मसीही विश्वास से संबंधित कुछ मूल तथ्य 

पिछले लेखों में हम एक बहुत महत्वपूर्ण विषय, बाइबल के अनुसार पाप और उद्धार तथा इनमें निहित अभिप्राय क्या हैं, और इनसे जुड़ी हुई महत्वपूर्ण बातें क्या हैं, को देख चुके हैं। आज से हम इससे आगे का विषय “मसीही विश्वास एवं शिष्यता” को देखना आरंभ करेंगे, जो इस पिछले विषय पर आधारित होगा तथा इससे और आगे की बातों को प्रकट करेगा। इस शृंखला में विचार के लिए हम आज बाइबल के अनुसार उद्धार और नया जन्म पाने के लिए मसीही विश्वास से संबंधित कुछ मूल बातों को देखेंगे। 

जैसा हम पहले के लेखों में देख चुके हैं, न तो परमेश्वर का कोई धर्म है, न परमेश्वर ने कभी कोई धर्म बनाया, और न ही प्रभु यीशु मसीह ने कभी अपने शिष्यों से उनके नाम पर कोई धर्म आरंभ एवं स्थापित करने, किसी धर्म का प्रचार करने, या लोगों का धर्म परिवर्तन करवाने की कभी कोई शिक्षा अथवा निर्देश दिया। प्रभु यीशु ने अपने शिष्यों को संसार में इसी निर्देश के साथ भेजा कि वे सारे संसार में जाकर लोगों को उद्धार के सुसमाचार के बारे में बताएं। और जो उद्धार के सुसमाचार पर विश्वास करें, स्वेच्छा से प्रभु के शिष्य बनें, उन्हें प्रभु यीशु मसीह की शिष्यता में बढ़ाएं, “यीशु ने उन के पास आकर कहा, कि स्वर्ग और पृथ्वी का सारा अधिकार मुझे दिया गया है। इसलिये तुम जा कर सब जातियों के लोगों को चेला बनाओ और उन्हें पिता और पुत्र और पवित्रआत्मा के नाम से बपतिस्मा दो। और उन्हें सब बातें जो मैं ने तुम्हें आज्ञा दी है, मानना सिखाओ: और देखो, मैं जगत के अन्‍त तक सदैव तुम्हारे संग हूं” (मत्ती 28:18-20)। साथ ही हम यह भी देख चुके हैं कि परमेश्वर ने संसार के सभी मनुष्यों के लिए जो पापों की क्षमा, उद्धार, और नया जन्म प्राप्त करने का प्रावधान किया है, वह न तो किसी धर्म के अंतर्गत किया, न उसे किसी धर्म विशेष से जोड़ा, और न ही उस समाधान में किसी धार्मिक रीति-रिवाज़ अथवा अनुष्ठान के निर्वाह की कोई भी भूमिका अथवा महत्व है, और न ही यह किन्हीं कार्यों अथवा कर्मों के द्वारा संपन्न अथवा लागू होता है। परमेश्वर द्वारा उपलब्ध करवाया गया यह निवारण पूर्णतः परमेश्वर प्रभु यीशु मसीह पर स्वेच्छा तथा पूरे मन से किए गए विश्वास ही पर आधारित है, और बिना किसी भी अन्य मनुष्य के इसमें सम्मिलित हुए अथवा मध्यस्थ हुए, केवल अपने पापों से पश्चाताप करने वाले मनुष्य और प्रभु यीशु मसीह के मध्य संबंध से है। यह सभी के लिए समान रीति से मुफ़्त में उपलब्ध है, वे चाहे किसी भी देश, धर्म, जाति, सामाजिक स्थान और स्तर, समृद्धि, शिक्षा, रंग, लिंग, आदि के क्यों न हो। साथ ही, परमेश्वर का यह प्रावधान वंशागत अथवा पारिवारिक नहीं है; प्रत्येक मनुष्य को समझ-बूझकर अपने जीवन में इसे कार्यान्वित करने के लिए आप ही इसके विषय निर्णय लेना होता है, तब ही यह उसके जीवन में लागू हो सकता है। इस प्रावधान को उपलब्ध परमेश्वर ने करवाया है, स्वीकार करना अथवा अस्वीकार करना, यह प्रत्येक मनुष्य का अपना निर्णय है; अन्य कोई भी व्यक्ति इस निर्णय को किसी के लिए न तो ले सकता है और न ही किसी के लिए कार्यान्वित करवा सकता है।

