    पिछले लेखों में हमने देखा है कि शैतान बहुत परिश्रम करता रहता है कि किसी न किसी रीति से परमेश्वर के वचन से छेड़-छाड़ हो, उसमें फेर-बदल किया जाए, उसे बिगाड़ा जाए। हमने न केवल उन युक्तियों को देखा है जिनके द्वारा शैतान यह करवाता है, वरन हमने एक बहुत अनपेक्षित, अविश्वसनीय, और सामान्यतः ऐसी जिस पर विचार भी नहीं जाता है बात को भी देखा है, जिसके द्वारा शैतान इस कार्य को करवाता है। यह बात है वे लोग जिनके द्वारा शैतान अपनी इन योजनाओं को कार्यान्वित करवाता है – बहुत अनपेक्षित रीति से, शैतान कलीसिया के अगुवों, प्रमुख लोगों, प्रचारकों और शिक्षकों, आदि के द्वारा, अर्थात ऐसे लोगों के द्वारा जिनके लिए उनका शैतान के हाथों का खिलौना होने के बारे में सोचा भी नहीं जाता है, अधिकांशतः उन्हें ही अपनी दुष्ट योजनाओं के निर्वाह के लिए उपयोग करता है, चाहे बहुधा अनजाने में ही वे शैतान के युक्तियों में फँस जाते हैं। आज से हम देखना आरंभ करेंगे कि शैतान ऐसा क्यों करवाना चाहता है, इस से उसे क्या लाभ होते हैं, और साथ ही कुछ अन्य संबंधित बातों को भी देखेंगे।

    हम पहले देख चुके हैं कि परमेश्वर का वचन ही हमें शैतान की कुटिल युक्तियों का सामना करने और उन पर विजयी होने की सामर्थ्य प्रदान करता है। इसीलिए बाइबल में यह निर्देश दोहराया गया है, कि परमेश्वर के वचन में न तो कुछ जोड़ें, और न उसमें से कुछ घटाएं (व्यवस्थाविवरण 4:2; नीतिवचन 30:6; प्रकाशितवाक्य 22:18-19)। बाइबल यह भी सिखाती है कि लोगों को बदलने वाला परमेश्वर का वचन है (1 थिस्सलुनीकियों 2:13), न कि किसी मनुष्य का बुद्धि और ज्ञान, उसके तर्क, या उसका वाक्पटुता के साथ प्रचार करना; वचन ही लोगों को नया जन्म पाने की ओर लेकर आता है (1 पतरस 1:23)। इसीलिए, अपने स्वर्गारोहण से ठीक पहले, प्रभु यीशु ने अपने शिष्यों से ज़ोर देकर कहा था कि जब वो सुसमाचार प्रचार करने और शिष्य बनाने के लिए जाएँगे, तो जो लोग प्रभु को स्वीकार करेंगे और उस पर विश्वास लाएँगे, शिष्यों को उन्हें “सब बातें जो मैं ने तुम्हें आज्ञा दी है, मानना सिखाओ” (मत्ती 28:20a)। प्रभु ने अपने शिष्यों को यहाँ यह अनुमति अथवा स्वतंत्रता नहीं दी कि वे प्रभु की बातों के बारे में अपने स्वयं की व्याख्या अथवा समझ को सिखाएँ; परन्तु औरों को केवल वही सिखाएँ जो उसने उन्हें सिखाया था। और अपने शिष्यों को अपने वचन स्मरण दिलाने तथा सिखाने के लिए प्रभु ने अपना पवित्र आत्मा भी उन्हें सहायक के रूप में दिया (यूहन्ना 14:16, 26); यदि प्रभु के शिष्य अपनी ही बुद्धि, समझ, और व्याख्या के अनुसार प्रभु की बातें औरों को सिखाने के लिए स्वतंत्र होते, तो फिर पवित्र आत्मा द्वारा उन्हें प्रभु के वचन को स्मरण करवाए तथा सिखाए जाने की क्या आवश्यकता होती? मसीही विश्वासी के आत्मिक हथियारों में (इफिसियों 6:13-17), जिन्हें हमें धारण किए रहना है, परमेश्वर के वचन को आत्मा की तलवार कहा गया है – वही वार करने का हमारा एकमात्र हथियार है। यह इसलिए क्योंकि केवल वही है जो मनुष्य के अन्दर गहराई से घुस पाता है कि उसके “जीव, और आत्मा को, और गांठ गांठ, और गूदे गूदे को अलग कर के, वार पार छेदता है; और मन की भावनाओं और विचारों को जांचता है” (इब्रानियों 4:12)। परमेश्वर का यह वचन इसलिए दिया गया है कि “तुझे मसीह पर विश्वास करने से उद्धार प्राप्त करने के लिये बुद्धिमान बना सकता है”, और “उपदेश, और समझाने, और सुधारने, और धर्म की शिक्षा के लिये” है, जिससे कि “परमेश्वर का जन सिद्ध बने, और हर एक भले काम के लिये तत्‍पर हो जाए” (2 तीमुथियुस 3:15-17)।

    हम इसी वचन के द्वारा अपने उद्धारकर्ता प्रभु यीशु के बारे सीखते हैं। इस वचन से प्रभु के बारे में मिलने वाली जानकारी में होकर परमेश्वर ने हमें जीवन और भक्ति से संबंधित सभी बातें प्रदान की हैं, हम बहुमूल्य प्रतिज्ञाएँ दी हैं, ईश्वरीय स्वभाव का संभागी बनाने का मार्ग दिया है, और सँसार की भ्रष्टता से बच कर निकलने का मार्ग दिया है (2 पतरस 1:3-4)। जब यह वचन हमारे हृदयों में होता है तो हमें पाप करने से रोकता है (भजन 119:11), और हमारे पाँवों को फिसलने से बचाता है (भजन 37:31)। हम बाइबल में बारम्बार यह देखते हैं कि हमेशा ही परमेश्वर का वचन ही सामर्थी और प्रभावकारी होता है, न कि किसी मनुष्य द्वारा और आकर्षक, रोचक, तथा लुभावनी बनाने के लिए बाइबल की फेर-बदल की गई बातें और शिक्षाएँ। आने वाले लेखों में हम इसके बारे में थोड़ा और पौलुस के सुसमाचार प्रचार के शैली के द्वारा देखेंगे।

    मार्टिन लूथर ने, जो मसीही सुधारवाद के जनक थे, जो रोमन कैथोलिक मत की गलत धारणाओं, परम्पराओं, और गलत मान्यताओं को, परमेश्वर के वचन के आधार पर चुनौती देने के लिए दृढ़ होकर खड़े हो गए थे, कहा था, “अपने सुधारवाद के आरम्भ से ही मैंने परमेश्वर से माँगा है कि मुझे न तो स्वप्न भेजे, और न ही दर्शन, या स्वर्गदूत, वरन मुझे अपने वचन, पवित्र शास्त्र की सही समझ दे; क्योंकि जब तक मेरे पास परमेश्वर का वचन है, मैं जानता हूँ कि मैं उसके मार्ग पर चल रहा हूँ और मैं किसी गलती अथवा भ्रम में नहीं पडूँगा।” परमेश्वर के एक अन्य सेवक, डी. एल. मूडी ने कहा था, “बाइबल आप को पाप से दूर रखेगी, या फिर पाप आप को बाइबल से दूर रखेगा।” इसलिए इसमें कुछ अचरज की बात नहीं है कि शैतान अपना भरसक प्रयास करता है कि हमें परमेश्वर के सच्चे वचन से दूर रखे, और हमें उस खरे वचन को अपने जीवनों में तथा औरों के लाभ के लिए उपयोग न करने दे। परमेश्वर के वचन के भण्डारी होने के नाते, यह हमारा दायित्व है कि हम परमेश्वर के खरे वचन को पहचाने और थामे रहें।

