    हमने पिछले लेख में देखा था कि एक मसीही विश्वासी को, अपनी बुलाहट का निर्वाह करने के लिए, परमेश्वर से आशीषित और सफल होने के लिए, और अपने जीवन के द्वारा उसकी महिमा करने के लिए सीखना होगा कि सभी परिस्थितियों का सामना साहस के साथ, पुरुषार्थ करते हुए करे, यह जानते हुए कि उसके जीवन में जो कुछ भी होगा वह परमेश्वर की अनुमति और उसके द्वारा निर्धारित सीमा के अन्दर ही होगा। हमारे जीवन में चाहे जो भी परिस्थिति आए, परमेश्वर ने उसके लिए हमें पहले से ही उपयुक्त संसाधन दे रखे हैं कि हम उस स्थिति का भली-भांति सामना कर सकें। दाऊद सुलैमान को यही बात सिखा रहा है – पुरुषार्थ करना सीख और ठान ले, विपरीत परिस्थितियों के मध्य में भी विश्वास में दृढ़ होकर खड़ा रह और साहसी हो कर हर बात का सामना कर। परमेश्वर में भरोसा बनाए रख, और ध्यान करता रह कि परमेश्वर ने पहले भी किस प्रकार से सहायता की है (1 शमूएल 17:37)।

    परमेश्वर के लोगों में बहुधा यह प्रवृत्ति देखी जाती है, कि परमेश्वर द्वारा दिए गए संसाधनों और सहायता के सहारे खड़े होकर परिस्थितियों का सामना करने की बजाए, वे “विश्वास की प्रार्थनाओं” के पीछे छिपना चाहते हैं। उनकी यही प्रार्थना होती है कि या तो परमेश्वर उनके लिए उन परिस्थितियों को हटा दे, या उन्हें उन परिस्थितियों से बाहर निकाल ले। इससे भी बढ़कर उनकी यह गलत प्रवृत्ति भी होती है कि वे परमेश्वर के आगे यह विनती करते रहते हैं कि वे तो इन परिस्थितियों का सामना करने के लिए अक्षम हैं, इसलिए परमेश्वर स्वयं ही उनके लिए, उनके स्थान पर, उन परिस्थितियों का सामना कर ले। लेकिन वास्तविकता यही है कि मसीही विश्वासी इस प्रकार से प्रार्थनाओं के पीछे नहीं छुप सकते हैं, ऐसे बहाना बनाकर अपने आप को बचा नहीं सकते हैं, और अपने स्थान पर परमेश्वर को उनकी ज़िम्मेदारी पूरी करने के लिए नहीं कह सकते हैं। जयवन्त और आशीषित होने के लिए, उन्हें उन परिस्थितियों में से सक्रिय होकर जाना ही पड़ेगा। ऐसा संभव नहीं है कि विश्वासी प्रार्थना कर लें कि परमेश्वर हमारे लिए परिस्थिति का सामना कर ले, और फिर वे स्वयं आराम से घर पर बैठ जाएँ, इस प्रतीक्षा में कि परमेश्वर उनके लिए काम को करके दे देगा। इस संबंध में परमेश्वर के वचन में से कुछ उदाहरणों को देखिए:

• जब यहोशू के नेतृत्व में अमालेकियों के साथ इस्राएलियों का युद्ध हो रहा था, तब युद्ध की स्थिति का निर्धारण मूसा के प्रार्थना में उठे हुए हाथों से हो रहा था (निर्गमन 17:10-13)। किन्तु फिर भी उन इस्राएलियों को वहाँ युद्ध-भूमि पर विद्यमान रहना और युद्ध करते रहना अनिवार्य था। इस्राएली केवल मूसा की प्रार्थनाओं और उठे हुए हाथों में युद्ध को छोड़ कर अपनी विजय की प्रतीक्षा करते हुए, आराम से छावनी में नहीं बैठ सकते थे।

• परमेश्वर ने यहोशू को कनान पर विजय प्राप्त करने के लिए भेजने से पहले यही निर्देश दिए थे की वह साहसी, सामर्थी, और आज्ञाकारी बना रहे (यहोशू 1:5-9)। उसका विजयी होना और योग्य रीति से इस्राएलियों का नेतृत्व करना इस बात पर निर्भर था कि वह इस्राएलियों का नेतृत्व करते हुए व्यक्तिगत रीति से कितना साहस दिखाता है और विश्वास में कितना आज्ञाकारी रहता है। यहोशू तब ही पराजित हुआ जब उसने परमेश्वर से पूछे बिना, अपनी ही बुद्धि के सहारे कार्य किया, जैसे कि ऐ (यहोशू 7 अध्याय) और गिब्बोनियों (यहोशू 9 अध्याय) के बारे में हुआ, तब ही उसे पराजय का सामना करना पड़ा।