इसीलिए, परमेश्वर के वचन बाइबल के अनुसार, प्रभु यीशु मसीह पर विश्वास करना, और उसके साथ संबंध स्थापित कर के उस संबंध का निर्वाह करना, मसीही विश्वास कहलाता है, कोई धर्म नहीं, और न ही कभी यह कोई धर्म था। इस मसीही विश्वास को बिगाड़ कर इसे ‘ईसाई धर्म’ का नाम और रूप देना न तो परमेश्वर की ओर से है, न परमेश्वर ने करवाया, और न परमेश्वर को स्वीकार्य है। बाइबल के अनुसार व्यक्ति चाहे ईसाई धर्म को माने, या किसी अन्य धर्म को, किन्तु जब तक वह नया जन्म लेकर मसीही विश्वासी नहीं बन जाता है, प्रभु यीशु के साथ एक व्यक्तिगत संबंध स्थापित करके प्रभु यीशु का शिष्य नहीं हो जाता है, तब तक वह अपने पापों में ही बिना उनकी क्षमा पाए हुए बना रहता है; और जो बिना पापों की क्षमा प्राप्त किए मरेगा, उसे फिर उन पापों के दण्ड को भोगना होगा, परमेश्वर से दूर नरक में जाना होगा, चाहे वह ईसाई धर्म का मानने वाला और ईसाई धर्म के रीति-रिवाजों, त्यौहारों, अनुष्ठानों का कितनी भी निष्ठा के साथ पालन क्यों न करता रहा हो।  

अगले लेख में हम बाइबल में प्रथम चर्च या कलीसिया, अर्थात आरंभिक मसीही विश्वासियों के समूह या मंडली की गतिविधियों के लेख - नए नियम में प्रेरितों के काम नामक पुस्तक में से मसीही विश्वास को कुछ और विस्तार से देखेंगे और समझेंगे। आप यदि अभी भी अपने धर्म, धार्मिकता, भले कार्यों और नेक कर्मों, आदि के द्वारा परमेश्वर प्रभु यीशु मसीह से उद्धार और पापों की क्षमा के भ्रम में पड़े हुए हैं, तो मेरा आप से विनम्र निवेदन है कि परमेश्वर के वचन से इन बातों से संबंधित तथ्यों का अध्ययन कीजिए, और सही निर्णय कर लीजिए। आप पाप और उद्धार से संबंधित इससे पहले के लेखों का अवलोकन करने के द्वारा भी इस विषय का अध्ययन कर सकते हैं। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपनी ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी।

Christian Faith - Some Basic Facts

In the previous articles, we have seen about a very important topic related to the Christian Faith,  What, according to the Bible, are sin and salvation; and have considered the important things related to them, and their implications. From today, we will be starting the next topic, “Christian Faith and Discipleship,” which builds further upon these topics. In this new series, today we will look at some basic facts about salvation, i.e., about being Born-Again,and about the Christian Faith.

As we have seen in the earlier articles, God does not have a religion, nor did He ever make any religion, and nor did the Lord Jesus ever ask His disciples to start and establish any religion in His name, or preach about a religion, and neither did the Lord ever give any teaching or instructions to do any religious conversions amongst the people of the world. The Lord Jesus sent out His disciples into the world to tell the people of the world about the gospel of salvation. Those who believe in and accept the Gospel, voluntarily decide to become the disciples of the Lord Jesus, to nurture them and help them live and grow as disciples of the Lord, “And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, "All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age." Amen” (Matthew 28:18-20). We have also seen that the provision that God has prepared and made available to mankind as remedy for the problem of sin, was neither done under any religion, nor did God associate it with any religion, nor is there any role or importance of any religious rituals, rites, and ceremonies, and neither is it achieved or implemented through any works or particular deeds. This provision made available by God is completely dependent upon a voluntary full-hearted acceptance of faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, the repentance of sins and asking for the Lord’s forgiveness for them without the inclusion or mediation of any other person between the Lord Jesus and the person accepting the Lord Jesus as Saviour. It is available to everyone, all over the world, free of any cost; their nationality, religion, caste, social status, prosperity, education, skin color, gender, etc. have no role, whatsoever, in their being saved by faith in the Lord Jesus. Also, God’s this provision is not hereditary or familail; every person has to take a considered decision about this in his life for himself, only then does it become applicable and effective in his life. Although this provision has been made available by God, but to accept it or reject it is every person’s personal decision; no one else can take the decision for, or, make it applicable for anyone else.