    इसके बारे में हम आने वाले लेखों में कुछ और देखेंगे। यदि आपने प्रभु की शिष्यता को अभी तक स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी प्रभु यीशु के पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु, मैं अपने पापों के लिए पश्चातापी हूँ, उनके लिए आप से क्षमा माँगता हूँ। मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मुझे और मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी।

English Translation

Altering God’s Word – 16

 

    In the preceding articles, we have seen how Satan keeps striving to have God’s Word tampered, altered, and distorted. We have not only seen the various ploys Satan uses to get this done, but have also seen that there is a very unexpected, unbelievable, and generally unconsidered, but very major and significant factor that Satan uses to get this done. This factor is the people Satan uses to accomplish his designs – quite unexpectedly, Satan uses God’s committed Believers, Church leaders or elders, Bible preachers or teachers, etc. In other words, people we would least expect to be instrumental in Satan’s hands, are the ones usually, and very often quite inadvertently, used by him to implement his wicked purposes. We will now start considering why Satan wants to have this done, how it benefits him, and we will also see some other related matters about this, from today.

    We have seen earlier that it is the Word of God that gives us the ability to counter and overcome the wiles of the devil. Hence an instruction repeated in different books of the Bible is to not to add or take away from God’s Word (Deuteronomy 4:2; Proverbs 30:6; Revelation 22:18-19). The Biblical also teaches that it is not man’s wisdom, logic, and preaching with eloquence, but God’s Word that changes people (1 Thessalonians 2:13), getting them to be Born Again (1 Peter 1:23). Hence, in His Great Commission, just before His ascension, the Lord Jesus categorically instructed His disciples that when they go out to preach the gospel and make disciples, those who accept Him and come to faith in Him, to them the disciples should “teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you” (Matthew 28:20a). The Lord did not give His disciples the permission or the liberty to teach their interpretation and understanding of His teachings; but just what He had taught them. To help His disciples remember and learn His Word, the Lord also gave His Holy Spirit to them as their Helper (John 14:16, 26); if the disciples of the Lord were free to preach and teach Lord’s words according to their own understanding and interpretation, then  where was the need of the Holy Spirit to help remind them and teach them the Lord’s words? In the Christian Believer’s spiritual armor, prescribed for us (Ephesians 6:13-17), God’s Word has been called the Sword of the Spirit – our one and only weapon of offense. This is because it alone has the ability to penetrate deeply into a person “piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart” (Hebrews 4:12). This Word of God has been given “to make you wise for salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus”, and for “doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness”, so that, “the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work” (2 Timothy 3:15-17).

    It is through this Word that we learn about our savior, the Lord God Jesus Chris. In the knowledge of the Lord, that comes to us from the Word of God, God has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, has given us precious promises, the way of becoming partakers of divine nature, and the way of escaping from the corruption of this world (2 Peter 1:3-4). This Word, when it is in our hearts, it keeps us from sin (Psalm 119:11), and keeps our feet from slipping (Psalm 37:31). We see over and over again in the Bible that, it is always the pure Word of God, and not it’s humanly modified or embellished version to make it attractive and interesting, that is powerful and efficacious. In the subsequent articles we will see some more about this from Paul’s style of gospel preaching.

    Martin Luther, the Father of the Christian Reformation, the one who rose up to question and challenge the erroneous Roman Catholic dogmas and practices on the basis of God’s Word, said, “From the beginning of my reformation, I have asked God to send me neither dreams, nor visions, nor angels, but to give me the right understanding of His Word, the Holy Scriptures; For as long as I have God's Word, I know that I am walking in His way and that I shall not fall into error or delusion.” Another of God’s servant, the famous evangelist D. L. Moody had said “The Bible will keep you from sin, or sin will keep you from the Bible.” Is it any wonder then that Satan tries his utmost to keep us from the true Word of God, and from using it effectively for our lives as well as for the benefit of others. As stewards of God’s Word, it is our responsibility to discern the pure unadulterated Word of God and hold on to it.

    We will consider this further in the subsequent articles. If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord, make your decision in favor of the Lord Jesus now to ensure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. Where there is obedience to the Lord, where there is respect and obedience to His Word, there is also the blessing and protection of the Lord. Repenting of your sins, and asking the Lord Jesus for forgiveness of your sins, voluntarily and sincerely, surrendering yourself to Him - is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. You only have to say a short but sincere prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ willingly and with a penitent heart, and at the same time completely commit and submit your life to Him. You can also make this prayer and submission in words something like, “Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sins and repent of them. I thank you for taking my sins upon yourself, paying for them through your life.  Because of them you died on the cross in my place, were buried, and you rose again from the grave on the third day for my salvation, and today you are the living Lord God and have freely provided to me the forgiveness, and redemption from my sins, through faith in you. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands." Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.

परमेश्वर के वचन में फेर-बदल – 15

 

    पिछले लेख में हमने उन दो मुख्य कारणों को देखा था जिनके द्वारा शैतान परमेश्वर के वचन में फेर-बदल करने पाता है, और फिर उस बिगाड़े तथा भ्रष्ट किए हुए वचन के दुरुपयोग के द्वारा परमेश्वर के लोगों को सरलता से बहका और भरमा लेता है। इन दो में से पहला कारण है अधिकांश मसीहियों या ईसाइयों का परमेश्वर के वचन के प्रति उदासीन होना, उसे स्वयं अध्ययन नहीं करना। और परमेश्वर के वचन के प्रति अपनी इस घटी के समाधान के प्रयास में, प्रचारकों और शिक्षकों द्वारा कही गई बातों को बिना जाँचे-परखे, बिना उनकी पुष्टि करे, स्वीकार कर लेना। दूसरा कारण है कलीसिया के अगुवों, प्रमुख लोगों, प्रचारकों और शिक्षकों में, जैसे-जैसे उनकी ख्याति और स्तर बढ़ता जाता है, उनकी सेवकाई को लेकर उनमें एक छुपा हुआ घमण्ड आ जाना। चुपके से आए हुए इस अप्रत्यक्ष घमण्ड को बढ़ावा उनके उन अन्ध-भक्तों से मिलता है जो यह मान ही नहीं सकते हैं कि उनके अगुवे और प्रचारक कुछ गलत कह सकते हैं या कैसी भी कोई गलती कर सकते हैं।

