की सी चाल चलने लगे - जो उन्हें मिली वचन की शिक्षा के सच्चे, खरे, और परमेश्वर की ओर से होने का प्रमाण है।

अगले लेख में हम परमेश्वर के वचन से वचन की शिक्षा देने और सम्बन्धित उदाहरणों को, तथा मनुष्यों के जीवन में उस खरी शिक्षा के परिणामों के बारे में कुछ और देखेंगे। 

यदि आपने अभी तक प्रभु की शिष्यता को स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी उसके पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। यदि आपने अभी तक नया जन्म, उद्धार नहीं पाया है, प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा नहीं माँगी है, तो अभी आपके पास समय और अवसर है कि यह कर लें। प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” परमेश्वर आपके साथ संगति रखने की बहुत लालसा रखता है तथा आपको आशीषित देखना चाहता है, लेकिन इसे सम्भव करना आपका व्यक्तिगत निर्णय है। सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी। क्या आप अभी समय और अवसर होते हुए, इस प्रार्थना को नहीं करेंगे? निर्णय आपका है।

English Translation

The Ministry of Teachers (1)

Since the past few articles, we have been seeing from Ephesians 4:11 that for the works and functioning of His Church, the Lord Jesus has set some ministries and appointed some workers for those ministries. We have seen that these ministries are related to the ministry of God’s Word in the Churches. We have also seen that just as the Lord Jesus served as a Teacher, an Evangelist, and through other ministries as well, and so did the Apostles in the first Church, similarly one person can serve in more than one ministry. In the last article we had seen about the fifth ministry and its workers, the Teachers and Preachers. Today, from God’s Word, we will look about the Biblical way of teaching God’s Word, and the effects the correct teachings of God’s Word have on the lives of the people.

Let us consider some examples from the Bible:

* When the Lord Jesus taught the people, it was not as the Pharisees and the Scribes used to do; He taught with authority (Matthew 7:28-29; Mark 1:22; Luke 4:32). In other words, the Lord Jesus did not give them any “bookish” teachings or teachings through any human knowledge, but taught with a deep and proper understanding of God’s Word with a sense of being deeply rooted in it. But He also taught them according to the level of understanding of the people - how much and what all they could grasp (Mark 4:33-34). Every Christian Teacher of God’s Word should teach bearing these things in mind.

* Paul reminded the Church or Assembly in Corinth, how he taught them, And I, brethren, when I came to you, did not come with excellence of speech or of wisdom declaring to you the testimony of God. And my speech and my preaching were not with persuasive words of human wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power, that your faith should not be in the wisdom of men but in the power of God (1 Corinthians 2:1, 4-5). In other words, under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, the gospel and teachings given by Paul, who was well-learned and very knowledgeable about the Scriptures, were with the power of the Spirit, did not contain any worldly knowledge, nor was it to show-off his own knowledge. Paul never added anything to God’s Word from his own side, nor did he attempt to make the teachings entertaining and attractive through adding frivolous and worldly things. Paul only brought forth the truth of God’s Word, and left it for the Holy Spirit to do the rest amongst the people (2 Corinthians 4:2, 6).

* Similarly, to the Church in Thessalonica, Paul wrote, For our gospel did not come to you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Spirit and in much assurance, as you know what kind of men we were among you for your sake. And you became followers of us and of the Lord, having received the word in much affliction, with joy of the Holy Spirit (1 Thessalonians 1:5-6). Here too we see that the teaching of God’s Word by Paul was not casual or according to the ways and knowledge of the world, but through the power of the Holy Spirit in much firmness or assurance. We also see that the Thessalonian Believers had to suffer problems and persecutions in obeying God’s Word, but they also received the joy of the Holy Spirit, their lives were changed, and they sincerely started to follow the Lord - which was the proof of their having received true and factual teachings, from God.

In the next article we will see some more examples and related references of giving the pure teachings of God's Word, and of the effects this has on man's life.

If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord Jesus, then take a decision in its favor now to secure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. The Lord's security and blessings are present where there is obedience of the Lord, where His Word is honored and followed. If you are still not Born Again, have not obtained salvation, or have not asked the Lord Jesus for forgiveness for your sins, then you have the time and opportunity to do so right now. Ask the Lord Jesus to forgive your sins, and voluntarily and sincerely surrender yourselves into His hands - this is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. All you have to do is say a short prayer, voluntarily and with a sincere heart, with heartfelt repentance for your sins, and a fully submissive attitude. You can do this in this manner, “Lord Jesus, I confess that I have disobeyed You, and have knowingly or unknowingly, in mind, in thought, in attitude, and in deeds, committed sins. I believe that you have fully borne the punishment of my sins by your sacrifice on the cross, and have paid the full price of those sins for all eternity. Please forgive my sins, change my heart and mind towards you, and make me your disciple, take me with you." God longs for your company and wants to see you blessed, but to make this possible, is your personal decision. One prayer said with a sincere and surrendered heart will turn your present and future, your life here on earth and in the next world, forever and make you heavenly and blessed. Will you not say this prayer now, while you have the time and opportunity to do so? The decision is yours.