Therefore, according to God’s Word the Bible, believing in the Lord Jesus, establishing a relationship of faith with Him, and then living out that relationship of faith is what is known as the Christian Faith, it is not a religion and it never was a religion. Corrupting this Christian Faith and giving it the form and name of “Christian Religion” is not from God, neither has God got it done, nor is it acceptable to Him. According to the Bible, whether a person follows the Christian religion or any other religion, unless he is Born-Again and becomes a Christian Believer, unless he has come into a personal relationship with Lord Jesus Christ and has become His disciple, he is still continuing in his sins without their being forgiven; and all those who die without having received the forgiveness of their sins, will then have to suffer the punishment of their sins of being eternally separated from God in hell, even though he may be a staunch follower of the Christian religion, and may have been fulfilling all the rites, rituals, and ceremonies, and have been very diligently observing all the feasts and festivals traditionally associated with this religion.

In the next article, we will see in some detail the activities and beliefs of the initial Christian Believers, i.e., the First Church, as given in the Book of Acts, and understand this further. If you are still living in the deception of being righteous in God’s eyes through your religion, good works, self-righteousness etc. instead of the righteousness of repentance of sins and faith in the Lord Jesus, then it is my humble request that you please study about these things from God’s Word the Bible, and come to a correct decision. You can also do this by going through the previous articles on Sin and Salvation.

If you are still not Born Again, have not obtained salvation, have not asked the Lord Jesus for forgiveness for your sins, then you have the opportunity to do so right now. A short prayer said voluntarily with a sincere heart, with heart-felt repentance for your sins, and a fully submissive attitude, “Lord Jesus, I confess that I have disobeyed You, and have knowingly or unknowingly, in mind, in thought, in attitude, and in deeds, committed sins. I believe that you have fully borne the punishment of my sins by your sacrifice on the cross, and have paid the full price of those sins for all eternity. Please forgive my sins, change my heart and mind towards you, and make me your disciple, take me with you." God longs for your company, wants to see you blessed; but to make this possible, is your personal decision. Will you not say this prayer now, while you have the time and opportunity to do so - the decision is yours.

पिछले लेख में हमने प्रश्न "क्या उद्धार पा लेने, प्रभु यीशु मसीह का शिष्य बन जाने से व्यक्ति संसार के दुख-तकलीफों, बीमारियों, समस्याओं, आदि से मुक्त हो जाता है, और सांसारिक समस्याओं से निश्चिंत होकर जीवन जीने लगता है?" पर विचार करना, और बाइबल स इसके उत्तर को देखना आरंभ किया था। हमने देखा था कि बाइबल में, सुसमाचारों में, न तो प्रभु यीशु मसीह ने, और न ही प्रभु के बाद मसीही सेवकाई में संलग्न उनके शिष्यों ने कभी ऐसा कोई आश्वासन, ऐसी कोई शिक्षा दी। वरन प्रभु ने भी, और प्रभु के शिष्यों ने भी यह स्पष्ट कर दिया कि मसीही विश्वास का जीवन दुख, क्लेश, सताव, आदि को सहते रहने का जीवन है। इसलिए जो भी सुसमाचार प्रचार यह कहते हुए करते हैं कि मसीही विश्वास में आ जाने से व्यक्ति संसार के दुख-तकलीफों, बीमारियों, समस्याओं, आदि से मुक्त हो जाता है, वह एक मन-गढ़न्त झूठे आश्वासन का प्रचार करते हैं, बाइबल की सच्चाई का नहीं। आज हम इस विषय पर अपने मनन को आगे ज़ारी रखेंगे।  

परमेश्वर के वचन बाइबल में और भी अनेकों पद हैं जो यह दिखाते हैं कि मसीही जीवन संघर्ष का और संसार के लोगों के बैर और विरोध का निरंतर सामना करते रहने का जीवन है; और जो भी प्रभु यीशु के पीछे चलना चाहता है, उसे यह सब सहने के लिए तैयार रहना चाहिए। किन्तु साथ ही प्रत्येक मसीही विश्वासी को यह परमेश्वर से आश्वासन भी है कि उसकी प्रत्येक परिस्थिति में प्रभु उसके साथ होगा, उसे समझ, शक्ति, और शांति देगा कि वह उन परिस्थितियों का सामना कर सके “मैं ने ये बातें तुम से इसलिये कही हैं, कि तुम्हें मुझ में शान्ति मिले; संसार में तुम्हें क्लेश होता है, परन्तु ढाढ़स बांधो, मैं ने संसार को जीत लिया है” (यूहन्ना 16:33), और उसे उन सब में से भी सुरक्षित निकाल कर लाएगा, और अंततः सब बातें मिलकर प्रभु के जन के लिए भलाई ही को उत्पन्न करेंगी “और हम जानते हैं, कि जो लोग परमेश्वर से प्रेम रखते हैं, उन के लिये सब बातें मिलकर भलाई ही को उत्पन्न करती है; अर्थात उन्हीं के लिये जो उस की इच्छा के अनुसार बुलाए हुए हैं” (रोमियों 8:28)। 