    बाइबल में दो बातें दी गईं हैं, जो इस बात का निश्चित प्रमाण हैं कि परमेश्वर के धर्मी अगुवों, प्रमुख लोगों, प्रचारकों, और शिक्षकों आदि में ये गलतियाँ घुस आई हैं। पहली बात है उनके द्वारा बाइबल के शब्दों, लेखों, वाक्यांशों, आदि को उन अर्थों और अभिप्रायों के साथ स्वयं भी उपयोग करना तथा औरों को भी करना सिखाना, जैसे उन्हें बाइबल में कभी किया ही नहीं गया है। और दूसरी बात है उन अगुवों के द्वारा कलीसिया या मण्डली में न केवल व्यक्तित्व पर आधारित विभाजनों को स्वीकार करना वरन उन्हें करवाना, उन्हें बनाए रखना, और उन्हें बढ़ावा भी देना। इस प्रकार की गुट-बाज़ी सामान्यतः इसलिए होती है क्योंकि ये परमेश्वर के धर्मी अगुवे, प्रमुख लोग, प्रचारक, और शिक्षक ही, उन्हीं कारणों से जिनका उल्लेख 1 कुरिन्थियों 1:11-13; 3:3-4; 11:18-19 में किया गया है, स्वयं ही विभाजन खड़े करते हैं और फिर उन्हें बना कर भी रखते हैं। क्योंकि कलीसिया या मण्डली के लोग किसी एक अगुवे या प्रचारक को किसी अन्य से बढ़कर आदर देते हैं, उसके साथ जुड़ने लगते हैं, उसका अनुसरण करने लगते हैं, इसलिए अगुवों और प्रचारकों में अहम का टकराव और मतभेद उत्पन्न होने लगते हैं। फिर ये टकराव और मतभेद कलीसिया या मण्डली के लोगों में पहुँचा दिए जाते हैं, तथा लोगों से उनमें से किसी एक को चुनकर उसके तथा उसके गुट के लोगों के साथ रहने के लिए कहा जाता है। यह एक बहुत ही दुर्भाग्य पूर्ण तथा बाइबल के विरुद्ध बात है कि बजाए अपने मध्य के मतभेदों का समाधान करने और कलीसिया के लोगों में एकता बनाए रखने के, कलीसिया के ही अगुवे और प्रचारक न केवल विभाजन और बांटने वाली दीवारें खड़ी करते हैं, बल्कि ढिठाई से उन्हें बना कर भी रखते हैं। और यह सब उनके द्वारा प्रेम, सहनशीलता, क्षमा, और एक-मनता, आदि का, सुसमाचार का प्रचार करने और सिखाने के साथ होता है ।

    प्रेरित पौलुस ने पवित्र आत्मा की अगुवाई में इन दोनों बातों, अर्थात, वचन में जोड़ना तथा एक से बढ़कर दूसरे को देखना, का उल्लेख 1 कुरिन्थियों 4:6 किया है “हे भाइयों, मैं ने इन बातों में तुम्हारे लिये अपनी और अपुल्लोस की चर्चा, दृष्टान्त की रीति पर की है, इसलिये कि तुम हमारे द्वारा यह सीखो, कि लिखे हुए से आगे न बढ़ना, और एक के पक्ष में और दूसरे के विरोध में गर्व न करना।” जैसा पौलुस ने इससे थोड़ा सा पहले (1 कुरिन्थियों 3:3-6) में किया था, वैसे ही यहाँ पर भी वह एक बार फिर से अपने आप को तथा अपुल्लोस को उदाहरण बनाने के द्वारा बता रहा है। इन पद में वह समस्या को, उसके कारण को, और उसके समाधान को बताता है। वह बहुत स्पष्ट और दृढ़ता से कहता है कि वे दोनों, पौलुस और अपुल्लोस, इस बात में सचेत और दृढ़ रहे कि वचन में जो लिखा है, उससे आगे न बढ़ें; अर्थात, उन्होंने कभी भी, किसी भी रीति परमेश्वर के वचन के लेख, उसके अर्थ, अथवा उसके अभिप्राय में कुछ भी नहीं जोड़ा। क्योंकि वे परमेश्वर के वचन की इस शुद्धता और पवित्रता को बनाए रखने के प्रति दृढ़-निश्चय थे, इसीलिए, वे इस बात को कलीसिया को भी सिखा सके। और इसीलिए, वे यह भी दिखा सके कि लिखित वचन की सीमाओं में बने रहने के द्वारा, मण्डली मनुष्यों में घमण्ड करने, एक मनुष्य को दूसरे से बढ़कर समझने की गलती से बची रहेगी, जिस के कारण कलीसिया में विभाजन और गुट-बाज़ी होती है।

    ये दो बातें, अर्थात, वचन में जोड़ना तथा एक से बढ़कर दूसरे को देखना, ही वे दो संकेत हैं जो यह पहचान करवाते हैं कि कोई अगुवा या प्रचारक शैतान की युक्तियों में फँस गया है। इस गलती से बचने का परमेश्वर द्वारा दिया गया समाधान है 1 कुरिन्थियों 11:1 – किसी भी मनुष्य का नहीं, बल्कि केवल मसीह यीशु का ही अनुसरण करो, ठीक उसी तरह से जैसे पौलुस करता था। इसलिए मसीही विश्वासियों, अर्थात परमेश्वर के वचन के भण्‍डारियों को, किसी भी अगुवे, प्रमुख जन, प्रचारक, या शिक्षक के स्तर और प्रतिष्ठा से प्रभावित होकर कार्य करने की बजाए, जो भी प्रचार किया और सिखाया जाता है, पहले वचन से उसकी जाँच-परख करनी चाहिए, और उसके बाद ही स्वीकार करना तथा पालन करना चाहिए। किसी भी मनुष्य का, उसके शब्दों, उसकी शैली, उसके हाव-भाव का आँख मूंद कर अनुसरण करना देर-सवेर गलतियों तथा समस्याओं में पड़ने और आशीषों की हानि उठाने का कारण ठहरेगा।

    अगले लेख में हम देखेंगे कि शैतान इतने उद्यम से परमेश्वर के वचन में फेर-बदल करवाने, उसे भ्रष्ट करने और परमेश्वर के लोगों को पथ-भ्रष्ट करने के प्रयास में क्यों लगा रहता है।

Altering God’s Word – 15

 

    In the previous article we have seen the two main reasons of Satan being able to alter God’s Word, then have the distorted, corrupted Word spread and used so easily to misguide God’s people. The first of these two reasons is the very common apathy amongst the vast majority of Christians to not study God’s Word for themselves. Rather, to try and make up for their deficiency of learning God’s Word, they accept what preachers and teachers present to them, without cross-checking and verifying it. The second reason is the tendency of subtle arrogance that creeps into the leaders and Elders, the preachers and teachers about their ministry as they grow in eminence. This subtle arrogance is encouraged because of their blind-followers, who just cannot accept that those leaders and preachers can say anything wrong or make any mistakes.

    In the Bible there are given two definite indicators that these errors have crept into God’s committed Believers, Church leaders or elders, Bible preachers or teachers, etc. The first one is their using as well as teaching others also to use Biblical words, phrases, texts etc. in ways, with meanings and implications that have that have never been stated, or used, or implied in the Bible about them. And, the second is those leader’s tolerating, creating, maintaining and encouraging personality-based factionalism in the Churches and Assemblies. The groupism is usually because these committed Believers, Church leaders or elders, Bible preachers or teachers, etc., either allow, or are even instrumental in creating and maintaining factions and divisions within the Church or Assemblies because of the same reasons as are given in 1 Corinthians 1:11-13; 3:3-4; 11:18-19. Because the people of the congregation start associating with, honoring, or following one elder or preacher over another, it leads to personality clashes, and contentions amongst the elders and preachers. These differences and contentions are then passed on to the congregation, and the people of the congregation are asked to side either with one or the other of these leaders and others in their group. It is so unfortunate and unBiblical that instead of ironing out their differences, and encouraging unity in the Church congregation, the elders and preachers not only create divisions and walls of separation in the Churches or Assemblies, but even stubbornly maintain them. And, all of this happens along with their preaching and teaching about love, forbearance, forgiveness, and being one-minded etc., and the gospel.

    The apostle Paul, through the Holy Spirit, pointed out these two factors, i.e., adding to God’s Word and placing one leader over another, and decreed against them in 1 Corinthians 4:6 [NIV] “Now, brothers, I have applied these things to myself and Apollos for your benefit, so that you may learn from us the meaning of the saying, "Do not go beyond what is written." Then you will not take pride in one man over against another.” Here Paul, as he had done a little earlier (1 Corinthians 3:3-6), once again sets forth himself and Apollos as examples, and states the problem, its cause, and its solution. He categorically says that they both, Paul and Apollos made it a point not to go beyond what had already been written in the Scriptures; i.e., they never, in any manner, neither added to the text nor to its meaning, nor implied anything beyond what already had been written and given in God’s Word. Because they were particular about maintaining this sanctity of God’s Word, therefore they could teach the same to the Church. And therefore, they could also point out that by their staying within the limits of the written Word, the congregation will be able to avoid the trap of taking pride in men, putting one man over an another, which leads to factions and divisions in the Church.