• यिर्मयाह से, जब परमेश्वर ने उसे इस्राएलियों के लिए अपना प्रवक्ता होने की नियुक्ति के बारे में बताया, परमेश्वर ने कहा कि उसे अपनी आयु के बारे में चिंता करने की आवश्यकता नहीं है, और न ही लोगों से डरने की, बस वह परमेश्वर पर भरोसा रखे, और परमेश्वर जो करने को कहे वही करता रहे (यिर्मयाह 1:6-8, 17-19)। यिर्मयाह के लिए जीवन और सेवकाई आसान नहीं थी, उसे बहुत विरोध का सामना करना पड़ा, दुःख उठाना पड़ा, किन्तु उसके पुरुषार्थ और परमेश्वर के लिए वफादारी से किए गए परिश्रम ने उसे अनंतकाल के लिए परमेश्वर के वचन में आदरणीय स्थान दे दिया।

• राजा यहोशापात को परमेश्वर की और से आश्वस्त किया गया था कि युद्ध उसका नहीं है, बल्कि परमेश्वर का है; लेकिन फिर भी उसे अपनी सेना को लेकर युद्ध भूमि में विद्यमान रहना था (2 इतिहास 20:15-17)। उसे आराम से घर बैठकर परमेश्वर के द्वारा काम पूरा किए जाने की प्रतीक्षा नहीं करनी थी।

• पवित्र आत्मा की अगुवाई में, पौलुस ने तिमुथियुस को भी यही निर्देश दिए – कि दृढ़, साहसी, और आज्ञाकारी बना रहे, और दुःख उठाकर भी अपनी सेवकाई को पूरा करे (2 तिमुथियुस 1:8, 4:1-5)।

 

    आज हमारे लिए, इन बढ़ते हुए विरोध और सताव के समयों में, हमें यह स्मरण रखने की आवश्यकता है कि परमेश्वर ही, अपनी योजना में, हमें ऐसे समयों में संसार में लाया है, और जहाँ पर हम हैं, वहाँ पर, तथा इन समयों और परिस्थितियों में रखा है। इसलिए, यह स्वतः ही प्रगट है कि उसने न केवल हमें इन परिस्थितियों का सामना करने के योग्य किया है, उनके लिए उचित और उपयुक्त योग्यता, क्षमता, और बुद्धिमानी प्रदान की है, बल्कि वह स्वयं भी हमेशा ही हमारे साथ बना रहता है, हमें जिस भी बात का सामना करना पड़े उसमें हमारी सहायता करने और हमारा मार्गदर्शन करने के लिए; वह हमें कभी अकेला या असुरक्षित नहीं छोड़ता है।

    इसलिए परमेश्वर के लोगों को पुरुषार्थ के साथ खड़े होने और साहस के साथ परिस्थितियों का सामना करने के लिए तैयार बने रहना चाहिए। विरोध और सताव के इन समयों में भी जिन में परमेश्वर हमें इस सँसार में ले कर आया है, जिन में हमें जीवन जीना है, हमें परमेश्वर पर अपना भरोसा बनाए रखना है।

    यदि आपने प्रभु की शिष्यता को अभी तक स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी प्रभु यीशु के पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु, मैं अपने पापों के लिए पश्चातापी हूँ, उनके लिए आप से क्षमा माँगता हूँ। मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मुझे और मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी।

Being a Man - 4

 

    We have seen in the previous article that a Christian Believer, to fulfill his calling, to be successful and blessed by God, and glorify Him through his life, has to learn and accept to face all situations courageously, in a manly manner, knowing that whatever comes in his life is with the permission of God, and to the extent that God has allowed. For all the situations that come our way, God has also already given beforehand to us the resources and ability to manage the situation. That is what David is instructing Solomon - learn and resolve to be a man, in the midst of adverse situations stand firm in the faith and handle everything bravely, having faith in God, and recalling how God has helped in the past (1 Samuel 17:37).

One very common tendency seen amongst God’s children is that instead of standing up and facing the situations through the help of the God given resources, they tend to hide behind “prayers of faith” for God to either remove those situations for them, or else to remove them from those situations; or even worse, they often plead their inability to manage the situation and ask God to handle the situation for them. But the fact of the matter is that a Christian Believer cannot just hide behind prayers, excuse himself, and ask God to do things for them instead. To be victorious and blessed, one has to be present in the situations and be active in them. The Believers, having prayed for God to manage the situation, should not be resting at home, and waiting for God to sort out the situation for them. Consider some examples from God’s Word:

• Though it was the prayers and lifted hands of Moses that were deciding the fate of Israel's battle against the Amalekites, the Israelites under Joshua had to be in the battlefield and physically be fighting to defeat them (Exodus 17:10-13). The Israelites could not just hand the battle over to Moses for prayer and God for action, and sit back in their camp, waiting for the outcome of the battle in their favor.