    पूरा नया नियम इस बात का गवाह है कि प्रभु यीशु मसीह के शिष्यों को हर स्थान पर, अपनी सारी सेवकाई के दिनों में बहुत से दुखों, क्लेशों, और सताव का सामना करना पड़ा है। जीवन कभी भी उनके लिए सहज और सरल नहीं रहा; वरन जिनके मध्य में होकर उन्होंने प्रभु की सेवकाई की और जिन लोगों की भलाई की, उन्हीं में से उनके बैरियों-विरोधियों ने निकलकर उनके लिए बहुत परेशानियाँ उत्पन्न कीं। किन्तु फिर भी जिसने एक बार प्रभु के प्रेम, कृपा, अनुग्रह, और उद्धार के स्वाद को चख लिया, एक बार जिसने प्रभु की शान्ति और आशीष को अपने जीवन में तमाम कठिनाइयों और मुसीबतों के मध्य में अनुभव कर लिया, जिसने एक बार प्रभु यीशु मसीह की वास्तविकता और खराई को पहचान लिया, फिर संसार के ये क्लेश उसके लिए निराश का नहीं, वरन उस अद्भुत, उत्तम स्वर्गीय आशा का प्रमाण बन गए, जो परमेश्वर ने उसके लिए रखी हुई है, और उस उत्तम आशीष की लालसा रखते हुए वे इन सभी बातों को सहर्ष सहन कर लेते हैं “क्योंकि हमारा पल भर का हल्का सा क्लेश हमारे लिये बहुत ही महत्वपूर्ण और अनन्त महिमा उत्पन्न करता जाता है। और हम तो देखी हुई वस्तुओं को नहीं परन्तु अनदेखी वस्तुओं को देखते रहते हैं, क्योंकि देखी हुई वस्तुएं थोड़े ही दिन की हैं, परन्तु अनदेखी वस्तुएं सदा बनी रहती हैं” (2 कुरिन्थियों 4:17-18)। फिर शारीरिक चंगाई का उसके लिए कोई विशेष महत्व नहीं है, क्योंकि वह व्यक्ति जानता है कि एक दिन तो शरीर ने मिटना ही है; और जो भी रोग या अस्वस्थता उसमें है, प्रभु उसमें भी उसकी सहायता करेगा, उसे आशीष देगा “और उसने मुझ से कहा, मेरा अनुग्रह तेरे लिये बहुत है; क्योंकि मेरी सामर्थ्य निर्बलता में सिद्ध होती है; इसलिये मैं बड़े आनन्द से अपनी निर्बलताओं पर घमण्ड करूंगा, कि मसीह की सामर्थ्य मुझ पर छाया करती रहे। इस कारण मैं मसीह के लिये निर्बलताओं, और निन्‍दाओं में, और दरिद्रता में, और उपद्रवों में, और संकटों में, प्रसन्न हूं; क्योंकि जब मैं निर्बल होता हूं, तभी बलवन्‍त होता हूं” (2 कुरिन्थियों 12:9-10)।

किसी भी मसीही विश्वासी को इन परिस्थितियों से घबराने की आवश्यकता नहीं है, “...क्योंकि उसने आप ही कहा है, कि मैं तुझे कभी न छोडूंगा, और न कभी तुझे त्यागूंगा। इसलिये हम बेधड़क हो कर कहते हैं, कि प्रभु, मेरा सहायक है; मैं न डरूंगा; मनुष्य मेरा क्या कर सकता है” (इब्रानियों 13:5-6), और साथ ही प्रभु का अपने विश्वासियों, अपने शिष्यों के लिए यह भी आश्वासन है कि उन्हें उनके सहने की सीमा से बाहर कभी किसी परीक्षा का सामना नहीं करना पड़ेगा “तुम किसी ऐसी परीक्षा में नहीं पड़े, जो मनुष्य के सहने से बाहर है: और परमेश्वर सच्चा है: वह तुम्हें सामर्थ्य से बाहर परीक्षा में न पड़ने देगा, वरन परीक्षा के साथ निकास भी करेगा; कि तुम सह सको” (1 कुरिन्थियों 10:13)। शैतान और उसके लोग तो हमें निराश करने और गिराने, विश्वास से भटकाने, प्रभु पर संदेह करने के लिए बहुत से प्रयास करेंगे। इसलिए शैतान के द्वारा फैलाई जा रही इन बातों पर ध्यान मत दीजिए। प्रभु के आपके प्रति प्रमाणित किए गए प्रेम, कृपा, और अनुग्रह, तथा उसके द्वारा आपको प्रदान किए जा रहे पाप-क्षमा प्राप्त करने के अवसर के मूल्य को समझिए, और अभी इस अवसर का लाभ उठा लीजिए।