    These two things, i.e., adding to God’s Word and placing one leader over another, are the two points which help in discerning that the elder or preacher has fallen prey to Satan’s ploy. The God given solution to falling for this error is 1 Corinthians 11:1 – emulate Christ Jesus, and not any man, in just the same way as Paul used to do. Therefore, Christian Believers, the stewards of God’s Word, instead of getting carried away by the eminence and stature of a leader or elder, or preacher, should make it a point to always cross-check and confirm the messages i.e, whatever is preached and taught to them, from God’s Word and only then accept and obey it. Blindly following any man, his words, style, and his mannerisms, will sooner or later result in getting involved in errors, falling into problems, and suffering a loss of blessings.

    In the next article we will see why Satan so desperately tries to alter and corrupt God’s Word, why he has been striving so hard through all these and other ploys to corrupt God’s Word and misguide people.

    If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord, make your decision in favor of the Lord Jesus now to ensure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. Where there is obedience to the Lord, where there is respect and obedience to His Word, there is also the blessing and protection of the Lord. Repenting of your sins, and asking the Lord Jesus for forgiveness of your sins, voluntarily and sincerely, surrendering yourself to Him - is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. You only have to say a short but sincere prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ willingly and with a penitent heart, and at the same time completely commit and submit your life to Him. You can also make this prayer and submission in words something like, “Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sins and repent of them. I thank you for taking my sins upon yourself, paying for them through your life.  Because of them you died on the cross in my place, were buried, and you rose again from the grave on the third day for my salvation, and today you are the living Lord God and have freely provided to me the forgiveness, and redemption from my sins, through faith in you. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands." Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.

    पिछले लेख में हमने देखा था कि दो मुख्य कारण हैं जिनके द्वारा शैतान आज इतनी सरलता से लोगों को बहका और भरमा लेता है, और वह भी कलीसिया या मण्डली के धर्मी अगुवों, प्रमुख लोगों, प्रचारकों, और शिक्षकों में होकर। पहला कारण, जिसे हमने पिछले लेख में देखा था, परमेश्वर और उसके वचन के प्रति सामान्यतः मसीहियों या ईसाइयों में पाई जाने वाली नीरसता, अपने जीवनों में परमेश्वर को उसका प्राथमिक स्थान देने के प्रति अरुचि है। दूसरे कारण को हम आज देखेंगे।

    इस दुखद हाल का दूसरा मुख्य कारण है कि प्रत्येक ऐसे धर्मी जन या कलीसिया के अगुवे, या प्रचारक और शिक्षक के संग, जो थोड़ी भी ख्याति प्राप्त कर लेता है, जिसकी आदर के साथ पहचान होने लगती है, हमेशा ही उसके साथ उसके अन्ध-भक्तों का एक समूह जुड़ जाता है। ये अन्ध-भक्त हमेशा ही यही मानते, कहते, और प्रसार करते हैं कि जिसका वे अनुसरण कर रहे हैं, वह कभी कोई गलती कर ही नहीं सकता है, कभी कुछ भी गलत प्रचार या शिक्षा नहीं दे सकता है। और इसलिए, वे यही मानते हैं, तथा औरों को भी यही अभिप्राय देते हैं कि किसी को भी उस व्यक्ति की बातों को जाँचने-परखने, और पुष्टि करने की कोई आवश्यकता नहीं है। यहाँ तक कि ये अन्ध-भक्त अपनी व्यक्तिगत प्रार्थनाओं और आराधना में भी उसी व्यक्ति के द्वारा प्रयोग किए जाने वाले शब्दों, उसकी शब्दावली और वाक्यांशों, तथा बाइबल के तथ्यों को, उसकी शैली और हाव-भाव को वैसे ही बोलने, दोहराने, और करने लगते हैं जैसा वह व्यक्ति जिससे से वे इतने प्रभावित हैं, करता है। उस व्यक्ति के ये अन्ध-भक्त न तो कभी यह बाइबल में से जाँचने-परखने का प्रयास करते हैं कि क्या बाइबल में भी वे शब्द, शब्दावली, वाक्याँश, और तथ्य उसी प्रकार से, उसी अर्थ और अभिप्राय से उपयोग किए गए हैं की नहीं। और न ही वे इसकी पुष्टि करते हैं कि क्या यह उन्हें उपयोग करने का वह सही तरीका है भी या नहीं। यदि कोई उस व्यक्ति से संबंधित किसी बात के लिए कोई प्रश्न उठाता है, जिसके वे इतने कट्टर अनुयायी हैं, तो न ही वे इसे सकारात्मक रीति से लेते हैं । इन अन्ध-भक्तों के लिए, इस प्रकार की कोई भी बात करना, उस व्यक्ति का अपमान, यहाँ तक कि उसके विरुद्ध अपराध करना माना जाता है। और यह सारा व्यवहार शैतान और उसकी कुटिल योजनाओं को बहुत रास आता है, वह गलत जानकारी फैलाने और लोगों को बहकाने और भरमाने के लिए इसका भरपूरी से उपयोग करता है।

    हमने पिछले लेख में देखा था कि किस प्रकार से शैतान बड़ी चतुराई और चालाकी से बाइबल के सही लेखों का बाइबल के विपरीत गलत उपयोग करता है; और वह यह कार्य परमेश्वर के धर्मी अगुवों, प्रमुख लोगों, प्रचारकों, और शिक्षकों में होकर करता है, उन्हें जाने-अनजाने में अपनी युक्तियों में फँसा लेने के द्वारा। इस गलती की हालत में होने पर भी, ये धर्मी जन तथा उनके अन्ध-भक्त यही सोचते और मानते रहते हैं कि वे परमेश्वर के सही वचन का ही प्रचार और प्रसार कर रहे हैं। परन्तु वास्तविकता में, जिसका वे प्रचार और प्रसार कर रहे होते हैं वह परमेश्वर के वचन का बिगड़ा और भ्रष्ट किया हुआ स्वरूप होता है, जिसे शैतानी प्रभावों के द्वारा व्यर्थ और निष्फल मनुष्य के वचन में परिवर्तित कर दिया गया है। इसीलिए, चाहे उनके वे सन्देश सुनाने में बहुत अच्छे लगें, उन संदेशों की बहुत सराहना और प्रशंसा की जाए, फिर भी वे सन्देश वास्तव में लोगों को कायल करने और उन्हें परमेश्वर और उसकी कलीसिया के निकट लाने में, या मण्डली के लोगों को मण्डली में बनाए रखने में दुर्बल या अप्रभावी रहते हैं।

    अगले लेख में हम बाइबल के उस स्पष्ट संकेत को देखेंगे जो यह पहचानने में हमारी सहायता करता है कि क्या शैतान की युक्ति में फँस गया है, और स्वयं भी गलत मार्ग पर चल रहा है तथा औरों को भी गलत मार्ग पर डाल रहा है। यह सभी बातें एक तरह से 1 कुरिन्थियों 3:17 की चेतावनी का पूरा होना है; जो परमेश्वर की कलीसिया के विरुद्ध कार्य करेगा, उस पर भी वही दुष्प्रभाव आ जाएगा।

Altering God’s Word – 14

 

    In the previous article we had seen that there are two main reasons why Satan is able to so easily misguide people today, and that too through the godly leaders, Elders, preachers and teachers. The first reason, which we saw in the last article, was the general apathy amongst Christians to give God and His Word a primary place in their lives. Today we will consider the second reason.

