रूपक – 1 - परमेश्वर का परिवार
प्रत्येक नया जन्म पाया हुआ मसीही विश्वासी, जो कुछ भी उसे परमेश्वर ने दिया है, उसका भण्डारी है, और इसलिए उसके लिए यह अनिवार्य है कि परमेश्वर ने जो दिया है, वह उसके बारे में सीखे। वर्तमान में हम प्रभु यीशु की कलीसिया और अन्य विश्वासियों के साथ सहभागिता, अर्थात, परमेश्वर के उस परिवार के बारे में सीख रहे हैं, जिस में परमेश्वर ने विश्वासी को रखा है। बाइबल में दिए गए कलीसिया के रूपकों में होकर हम उसकी कलीसिया के लिए प्रभु के प्रयोजन एवं उद्देश्यों को समझने का प्रयास करेंगे। बाइबल में कलीसिया के लिए उपयोग किये गए विभिन्न रूपक यह सीखने और समझने में हमारी सहायता करते हैं कि परमेश्वर की दृष्टि में कलीसिया क्या है, और विश्वासियों को कलीसिया में किस प्रकार से व्यवहार करना चाहिए। हमारी शिक्षा के लिए इन रूपकों को किसी विशेष क्रम में नहीं लिया अथवा रखा गया है, सभी रूपक समान ही महत्वपूर्ण हैं, सभी में मसीही जीवन से संबंधित कुछ आवश्यक शिक्षाएं हैं। जिस रूपक को हम आज देखेंगे, वह है कलीसिया का परमेश्वर का परिवार होना।
(1) परमेश्वर का परिवार:
प्रभु यीशु ने, और परमेश्वर पिता, तथा पवित्र आत्मा, सभी ने प्रभु के लोगों को, उसकी कलीसिया को, प्रभु का परिवार कहा है। इस संदर्भ में बाइबल के कुछ पद देखिए:
प्रभु यीशु ने कहा: “और कौन है मेरे भाई? और अपने चेलों की ओर अपना हाथ बढ़ा कर कहा; देखो, मेरी माता और मेरे भाई ये हैं। क्योंकि जो कोई मेरे स्वर्गीय पिता की इच्छा पर चले, वही मेरा भाई और बहिन और माता है” (मत्ती 12:49-50)।
परमेश्वर पिता कहता है: “इसलिये प्रभु कहता है, कि उन के बीच में से निकलो और अलग रहो; और अशुद्ध वस्तु को मत छूओ, तो मैं तुम्हें ग्रहण करूंगा। और तुम्हारा पिता होऊंगा, और तुम मेरे बेटे और बेटियां होगे: यह सर्वशक्तिमान प्रभु परमेश्वर का वचन है” (2 कुरिन्थियों 6:17-18)।
परमेश्वर पवित्र आत्मा ने लिखवाया:
“परन्तु जितनों ने उसे ग्रहण किया, उसने उन्हें परमेश्वर के सन्तान होने का अधिकार दिया, अर्थात उन्हें जो उसके नाम पर विश्वास रखते हैं” (यूहन्ना 1:12)।
“आत्मा आप ही हमारी आत्मा के साथ गवाही देता है, कि हम परमेश्वर की सन्तान हैं। और यदि सन्तान हैं, तो वारिस भी, वरन परमेश्वर के वारिस और मसीह के संगी वारिस हैं, जब कि हम उसके साथ दुख उठाएं कि उसके साथ महिमा भी पाएं” (रोमियों 8:16-17)।
“इसलिये तुम अब विदेशी और मुसाफिर नहीं रहे, परन्तु पवित्र लोगों के संगी स्वदेशी और परमेश्वर के घराने के हो गए” (इफिसियों 2:19)।
उपरोक्त पदों से हम सीखते हैं कि प्रभु की कलीसिया के सदस्य होने का एक परिणाम है कि मसीही विश्वासी तुरंत ही परमेश्वर की संतान, उसके परिवार के अंग भी बन जाते हैं। उन्हें यह आदर उनके किसी कार्य अथवा योग्यता के आधार पर नहीं, और न ही किसी परिवार-विशेष में जन्म लेने के कारण, अथवा किसी धर्म-विशेष के अंतर्गत जन्म लेने के कारण होता है; वरन केवल उनके द्वारा किए गए पापों से पश्चाताप, और प्रभु पर विश्वास के कारण उन्हें परमेश्वर द्वारा प्रदान किया जाता है (यूहन्ना 1:12; इफिसियों 2:19)। परमेश्वर की संतान बनने पर यह मसीही विश्वासी का कर्तव्य है कि वह सँसार से और सँसार की अशुद्धता से अपने आप को पृथक रखे (2 कुरिन्थियों 5:15, 17); और तब परमेश्वर उनसे एक पिता के समान (2 कुरिन्थियों 6:17-18); तथा प्रभु यीशु अपने परिवार के सदस्यों के समान (मत्ती 12:49-50) उससे व्यवहार करता है। वे लोग, जो अपने पृथ्वी के परिवार से बढ़कर महत्व परमेश्वर के परिवार का सदस्य होने को देते हैं, उन्हें इस पृथ्वी पर भी और स्वर्ग में भी उत्तम प्रतिफल मिलता है, वे अनेकों परिवारों के सदस्य बन जाते हैं (मरकुस 10:29-31)। लेकिन साथ ही उनका यह दायित्व भी है कि वे अपने इस आत्मिक परिवार के गौरव और गरिमा को बना कर रखें; उसकी भलाई और उन्नति के लिए कार्य करें; आपस में प्रेम और एक-मनता को बनाएं रखें; तथा ध्यान रखें कि उनके जीवन और व्यवहार के कारण न तो प्रभु पर और न ही इस आत्मिक परिवार की कोई बदनामी हो।