 

आप को पाप से मुक्ति दिलाने और परमेश्वर से मेल-मिलाप करके, उसकी सन्तान बनकर अनन्तकाल तक रहने के लिए प्रभु यीशु ने तो अपना काम कर के दे दिया है; किन्तु क्या आपने उसके इस आपकी ओर बढ़े हुए प्रेम और अनुग्रह के हाथ को थाम लिया है, उसकी भेंट को स्वीकार कर लिया है? या आप अभी भी अपने ही प्रयासों के द्वारा वह करना चाह रहे हैं जो मनुष्यों के लिए कर पाना असंभव है? आपके द्वारा स्वेच्छा से, सच्चे और पूर्णतः समर्पित मन से, अपने पापों के प्रति सच्चे पश्चाताप के साथ आपके द्वारा की गई एक छोटी प्रार्थना, “हे प्रभु यीशु मैं मान लेता हूँ कि मैंने जाने-अनजाने में, मन-ध्यान-विचार और व्यवहार में आपकी अनाज्ञाकारिता की है, पाप किए हैं। मैं मान लेता हूँ कि आपने क्रूस पर दिए गए अपने बलिदान के द्वारा मेरे पापों के दण्ड को अपने ऊपर लेकर पूर्णतः सह लिया, उन पापों की पूरी-पूरी कीमत सदा काल के लिए चुका दी है। कृपया मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मेरे मन को अपनी ओर परिवर्तित करें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें, अपने साथ कर लें” आपका सच्चे मन से लिया गया मन परिवर्तन का यह निर्णय आपके इस जीवन तथा परलोक के जीवन को आशीषित तथा स्वर्गीय जीवन बना देगा। अभी अवसर है, अभी प्रभु का निमंत्रण आपके लिए है - उसे स्वीकार कर लीजिए।

In the previous article we had started to consider the question "By being saved and Born-Again, and becoming a disciple of Lord Jesus Christ, is a person delivered from the worldly problems and pains, from sickness, adverse situations etc. and begins to live a life free of problems of the world?" and seek its answer from the Bible. We had seen that in the Bible, in the gospel accounts, neither the Lord Jesus, nor after the Lord His disciples engaged in Christian Ministry, ever give any such teaching or assurance to anyone. Rather, not only the Lord, but also the Disciples made it very clear that the life of Christian Faith is a life of continually suffering pain, persecution, and problems. Therefore, those who while preaching the gospel say that, after coming into the Christian Faith a person delivered from the worldly problems and pains, from sickness, adverse situations etc. and begins to live a life free of problems of the world preach their own contrived idea and not the facts of the Bible. Today we will continue to further ponder over this topic.  

In God's Word the Bible, there are many other verses that show that the Christian life is a life of struggles, of facing the opposition of the world and persecution from the worldly people; and anyone who wants to follow the Lord Jesus, should be ready to face and suffer all of this. But every Christian Believer also has this assurance from God that in every problem and situation he faces, God will be with him, give him the required wisdom, power, and peace to face those situations, “These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world." (John 16:33), will safely carry him through those circumstances safe and secure, and eventually all things will work together for the good of the follower of the Lord “And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose” (Romans 8:28).

The whole of the New Testament is a witness to this fact that the followers of the Lord Jesus faced a lot of problems, pains, and persecutions during their ministry and Christian service. Life was never easy or convenient for them; rather, the very people amongst whom they served the Lord and did good for them, from those very people many turned against them and created a lot of problems for them. Nevertheless, anyone who has once experienced the Lord’s love, kindness, grace, and salvation, anyone who has experienced the peace and blessings of the Lord Jesus, even in all the hardships and problems he had to face, he who has come to realize the truth and reality of the Lord Jesus Christ, for him these problems and persecutions of the world became not a cause of being despondent, but a proof of the wonderful, excellent heavenly blessings that God has kept for them; and for the hope of those blessings, they continued to suffer all of this with joy “For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory, while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal” (2 Corinthians 4:17-18). For such a person, physical healing has no significance, since he knows that eventually the body will die, someday; and presently whatever illness or weakness he may be having, the Lord will help him through it, and bless him because of it “And He said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness." Therefore, most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Therefore, I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ's sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong” (2 Corinthians 12:9-10). 