    The second reason for this tragic state of affairs is that with any godly person, any preacher or teacher, any Church leader or Elder, who gains any reputation and prominence there is always an associated group of his blind-followers. These blind-followers always believe, propagate, and assert that the person they are following can never, and will never say, preach, or teach anything wrong. And therefore, these blind-followers always trust and imply the same to others as well, that there is no need for anyone to ever cross-check and verify that person’s preaching and teaching. So much so that these blind-followers, in their own personal prayers and worship, copy and use the words, vocabulary, and phrases, the style, and the mannerisms etc. of the person they are so obsessed with. These blind-followers of the person neither ever care to verify from the Bible if that is the correct way, the Biblical way of using those words, vocabulary, phrases, and facts of the Bible; nor take it kindly if anyone does raise questions about anything related with the person, they are an ardent follower of. For these blind-followers, anything to this effect is an insult of that person, or even an offense against him. And, this whole scenario suits Satan and his devious schemes very well for spreading disinformation and misguiding people.

    We have seen in the previous articles how Satan very cleverly uses Biblical texts and facts in an unBiblical way; and he gets this done through God’s committed Believers, Church leaders or elders, Bible preachers or teachers, etc., by inadvertently making them fall for his ploys. In this state of error, these godly people, as well as their blind-followers keep thinking that they are preaching and teaching the Word of God. But in reality, what they are preaching and teaching is a distorted and corrupted version of God’s Word, that has been converted into the vain and fruitless word of a man by satanic influences. Therefore, though their messages, preaching, and teaching may be well appreciated and applauded, but it remains weak or ineffective in convicting people, bringing them to God and His Church, or even continuing to hold the existing members there. The Church attendance instead of growing, starts dwindling away.

    In the next article we will see the clearly spelled out Biblical indicators that can help us discern if a person has fallen for Satan’s ploys in being misguided and also misguiding others. These things, in a manner of speaking, are the fulfilment of the warning of 1 Corinthians 3:17; those who act against God’s Church, will see the same fate coming upon them.

    पिछले लेख में हमने देखा था कि किस प्रकार से शैतान ने उस समय के धार्मिक अगुवों से पुराने नियम के लेखों में छेड़-छाड़ करवाई, और उसे बदल कर उनकी सहूलियत और लाभ के लिए बना दिया। प्रभु यीशु ने अपनी पृथ्वी की सेवकाई के समय इस बात को उस समय जन-सामान्य के भी तथा उन धार्मिक अगुवों के सम्मुख भी प्रकट किया था। इसके बाद हमने देखा था कि जैसे-जैसे सुसमाचार और मसीहियत का प्रचार और प्रसार होता गया, उसी के साथ ही शैतान द्वारा मसीही शिक्षाओं को बिगाड़ने और भ्रष्ट करने का, गलत शिक्षाओं का, लोगों को बहका और भरमा कर विधर्मी मार्गों में डालने का भी; लोगों में इस गलतफहमी के साथ कि वे सही और भक्ति के मार्ग पर ही हैं, प्रचार और प्रसार होता चला गया। हमने बाइबल के उदाहरणों के द्वारा सामान्यतः न तो देखे-समझे और न ही पहचाने जाने वाले इस तथ्य को भी देखा था कि परमेश्वर की कलीसिया और मण्डलियों में इन गलत शिक्षाओं और सिद्धांतों के पैठ बैठा लेने और फिर दूसरों में फैलाए जाने में, चाहे अनजाने में या जान-बूझकर, हमेशा से ही धार्मिक अगुवों की एक प्रमुख भूमिका रही है।

    यह कलीसिया के सम्पूर्ण इतिहास में होता चला आया है और आज भी हो रहा है, बाइबल के लेखों में फेर-बदल और बिगाड़ करने के द्वारा उसे बाइबल के विपरीत अर्थ और अभिप्राय दिए जा रहे हैं। और फिर इन फेर-बदल किए हुए, बिगड़े हुए, भ्रष्ट किए गए लेखों, उनके अनुचित अर्थों और अभिप्रायों के आधार पर कई डिनॉमिनेशंस, मत, और संप्रदाय खड़े हो गए हैं जो परमेश्वर के वचन से बहुत भिन्न बातों का प्रचार करते और शिक्षाएं देते हैं, किन्तु दावा बाइबल के अनुसार बिलकुल सही होने का दावा करते हैं। क्योंकि वे लोग यह एक आकर्षक, सांसारिक रीति से लुभावनी, और प्रतीत होने में तर्कपूर्ण तरीकों से करते हैं, बहुधा उनके साथ भौतिक लाभों के वायदों के साथ, इसीलिए बहुत से लोग उनकी ओर मुड़ जाते हैं, उन्हें स्वीकार कर लेते हैं। इस बात के इतने सामान्य और खुली रीति से होने के दो मुख्य कारण हैं, और आज हम पहले कारण को देखेंगे, और फिर अगले लेख में हम दूसरे कारण पर विचार करेंगे।

    पहला कारण, जैसा कि पहले भी कहा जा चुका है, यह बहुत दुखद तथ्य है कि अधिकांश ईसाई या मसीही कभी परमेश्वर को अपने जीवनों में उचित समय देते ही नहीं हैं; उनके लिए परमेश्वर नहीं बल्कि सँसार और सँसार की बातें, ज़िम्मेदारियाँ ही प्राथमिकता होती हैं; उनके लिए परमेश्वर कोई विशेष महत्व का नहीं बल्कि औपचारिकता निभाने, कर्तव्य पूरा करने के लिए है। और उनके मन-मस्तिष्क में इस बात को गहराई से जमा देने के बाद, शैतान उन्हें सँसार की बातों और जिम्मेदारियों में ही उलझाए रखता है, उन्हें कभी उनकी इस गंभीर गलती और इसके भयानक दुष्परिणामों का एहसास ही नहीं होने देता है, उन्हें उलझा कर परमेश्वर तथा उसके वचन से दूर बनाए रखता है। इस बात का सबसे सामान्य और प्रकट प्रमाण है ऐसे लोगों के द्वारा स्वयं बाइबल अध्ययन करने के लिए समय को न लगाना; कुछ लोग औपचारिकता के लिए बाइबल पढ़ अवश्य लेते हैं, किन्तु अधिकांश ईसाई या मसीही सामान्यतः बाइबल की बातों और शिक्षाओं से अनभिज्ञ ही रहते हैं। और इसलिए, इस कमी को पूरा करने के लिए, परमेश्वर के वचन को सीखने के लिए वे औरों के द्वारा दिए गए संदेशों और शिक्षाओं को मान लेने, उन्हें स्वीकार कर लेने वाले बन जाते हैं। लेकिन क्योंकि उन्हें बाइबल में वास्तव में लिखी गई बातें और दी गई शिक्षाएँ पता नहीं होती हैं, इसीलिए जो भी प्रचार किया या सिखाया जाता है, उसे बिना जाँचे-परखे ही स्वीकार कर लेते हैं। प्रचार करने तथा शिक्षा देने वाला जितना अधिक परिचित, लोकप्रिय, या ख्याति प्राप्त व्यक्ति होता है, उतने ही अधिक अंध-विश्वास के साथ उसकी बातें स्वीकार की जाती हैं, उस पर तथा उसकी बातों पर भरोसा रखा जाता है, उनका बिना किसी संदेह के पालन किया जाता है।