प्रकट है कि कोई भी अपने आप को तब तक परमेश्वर की संतान, प्रभु के परिवार का सदस्य नहीं बना सकता है, जब तक परमेश्वर स्वयं उसे यह आदर प्रदान न करे। किसी के भी द्वारा, किसी भी मानवीय योजना अथवा विधि से यह कर पाना संभव नहीं है। इस प्रकार से परमेश्वर की संतान होने के इस रूपक से हम कलीसिया के लिए परमेश्वर के प्रयोजन, उसके उद्देश्य के विषय क्या सीखते हैं? थोड़ा थम कर, रोमियों 8:16-17 पर कुछ ध्यान से विचार, और इसके निहितार्थ पर गंभीरता से मनन कीजिए। क्या आप कभी कल्पना भी कर सकते हैं कि परमेश्वर आपको आपकी किसी भी योग्यता, गुण, अथवा कार्य के लिए मसीह यीशु का संगी वारिस, उसकी महिमा का संभागी बना सकता है? किन्तु आपके द्वारा अपने पापों से पश्चाताप करने, प्रभु यीशु मसीह पर विश्वास करने और अपना जीवन उसे समर्पित करने के द्वारा परमेश्वर आपको कैसा अद्भुत, कल्पना से भी कहीं बढ़कर आदर देना चाहता है - आपको, उसकी कलीसिया का सदस्य, अपने स्वर्गीय राज्य में मसीह यीशु का संगी वारिस और मसीह की महिमा का संभागी बनाना चाहता है।
यदि आप मसीही हैं तो आपके अपने आप को जाँचने के लिए कुछ बातें इस रूपक से सामने आती हैं: क्या आप परमेश्वर की संतान, उसकी कलीसिया के सदस्य, पापों से पश्चाताप और प्रभु में विश्वास के द्वारा बने हैं; या किसी अन्य मानवीय प्रक्रिया के निर्वाह अथवा आधार पर अपने आप को प्रभु की कलीसिया का सदस्य समझते हैं? क्या आप ने अपने आप को संसार और संसार की बातों से पृथक किया है? परमेश्वर की संतान होने के नाते क्या आप स्वर्गीय पिता परमेश्वर की इच्छा पर चलते हैं? परमेश्वर के घराने का व्यक्ति होने के नाते आपको अपने दायित्वों का निर्वाह करना भी अनिवार्य है, अन्यथा संसार के लोगों के समान आपका जीवन और व्यवहार न केवल आपके वास्तविक मसीही विश्वासी होने पर, वरन आप अपना अनन्तकाल कहाँ बिताएंगे, पर भी एक बड़ा प्रश्न चिह्न लगाता है, जिसका अभी समय तथा अवसर रहते निवारण करना आप के लिए अनिवार्य है।
यदि आपने प्रभु की शिष्यता को अभी तक स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी प्रभु यीशु के पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। स्वेच्छा से अपने पापों के लिये पश्चाताप करके, प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु, मैं अपने पापों के लिए पश्चातापी हूँ, उनके लिए आप से क्षमा माँगता हूँ। मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मुझे और मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी।

Metaphor – 1 - Family of God
Every Born-Again Christian Believer is a steward of whatever God has given to him, and therefore, it is essential for him to learn about what God has given to him. Presently we are learning about the Church of the Lord Jesus and the Believer’s fellowship with other Believers, i.e., the family of God in which God has placed the Believers. The various metaphors used in the Bible for the Church help us in learning and understanding what the Church is in the eyes of God, and how the Believers are to conduct themselves in the Church. For our learning here, these metaphors have not been placed or taken up in any particular order; every metaphor is as important as any other, and every one of them brings forth some teaching or the other about the Christian Believer’s life. The metaphor that we will consider today is that of the Church being the family of God.