No Christian Believer should get perturbed about these circumstances and situations, “Let your conduct be without covetousness; be content with such things as you have. For He Himself has said, "I will never leave you nor forsake you." So, we may boldly say: "The Lord is my helper; I will not fear. What can man do to me?"” (Hebrews 13:5-6). Moreover, the Lord has also assured His disciples that He will never allow them to be tempted beyond their limits “No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it” (1 Corinthians 10:13). Satan and his people will make many attempts and efforts to discourage us and make us fail and fall, to become weak and distracted in our faith, to doubt the Lord and His Word. But do not get carried away by the things being spread by Satan, but make full use of the opportunity you have to utilize the Lord’s love, kindness, grace, and offer of forgiveness of sins being extended to you. The Lord Jesus has done His part; He has made ready and available salvation with all the benefits freely to everyone; but have you accepted His offer? Have you taken His hand of love and grace extended towards you and the free gift He offers; or are you still determined to do that which no man can ever accomplish through his own efforts?

If you are still not Born Again, have not obtained salvation, have not asked the Lord Jesus for forgiveness for your sins, then you have the opportunity to do so right now. A short prayer said voluntarily with a sincere heart, with heart-felt repentance for your sins, and a fully submissive attitude, “Lord Jesus, I confess that I have disobeyed You, and have knowingly or unknowingly, in mind, in thought, in attitude, and in deeds, committed sins. I believe that you have fully borne the punishment of my sins by your sacrifice on the cross, and have paid the full price of those sins for all eternity. Please forgive my sins, change my heart and mind towards you, and make me your disciple, take me with you." God longs for your company, wants to see you blessed; but to make this possible, is your personal decision. Will you not say this prayer now, while you have the time and opportunity to do so - the decision is yours.

प्रश्न: क्या उद्धार पा लेने, प्रभु यीशु मसीह का शिष्य बन जाने से व्यक्ति संसार के दुख-तकलीफों, बीमारियों, समस्याओं, आदि से मुक्त हो जाता है, और सांसारिक समस्याओं से निश्चिंत होकर जीवन जीने लगता है?

उत्तर: यद्यपि बहुत से लोग अपने सुसमाचार प्रचार में इस बात का आश्वासन देते हैं, किन्तु, परमेश्वर के वचन बाइबल में ऐसा कोई आश्वासन नहीं दिया गया है; और न ही प्रभु यीशु ने कभी अपने शिष्यों से यह कहा कि उनपर विश्वास लाने वाले को सांसारिक समस्याओं से छुटकारा मिल जाएगा, और उनका जीवन सुख एवं समृद्धि से भर जाएगा। जो भी इस प्रकार की शिक्षा या प्रचार के साथ उद्धार का सुसमाचार सुनाते हैं, वे गलत प्रचार करते हैं, लोगों को ऐसा आश्वासन देते हैं जिसका बाइबल में कोई समर्थन नहीं है, और पापों के परिणामों की गंभीरता तथा प्रभु यीशु द्वारा उपलब्ध करवाए गए पापों के समाधान की महानता के आधार पर नहीं, वरन सांसारिक बातों के लालच में लाकर लोगों को प्रभु यीशु मसीह की ओर आकर्षित करने और उनका अनुसरण करवाने के प्रयास करते हैं। 

जब प्रभु यीशु ने अपने शिष्यों को उनकी पहली प्रचार सेवकाई के लिए भेजा था (मत्ती 10 अध्याय), तब ही उन्हें उन कठिन और दुखदायी परिस्थितियों के लिए आगाह कर दिया था जिनका उन्हें इस सेवकाई के निर्वाह में सामना करना होगा:

* वे पकड़े जाएंगे और दण्ड के लिए अधिकारियों के सामने खड़े किए जाएंगे (10:16-20)

* उनके अपने घर के लोग और निकट संबंधी उनके शत्रु हो जाएंगे (10:21)

* उन्हें लोगों के बैर का सामना करना पड़ेगा (10:22)

* उन्हें इस बैर और सताव से बचने के लिए एक से दूसरे स्थान पर भागना पड़ेगा (10:23)

बाद में प्रभु के शिष्यों ने भी मसीही विश्वास के जीवन के विषय इन्हीं बातों को दोहराया:

* प्रेरितों 14:22 "और चेलों के मन को स्थिर करते रहे और यह उपदेश देते थे, कि हमें बड़े क्लेश उठा कर परमेश्वर के राज्य में प्रवेश करना होगा।"