    एक और बात जो प्रचारक और शिक्षक की लोकप्रियता और उसकी कही बात को स्वीकार करने पालन करने में बहुत बड़ा योगदान करती है, वह है उसकी वाक्पटुता, उसकी प्रभावी शब्दावली, तथा शैली, और जिस तरह से वह बाइबल की बातों, शब्दों, और वाक्यांशों का बड़ी भक्ति, धार्मिकता और प्रभावी रीति से प्रस्तुत तथा उपयोग करता है। लेकिन शायद ही कोई होता होगा जो बेरिया के विश्वासियों के समान (प्रेरितों 17:11) वापस जाकर परमेश्वर के वचन से इस बात की पुष्टि करता है कि क्या बाइबल की वे बातें, वे शब्द, वे वाक्यांश, बाइबल में भी, बाइबल में परमेश्वर के लोगों की प्रार्थनाओं, वार्तालापों, और संदेशों आदि में, वास्तव में उसी रीति से उपयोग हुए हैं जैसे की यह प्रचारक आज उन्हें उपयोग कर रहा है, और अब करना सिखा रहा है। ध्यान कीजिए, लोगों को भरमाने और बहकाने के लिए शैतान की एक बहुत सफल युक्ति है बाइबल के सही लेख का अनुचित रीति से, ऐसे उपयोग करना, जैसा उपयोग उस लेख के लिए बाइबल में दिया नहीं गया है। और आजकल वह इस युक्ति को और भी अधिक सामान्य रीति से कार्यान्वित कर रहा है बाइबल की बातों, जैसे कि बपतिस्मा, प्रभु भोज, पश्चाताप, उद्धार आदि; बाइबल के शब्दों और वाक्यांशों, जैसे कि परमेश्वर के सम्मुख या उसकी उपस्थिति में आने, ‘यीशु का लहू’ और ‘यीशु के क्रूस’ आदि वाक्यांशों का विभिन्न बातों के लिए और कार्य करवाने के लिए उस तरह से उपयोग करने के लिए, जैसा उनके लिए बाइबल में नहीं दिया गया है।

Altering God’s Word – 13

 

    In the previous article we had seen how Satan had got the then religious leaders to tamper with and alter the Old Testament Scriptural text, and converted it into something to their convenience and profit. The Lord Jesus during His earthly ministry had pointed this out to the general public as well as to those religious leaders. We next saw that, as the gospel and Christianity spread, so did the wrong teachings and doctrines brought in by Satan to corrupt and distort the Christian teachings, to deceive and misguide people into wrong, ungodly ways, while making them think that they were on the right and godly path. We also saw that Biblical examples clearly illustrate the generally unrealized and unacknowledged fact, that the religious leaders, knowingly or unknowingly, have always had a major role to play in letting these satanic teachings and doctrines enter and take hold in God’s Churches and from there spread to others.

    This has been happening throughout the Church history, and is happening even today, the Biblical text is being altered and distorted to give it inappropriate unBiblical meanings. Then, based on these altered, corrupted texts and the meanings and implications ascribed to them, many denominations, sects, and cults have risen up that preach and teach things much different from God’s Word, but claim to be absolutely correct Biblically. Because they do it in an attractive, physically appealing, and a seemingly logical manner, often along with promises of many temporal gains and benefits, therefore, many accept their false teachings and turn to following them. There are two main reasons why this happens so freely and easily, and today we will see about the first reason, and in the next article we will consider the second reason.

    The first reason, as has been pointed out earlier, is the very sad fact that most Christians never give God any quality time in their lives; the world and the responsibilities and things of the world and not God is not a priority for them; God is not someone important, but an obligation, a formality to be fulfilled. And having got this firmly entrenched in their minds and hearts, Satan keeps them occupied in the things and responsibilities of the world, never letting them realize their very grave error and its disastrous consequences, and keeping them entangled away from God and His Word. This is most commonly evidenced by their not taking time to study the Bible for themselves; some may perfunctorily read it, but by far the vast majority of Christians generally remain unawares of what actually is written in God’s Word. Therefore, to make up for this lack, they always blindly rely on the messages and teachings given to them by others as a means of learning God’s Word. But since they are unaware of what is actually written and taught in the Bible; therefore, they tend to accept whatever has been preached and taught without cross-checking or verifying it. The more familiar, popular, or renowned the preacher or teacher is, the more confidently and blindly he is trusted, and whatever he says and preaches is accepted, believed, and followed.

    A factor that strongly contributes to the popularity and general acceptance of whatever the preacher or teacher says is his impressive vocabulary, eloquence, and style, and the manner in which he presents and uses Biblical words, terms, and phrases in a very pious, religious, and impressive sounding way. But hardly anyone bothers to go back like the Berean Believers (Acts 17:11) used to do, to confirm from God’s Word, whether those Biblical terms, words, and phrases have actually been used in the Bible, by God’s people in their prayers, conversations and messages, etc., in the same way as this preacher or teacher is using them today, is ascribing meanings and implications to them, and teaching to be done now. Remember, one of Satan’s very effective strategies to misguide people is to use the correct Biblical text, in an inappropriate way, in ways not seen in the Bible. And nowadays he is implementing this strategy through the more commonly and often inappropriately used Biblical things like Baptism, Holy Communion, Repentance, Salvation etc.; Biblical terms and phrases e.g., about entering into God’s presence, binding Satan, applying and using phrases like ‘blood of Jesus’ and ‘Cross of Jesus’ etc., for accomplishing various things, and in ways not stated about them in the Bible

    We will consider the second factor, and a Biblical indicator that will help us discern whether someone has fallen prey to satanic ploys in the next article.

    If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord, make your decision in favor of the Lord Jesus now to ensure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. Where there is obedience to the Lord, where there is respect and obedience to His Word, there is also the blessing and protection of the Lord. Repenting of your sins, and asking the Lord Jesus for forgiveness of your sins, voluntarily and sincerely, surrendering yourself to Him - is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. You only have to say a short but sincere prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ willingly and with a penitent heart, and at the same time completely commit and submit your life to Him. You can also make this prayer and submission in words something like, “Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sins and repent of them. I thank you for taking my sins upon yourself, paying for them through your life.  Because of them you died on the cross in my place, were buried, and you rose again from the grave on the third day for my salvation, and today you are the living Lord God and have freely provided to me the forgiveness, and redemption from my sins, through faith in you. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands." Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.

    एक मसीही विश्वासी के परमेश्वर के वचन का भण्डारी होने के बारे में देखते हुए, हमने पिछले लेखों में कुछ उन तरीकों को देखा है, जिनके द्वारा शैतान बड़ी चालाकी और चुपके से परमेश्वर के वचन में फेर-बदल करवा देता है। हम पहले यह देख चुके हैं कि शैतान यह मुख्यतः दो तरीकों से करता है: पहला तरीका, जिसे हम उसके विभिन्न स्वरूपों में देखते आ रहे हैं, है बाइबल के वास्तविक लेख को बनाए रखना किन्तु उसे बाइबल के विपरीत अर्थ और अभिप्राय प्रदान करवा देना। जैसा हमने पिछले लेखों में देखा है, इस फेर-बदल को करवाने और लागू करवाने का शैतान का सबसे कारगर और सफल तरीका है यह काम जाने या अनजाने में परमेश्वर का प्रतिबद्ध जन, कलीसिया के प्रमुख व्यक्तियों या अगुवों, बाइबल के प्रचारकों तथा शिक्षकों आदि के द्वारा करवाना। ये धार्मिक लोग यही सोचते और समझते रहते हैं कि वे परमेश्वर की सेवा कर रहे हैं और उसके वचन का प्रचार कर रहे हैं; लेकिन उन्हें एहसास ही नहीं होने पाता है कि बड़ी चालाकी से शैतान ने उन्हें फँसा लिया है और वे उसके लिए कार्य कर रहे हैं और जो वो प्रचार कर रहे हैं, सिखा रहे हैं, वह परमेश्वर के वचन का बिगड़ा हुआ, भ्रष्ट किया हुआ स्वरूप है। परमेश्वर के वचन के साथ छेड़-छाड़ करने का शैतान का दूसरा तरीका, जिसे हम आज देखेंगे, पवित्र शास्त्र के लेख को ही बदल देना है । परमेश्वर द्वारा दिए गए वचन में कुछ जोड़ने अथवा उसमें से कुछ निकाल लेने के द्वारा वे वचन के अर्थ और अभिप्राय ही बदल देते हैं। और शैतान यह कार्य भी धार्मिक अगुवों के द्वारा ही करवाता है।