(1) The Family of God
The Lord Jesus Christ, God the Father, and God the Holy Spirit, all have called the people of the Lord, His Church, as members of the family of the Lord God. Consider some related verses from the Bible:
The Lord Jesus said: “And He stretched out His hand toward His disciples and said, "Here are My mother and My brothers! For whoever does the will of My Father in heaven is My brother and sister and mother."” (Matthew 12:49-50).
God the Father says: “Therefore Come out from among them And be separate, says the Lord. Do not touch what is unclean, And I will receive you. I will be a Father to you, And you shall be My sons and daughters, Says the Lord Almighty” (2 Corinthians 6:17-18).
God the Holy Spirit had it written:
“But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name” (John 1:12).
“The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, then heirs; heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together” (Romans 8:16-17).
“Now, therefore, you are no longer strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God” (Ephesians 2:19).
From these verses we learn that one of the results of being a member of the Lord’s Church is that the Christian Believer immediately becomes a child of God and a member of God’s family. This honor is bestowed upon them by God, not because they have done anything or because of any of their abilities, nor because of their being born in a particular family or under a particular religion; but only because they have repented of their sins and accepted the Lord Jesus as their Savior and Lord (John 1:12; Ephesians 2:19). Having become a child of God, it is the Christian Believer’s responsibility to keep himself away from mixing with the world, and the defilement of the world (2 Corinthians 5:15, 17); and then God treats them as a Father (2 Corinthians 6:17-18), and the Lord Jesus accepts them as members of His family (Matthew 12:49-50). They who prefer being members of God’s family over their earthly family, are richly rewarded on earth as well as in heaven, through becoming members of numerous families (Mark 10:29-31). But then it is also their responsibility that they maintain the honor and dignity of this spiritual family; work for its good and growth; maintain mutual love and one-mindedness; and be careful that because of their life and behavior the reputation of this spiritual family is not tarnished in any manner.
It is evident that no one can make himself a child of God, a member of the family of the Lord Jesus, unless God Himself accords this status to him. It is not possible for anyone to attain to this status by any human method or plan. So, what do we learn about the purpose and work of God through this metaphor of being a child of God? Stop for a while and ponder deeply over Romans 8:16-17, and its implications. Can you even imagine that God, because of any of your abilities, characteristics, or works could have made you a joint-heir with Christ and let you share His glory? But because of your repenting of sins, accepting the Lord Jesus as your Savior and Lord, and surrendering your life to Him, God is now giving you this wonderful and exalted status, way beyond even your wildest imagination - God wants to make you, a member of His Church, a joint heir with Christ and let you share Christ’s glory in heaven.
If you are a Christian, then this metaphor puts forth some things for you to examine yourself: have you become a child of God, a member of His Church because of repenting of your sins, accepting Christ Jesus as your Lord and Savior, surrendering your life to Him to live in obedience to Him and His Word? Or, is it that because of having fulfilled certain rites, rituals and ceremonies you are assuming yourself to be an actual member of the Lord’s Church? Have you separated yourself away from the things and defilements of this world? Being members of the household of God, it is necessary for you to fulfil your God given responsibilities; else your life and behavior similar to any other person of the world will bring a big question mark not only on your actually being a Christian Believer, but also on where you will be for eternity, and it is essential to resolve this now, while there is time and opportunity.
If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord, make your decision in favor of the Lord Jesus now to ensure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. Where there is obedience to the Lord, where there is respect and obedience to His Word, there is also the blessing and protection of the Lord. Repenting of your sins, and asking the Lord Jesus for forgiveness of your sins, voluntarily and sincerely, surrendering yourself to Him - is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. You only have to say a short but sincere prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ willingly and with a penitent heart, and at the same time completely commit and submit your life to Him. You can also make this prayer and submission in words something like, “Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sins and repent of them. I thank you for taking my sins upon yourself, paying for them through your life. Because of them you died on the cross in my place, were buried, and you rose again from the grave on the third day for my salvation, and today you are the living Lord God and have freely provided to me the forgiveness, and redemption from my sins, through faith in you. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands." Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.