* 2 तीमुथियुस 3:12 "पर जितने मसीह यीशु में भक्ति के साथ जीवन बिताना चाहते हैं वे सब सताए जाएंगे।"

* 1 यूहन्ना 2:18 "हे लड़कों, यह अन्तिम समय है, और जैसा तुम ने सुना है, कि मसीह का विरोधी आने वाला है, उसके अनुसार अब भी बहुत से मसीह के विरोधी उठे हैं; इस से हम जानते हैं, कि यह अन्तिम समय है।"

In the previous articles, we have been considering some important and commonly asked questions related to Christian Faith, forgiveness of sins, salvation, and being Born-Again, and learning their answers from the Bible. In the last article we had seen that a Christian Believer despite being saved, despite being Born-Again, might still sin and does sin. But he also has the help of God to extricate him from the sin; if a person continues to live a careless and wayward life, and misuses God’s help and grace, then he has to face God’s chastening here on earth and suffer loss of his heavenly rewards for his eternal life. This means that neither salvation being eternal, nor committing sin by a saved person can be taken lightly; because even if salvation is not lost, the person persisting in sin will have to face the harmful effects of sin, in this life as well as the next. Today in this series, we will look at one more important question: 

Question: By being saved and Born-Again, and becoming a disciple of Lord Jesus Christ, is a person delivered from the worldly problems and pains, from sickness, adverse situations etc. and begins to live a life free of problems of the world?

Answer: Although many people while preaching the Gospel, give an assurance about this, but in God’s Word the Bible, there is no such assurance given, and neither did the Lord Jesus ever say to His disciples that those who believe on Him will be delivered from the problems of this world, and their lives will be filled with worldly joy, satisfaction, and material prosperity. Whosoever preaches any such teaching or gospel, preaches falsehood, gives an assurance to the people that is not given in the Bible. They try to entice people into being attracted towards the Lord Jesus and follow Him for worldly gains and material things, instead of showing to them the seriousness of the problem of sin and the wonderful solution prepared and made freely available by the Lord Jesus for this problem.

The Lord Jesus Christ, at the time of sending His disciples for the first time for their ministry (Matthew 10), forewarned them of the difficult and painful situations they will have to face during this ministry:

* They will be taken into custody and brought before officials to be punished (Matthew 10:16-20).

* People from their own homes and families will become their enemies (Matthew 10:21). 

* They will have to face the opposition of the people (Matthew 10:22).

* They will have to run from one place to another to escape from this opposition and persecution (Matthew 10:23).

The Lord had also said that those who wanted to be His disciples should be willing to take up their cross daily to follow Him “Then He said to them all, "If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me” (Luke 9:23). At the time the Lord Jesus made this statement, the Lord Himself had not yet been crucified, but His followers knew and understood that those who had been condemned to death would walk to the place of being crucified bearing their cross, and those who saw this understood that the man was a despicable criminal, and now not he but only his dead body will return. The Lord’s implication in asking His disciples to daily lift their cross was that the disciple of Christ should be ready to suffer and die for being His disciple, every day. Before His being caught for crucifixion, the Lord Jesus had cautioned His disciples, “They will put you out of the synagogues; yes, the time is coming that whoever kills you will think that he offers God service” (John 16:2). Therefore, in the face of these teachings of the Lord, how can anyone claim that becoming a disciple of Lord Jesus will ensure a life of ease and security, free from problems and adverse situations?

Later, even the disciples of the Lord Jesus re-iterated these teachings in context of leading a life of Christian Faith:

* Acts 14:22 "Strengthening the souls of the disciples, exhorting them to continue in the faith, and saying, 'We must through many tribulations enter the kingdom of God.'"

* 2 Timothy 3:12 "Yes, and all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution."

* 1 John 2:18 "Little children, it is the last hour; and as you have heard that the Antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have come, by which we know that it is the last hour."

* 1 John 3:13 "Do not marvel, my brethren, if the world hates you."

* 1 Peter 4:12 "Beloved, do not think it strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened to you;"

* James 1:23 "My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience."

In other words, since coming into the Christian Faith is coming out of the clutches and kingdom of Satan, into the Kingdom of God, therefore in this world, in this physical life, Satan will not miss any opportunity to persecute Christians, work against them and instigate people against them. Therefore, after coming into the Christian Faith, how can anyone while in this world, remain free from the worldly problems and pains, from sickness, adverse situations etc. and live a life free of problems of the world? We will continue to ponder over this topic and learn about it from the Bible in the next article. 