    यह बात प्रभु यीशु की पृथ्वी की सेवकाई के समय प्रकट थी। उस समय के धार्मिक अगुवों ने परमेश्वर के वचन में बहुत से फेर-बदल कर दिए थे, उसे अपने स्वार्थ के लिए सहज तथा अपने लाभ के लिए उपयोग करने के लिए। जब हम मत्ती 5 से 7 अध्याय में प्रभु द्वारा दिए गए ‘पहाड़ी उपदेश’ को पढ़ते हैं, तो हम प्रभु यीशु को बहुधा ‘तुम सुन चुके हो’, ‘तुम से कहा गया था’, आदि वाक्यांशों का पवित्र शास्त्र की शिक्षाओं के विषय उपयोग करते हुए देखते हैं; और फिर वह इसके बाद कहता है, ‘परन्तु मैं तुम से कहता हूँ’ और फिर जन-सामान्य को उस समय के धार्मिक अगुवों द्वारा जो गलत कहा और सिखाया गया था उसके सही स्वरूप को बताता है। इसी प्रकार से, मत्ती 15:1-15 में, फरीसियों और शास्त्रियों से प्रभु कहता है, “और ये व्यर्थ मेरी उपासना करते हैं, क्योंकि मनुष्यों की विधियों को धर्मोपदेश कर के सिखाते हैं” (मत्ती 15:9)। ये दोनों उदाहरण भली-भांति चित्रित करते हैं कि कैसे उस समय भी, धार्मिक अगुवों ने परमेश्वर के वचन में फेर-बदल करके उसे बिगाड़ दिया था, भ्रष्ट कर दिया था।

    प्रभु यीशु मसीह के स्वर्गारोहण के पश्चात, प्रभु में विश्वास द्वारा मिलने वाले उद्धार के सुसमाचार का प्रचार होने लगा, और जैसे-जैसे कलीसियाएँ बढ़ने और फैलने लगीं, सभी स्थानों पर मसीही विश्वासी बढ़ने लगे, तो साथ ही शैतान ने भी मसीही विश्वास की बिगाड़ी हुई शिक्षाओं को उनमें फैलाना आरम्भ कर दिया। उस समय लोगों के लिए एक बहुत गंभीर समस्या थी उनके पास लिखित नया नियम विद्यमान नहीं होना, जैसा कि आज हमारे पास है, और इससे शैतान का कार्य और भी सरल हो गया क्योंकि सभी शिक्षाएँ या तो मौखिक दी जाती थीं, अथवा विभिन्न स्थानों पर स्थित लोगों या कलीसियाओं को लिखी गई पत्रियों के द्वारा दी जाती थीं। नीचे दिए गए थोड़े से उदाहरणों को देखते समय, कृपया इस एक बात पर भी ध्यान कीजिए, कि वे कौन लोग थे जिनके द्वारा शैतान ने इन फेर-बदल की, तथा वचन को भ्रष्ट करने वाली बातों को मण्डलियों में घुसाया था। आप देखेंगे कि लगभग हर बार धार्मिक अगुवों या कलीसियाओं से संबंधित प्रमुख लोगों के द्वारा ही शैतान ने यह कार्य करवाया है। अनेकों में से कुछ उदाहरण हैं:

·        प्रेरितों 20:28-30 में, पौलुस बंदी हो कर रोम जाते समय, मार्ग में इफिसुस की मण्डली के अगुवों से मिलता है, और उन्हें उन लोगों के बारे में सचेत करता है जो आकर टेढ़ी-मेढ़ी बातें प्रचार करेंगे और लोगों को खींच कर ले जाएँगे; और वह विशेष रूप से यह भी कहता है कि ऐसे कुछ लोग उन्हीं में से – कलीसिया के उन अगुवों में से, जिन्हें वह संबोधित कर रहा था, भी उठ खड़े होंगे।

·        गलातियों 1:6-9 में पौलुस गलातिया की मण्डली के विश्वासियों को, उनके गलत सुसमाचार के पीछे चल निकलने के लिए, डांट रहा है; और वह भी सही सुसमाचार ग्रहण करने के शीघ्र ही बाद। लेकिन साथ ही इस बात पर भी ध्यान दीजिए कि पौलुस किन के लिए कहता है कि वे गलत सुसमाचार प्रचार कर सकते हैं – वह स्वयं अपने, अपने साथियों, या किसी स्वर्गदूत के द्वारा यह होने की बात करता है! अर्थात वे लोग जिन्हें सुसमाचार प्रचार सौंपा गया है, उसकी समझ दी गई है, वे ही गलत प्रचार करने के लिए बहकाए और भरमाए जा सकते हैं। यह एक बार फिर इस बात की पुष्टि करता है कि शैतान बड़ी चालाकी से धर्मी लोगों को, वचन का वरदान पाए हुए प्रचारकों और शिक्षकों को, परमेश्वर और उसके वचन के विपरीत बातें सिखाने और प्रचार करने के लिए उपयोग करता है।

·        इसी प्रकार से 2 तीमुथियुस 2:17-18, तथा 2 थिस्सलुनीकियों 2:1-2 में, पौलुस उस गलत सन्देश का सुधार करता है जो कुछ प्रचारकों द्वारा प्रचार किया जा रहा था और कलीसियाओं को परेशान कर रहा था, कि प्रभु का दूसरा आगमन हो चुका है, और वे लोग पीछे छूट गए हैं; इस प्रकार से उन्हें भरमाया जा रहा था कि उनका विश्वास करना व्यर्थ है। कलीसियाओं के मान्यता प्राप्त प्रचारक ही गलत प्रचार कर रहे थे।

·        प्रेरित यूहन्ना, 1 यूहन्ना 4:1 में उन झूठे भविष्यद्वक्ताओं के लिए सचेत करता है जो सँसार में फ़ैल चुके थे, प्रभु यीशु और उद्धार की गलत शिक्षाओं के साथ।

·        प्रकाशितवाक्य अध्याय 2 और 3 की सात कलीसियाओं के बारे में विचार कीजिए, और प्रभु के पास उनमें से पांच कलीसियाओं के अगुवों के लिए कितनी गंभीर ताड़ना की बातें थीं, उनके गलत शिक्षाओं और सिद्धांतों के कारण।