For now, ponder over the fact that to deliver you from sin and reconcile you with God, to live forever as a child of God, the Lord Jesus has done His part; He has made ready and available salvation with all the benefits freely to everyone; but have you accepted His offer? We had closed the previous article with the question "Then what is the benefit of being saved or Born-Again? If both can sin, then what difference, if any, is there between a saved and an unsaved person?" Today we will consider the answer to this question, the difference between the two; and also reaffirm the the importance and benefits of being saved, that we have seen earlier. There is a great difference in the lives, particularly the eternal lives in the next world, of those saved in contrast to those not saved - unlike the not-saved person, the saved person is always protected, the Lord helps him and keeps him safe in every circumstance; in this world as well as the next. Consider some verses from the Bible:

* Proverbs 24:16 "For a righteous man may fall seven times And rise again, But the wicked shall fall by calamity."

* Job 5:19 "He [God] shall deliver you in six troubles, Yes, in seven no evil shall touch you."

* Psalm 37:24 "Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down; For the Lord upholds him with His hand."

* Psalm 34:19 "Many are the afflictions of the righteous, But the Lord delivers him out of them all."

* Proverbs 14:32 "The wicked is banished in his wickedness, But the righteous has a refuge in his death."

But take note, again, this is not a license for the saved or Born-Again person to sin with impunity; as we have already considered in detail in the preceding articles. Rather, understand this with this example, when a baby starts to stand and walk, initially he stumbles and falls many times, walks with faltering steps, even hurts himself due to the falls; but every time the parents help him, encourage him, help him to get up and walk again, and often take him in their arms and console him or pet him if he is hurt. Similarly, God the Father too helps His spiritual children, encourages them, guides them when they fall in sin. But just as when the children become impertinent, willfully disobedient, and willfully keep disobeying the parents, repeatedly keep on doing bad or forbidden things, then in such a situation, only verbal warnings do not suffice, the parents have to chasten that recalcitrant child; similarly, God too appropriately chastens His recalcitrant children (Hebrews 12:5-11). On being Born-Again the Christian Believer enters the spiritual family of God as a spiritual infant. They may be unable and unlearned to do anything, they are not spiritually mature and perfect, they do not have the proper knowledge and understanding of God's Word, but still they are an inseparable part of that family. They have equal part and rights to everything in God's family, to every privilege, every blessing, every respect, honor, and status of the family (Romans 8:17-18). No one can take away this right from them. Once they become part of the family, the Holy Spirit starts changing them bit by bit into the likeness of the Lord (2 Corinthians 3:18)। Since they are not perfect, therefore, in their lives both good and bad things are seen; this incompleteness in them does not imply that they are not the children of God, or that their salvation has been taken away from them, or will be taken away. In this journey to spiritual maturity, they pass through many kinds of experiences, circumstances, and tests; and where and when required Father God chastises them also. Therefore, because of some unexpected or inappropriate things being present in their lives, to conclude that they are not, or will not remain a part of God's family is incorrect, it has no support from the Bible. Rather, those who believe in such a notion, it indicates their incomplete and incorrect understanding and not having a proper knowledge of God's Word.

When we see the love and care bestowed by God the Father upon His children the Christian Believers, to keep them safe, encourage them, teach them, and guide them into maturity, then it is surprising why people do not accept this wonderful provision of God for them? Why do they not voluntarily come up and accept the offer of the Lord Jesus and become His obedient, submitted disciples? God is not a strict disciplinarian, who is waiting to find an opportunity or way to punish man; rather, He is a loving Father who is always in search of opportunities to show His love, kindness, and grace towards us. Then why should anybody stay away from Him; reject His loving offer of reconciliation and fellowship? The Lord Jesus has done His part; He has made ready and available salvation with all the benefits freely to everyone; but have you accepted His offer? Have you taken His hand of love and grace extended towards you and the free gift He offers; or are you still determined to do that which no man can ever accomplish through his own efforts?

If you are still not Born Again, have not obtained salvation, have not asked the Lord Jesus for forgiveness for your sins, then you have the opportunity to do so right now. A short prayer said voluntarily with a sincere heart, with heart-felt repentance for your sins, and a fully submissive attitude, “Lord Jesus, I confess that I have disobeyed You, and have knowingly or unknowingly, in mind, in thought, in attitude, and in deeds, committed sins. I believe that you have fully borne the punishment of my sins by your sacrifice on the cross, and have paid the full price of those sins for all eternity. Please forgive my sins, change my heart and mind towards you, and make me your disciple, take me with you." God longs for your company, wants to see you blessed; but to make this possible, is your personal decision. Will you not say this prayer now, while you have the time and opportunity to do so - the decision is yours.