    यदि आप इस तथ्य पर थोड़ा गंभीरता से विचार करें, नए नियम में, सभी पत्रियाँ या तो व्यक्तियों को अथवा कलीसियाओं को लिखी गई थीं, मुख्यतः, उनमें घुस आई बहुत सी गलतफहमियों, गलत धारणाओं, और गलत शिक्षाओं को सही करने के लिए। दूसरे शब्दों में, जैसे ही मसीही शिक्षाएँ फैलने लगीं, उसी के साथ ही शैतान द्वारा उनके बिगाड़े और भ्रष्ट किए हुए स्वरूप भी फैलने लगे, यदि सही शिक्षाओं से अधिक तेज़ी से नहीं तो कम से कम उनकी गति से तो अवश्य ही। इसीलिए लगभग आधा नया नियम, अर्थात प्रेरितों के काम और प्रकाशितवाक्य पुस्तकों के मध्य की सारी पत्रियाँ, सभी इसी एक उद्देश्य के अन्तर्गत लिखी गईं – शैतान द्वारा वचन और उसके अर्थ में लाए गए बिगाड़ को सही करने के लिए। यदि आप इस बात का अध्ययन करें कि ये शैतानी शिक्षाएँ और सिद्धान्त कलीसियाओं और मण्डलियों कैसे घुसे, कैसे जम कर बैठ गए, और फिर औरों तक भी फैला दिए गए, तो आप को यह जानकार अचरज होगा कि इन भ्रष्ट शैतानी बातों को कलीसियाओं में घुसने देने और पेट बना लेने में विभिन्न धार्मिक अगुवों और प्रमुख लोगों का बहुत महत्वपूर्ण योगदान रहा है, और इसमें बहुत बड़ी सहायता और समर्थन उन अगुवों के अंध-भक्तों का, तथा मण्डली के लोगों द्वारा बिना कोई प्रश्न उठाए हर बात को चुपचाप स्वीकार कर लेने की प्रवृत्ति का भी रहा है।

    अगले लेख में हम देखेंगे कि वर्तमान में, कलीसियाओं और मण्डलियों में यह वचन के साथ छेड़-छाड़ और बिगाड़ कैसे हो रहा है, तथा कैसे पहचाना जाए कि कोई धार्मिक अगुवा, अनजाने में ही परमेश्वर के वचन में बिगाड़ लाने के लिए, शैतान द्वारा संभवतः फँसा लिया गया है, बिना इस के बारे में कोई जानकारी के, या इसका एहसास किए।

Altering God’s Word – 12

 

    While considering the stewardship of a Christian Believer towards God’s Word the Bible, in the previous articles we have seen some of the various subtle and inapparent ways by which Satan alters God’s Word. Earlier, it had been stated that Satan does this alteration in mainly two ways: one is what we have been seeing in its various forms, retaining the actual Biblical text but giving it meanings and implications contrary to Biblical teachings. As we have seen in the preceding articles, Satan’s most convincing way of doing and successfully implementing the alteration is by getting it done advertently or inadvertently through God’s committed Believers, Church leaders or elders, Bible preachers or teachers, etc. These religious people keep thinking and believing that they are serving God and propagating His Word, without realizing that very cunningly Satan has trapped them into working for him, and they are actually preaching and teachings his distorted and corrupted versions of God’s Word. Satan’s second method of tampering with God’s Word, which we will see today, is to alter the very text of the Scriptures by adding to or taking away from the original text given by God, and thereby change the meanings and implications of God’s Word. And Satan gets this also done through these same religious people.

    This was evident even at the time of the Lord Jesus’s earthly ministry. The religious leaders of that time had made many alterations in God’s Word, to make it suit their convenience and even greed. As we read through the ‘Sermon on the Mount’ given by the Lord in Matthew chapters 5-7, very frequently we come across the Lord Jesus saying ‘you have heard’, ‘it has been said to you’, etc., about some Scriptural teachings, and He then follows it up by saying ‘but I say to you’ and then states the corrected form of what was wrongly being preached and taught to the general people by the religious leaders of His time. Similarly, in Matthew 15:1-15, to the Scribes and Pharisees the Lord Jesus says “And in vain they worship Me, Teaching as doctrines the commandments of men” (Matthew 15:9). Both these examples well illustrate how the religious leaders had altered and corrupted the Word of God, even at the time of earthly ministry of the Lord Jesus.

    After the ascension of the Lord Jesus and the preaching of the gospel of salvation through faith in Him, as the Churches spread and Christian Believers began to increase everywhere, Satan again planted these altered forms of teachings of the Christian Faith. One serious handicap at that time was the lack of the written and compiled New Testament text, as we have in out hands now, and this made Satan’s work much easier, since all the teachings were either orally given, or were in form of letters written to persons or Churches in various locations. While looking at the few examples that are given below, please keep noting the people who were used by Satan to carry out this alteration and corruption of God’s Word. You will see that practically every time it were the religious leaders or prominent people from or related to the Church, whom Satan used. Just a few of the many examples are:

·        In Acts 20:28-30, Paul on his way to Rome as a prisoner, meets with the elders of the Ephesian Church, and warns them of people who will come in to preach perverse things and draw people away; and he specifically states that some these perverse people will arise from amongst them – the very Church Elders he was addressing, and warning.

·        In Galatians 1:6-9, the Apostle Paul is admonishing the Galatian Believers for turning to a false gospel, and that too soon after receiving the true gospel. But also note who Paul refers to as the ones who are likely to preach this false gospel – he himself, his companions, even an angel from heaven! In other words, those who have been entrusted with the gospel and given the understanding about it, the preachers and teachers gifted with preaching and teaching the Word of God, can be deceived into preaching and teaching false things. This again goes to affirm that Satan very cleverly uses the godly people, to preach and teach things contrary to God and His Word.

·        Similarly in 2 Timothy 2:17-18, and 2 Thessalonians 2:1-2, Paul corrects the wrong message that was being preached by some preachers and was disturbing the Churches, that the second coming of the Lord Jesus had already happened, but they were left behind; thus, making them think that their faith was vain. Recognized preachers of the Churches were preaching wrong things.

·        The Apostle John, in 1 John 4:1 warns against many false prophets who had gone out into the world with a wrong doctrine about the Lord Jesus and salvation.

·        Consider the seven Churches of Revelations chapters 2 and 3, and what severe admonition the Lord had for those Elders having the charge of those Churches; for five of those seven Churches, for their wrong doctrines and teachings.

    If you give it serious thought, in the New Testament, all the letters, were written to persons or Churches mainly to correct the many misunderstandings, misconceptions, and wrong teachings that had crept into the lives of the Christian Believers. In other words, as soon as the Christian teachings spread, their corrupted versions from Satan also spread, at least at the same pace if not faster. Therefore, about half of the New Testament text, i.e., all the letters between the books of Acts and Revelation, were all written for this one main purpose – to correct the distortions and misinterpretations that Satan had brought into the Word. If you study how these various satanic teachings and doctrines infiltrated and settled into the Churches and congregations, and then spread to others from them, you will be surprised to see that in letting these satanic corruptions enter and settle down in the Churches and congregations, the various religious leaders and elders had a very major role to play, which was of course strongly helped and supported by the blind-followers of those leaders as well as the tendency of passive unquestioning acceptance by the congregation.

    In the next article we will see about the manner in which this tampering with god’s Word and distorting it is happening in the Churches and Assemblies in the present days, and how to recognize that a religious leader may have been ensnared by Satan into inadvertently corrupting God’s Word, without being aware of it, realizing it.

    If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord, make your decision in favor of the Lord Jesus now to ensure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. Where there is obedience to the Lord, where there is respect and obedience to His Word, there is also the blessing and protection of the Lord. Repenting of your sins, and asking the Lord Jesus for forgiveness of your sins, voluntarily and sincerely, surrendering yourself to Him - is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. You only have to say a short but sincere prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ willingly and with a penitent heart, and at the same time completely commit and submit your life to Him. You can also make this prayer and submission in words something like, “Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sins and repent of them. I thank you for taking my sins upon yourself, paying for them through your life.  Because of them you died on the cross in my place, were buried, and you rose again from the grave on the third day for my salvation, and today you are the living Lord God and have freely provided to me the forgiveness, and redemption from my sins, through faith in you. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands." Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.