• To Joshua also, before sending him to conquer Canaan, God gave the same instructions that he had to be strong, courageous, and obedient (Joshua 1:5-9). His being victorious and leading the Israelites worthily, depended upon how courageously and in faith he personally behaved as the leader of the Israelites. Joshua faced defeat only when he stopped consulting God and relied on his own wisdom and thinking, as happened in the incidents of Ai (Joshua chapter 7) and the Gibeonites (Joshua chapter 9).

• To Jeremiah, when informing him of being appointed God’s spokes-person for Israelites, God said not to worry about his age, nor be afraid of the people, but just be faithful to say and do whatever God told him to say and do (Jeremiah 1:6-8; Jeremiah 1:17-19). Life and ministry were not easy for Jeremiah; he had to face a lot of opposition and sufferings, but his “being a man” and striving faithfully for God have given him an honorable place in God’s Word for eternity.

• King Jehoshaphat was assured that the battle was not his, but God's; yet he had to be present and position his army in the battlefield (2 Chronicles 20:15-17). He could not just casually sit back and wait for God to do things for him.

• To Timothy also, through the Holy Spirit, Paul gave the same instructions - to be strong, and courageous, and obedient and fulfill his ministry even while suffering for it (2 Timothy 1:8; 4:1-5).

    For us, today, in these times of increasing opposition and persecution, we need to remember that it is God, who in His plans, has brought us into this world and placed us in the places that we are in these times, in these situations. Therefore, it goes without saying that He not only has made us capable of handling the situations, having given us the required abilities and wisdom to face and overcome the situations, but He is also there with us to help and guide us in whatever we face, never leaving us alone or unprotected.

    Therefore, God's people have to learn to stand up like a man and face situations bravely, in faith, in these testing times the time that God has brought us into this world, and the time that we have been given to live through.

    If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord, make your decision in favor of the Lord Jesus now to ensure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. Where there is obedience to the Lord, where there is respect and obedience to His Word, there is also the blessing and protection of the Lord. Repenting of your sins, and asking the Lord Jesus for forgiveness of your sins, voluntarily and sincerely, surrendering yourself to Him - is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. You only have to say a short but sincere prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ willingly and with a penitent heart, and at the same time completely commit and submit your life to Him. You can also make this prayer and submission in words something like, “Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sins and repent of them. I thank you for taking my sins upon yourself, paying for them through your life.  Because of them you died on the cross in my place, were buried, and you rose again from the grave on the third day for my salvation, and today you are the living Lord God and have freely provided to me the forgiveness, and redemption from my sins, through faith in you. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands." Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.

    पिछले लेख में हमने देखा था कि समस्याएं और विपरीत परिस्थितियाँ मसीही विश्वासी के जीवन का अभिन्न अंग हैं, और उन से बचने का कोई तरीका नहीं है। हमने लेख का अन्त यह कहने के साथ किया था कि शैतान हमेशा ही मसीहियों पर मुसीबतें और समस्याएँ लाता ही रहता है। ऐसा वह न केवल उनके लिए जीवन को कठिन बनाने के लिए करता है, वरन इसलिए भी कि उन्हें उनकी आशीषों और प्रतिफलों में कुछ हानि हो, तथा साथ ही उनकी गवाही को भी बिगाड़ सके जिससे कि लोग उनका अनुसरण न करें, मसीह में विश्वास नहीं करें और उद्धार प्राप्त न कर सकें। इसलिए, मसीही विश्वासियों को निरन्तर प्रयास में लगे रहना चाहिए कि विश्वास के अपने जीवन को जी कर दिखाएँ, इसके लिए पुरुषार्थ करें, तथा परमेश्वर की सहायता से आशीषित और सफल हों, तथा उनके जीवनों से परमेश्वर को महिमा मिले।

    लेकिन, बहुधा यह प्रश्न उठाया जाता है, खास कर तब जब परिस्थितियाँ विकट हों, कि परमेश्वर मसीही विश्वासी के जीवन में इन समस्याओं और विपरीत परिस्थितियों को आने ही क्यों देता है? क्यों परमेश्वर शैतान की इन युक्तियों और हमलों को हम से दूर नहीं रखता है? जब भी हम इस प्रश्न का सामना करें, तो हमें हमेशा यह याद रखना चाहिए कि परमेश्वर की संतान के जीवन में बिना प्रभु परमेश्वर की इच्छा और अनुमति के कुछ नहीं हो सकता है; और उतना ही हो सकता है, जितने की परमेश्वर अनुमति देता है (1 कुरिन्थियों 10:13); और अन्ततः, सभी बातों के द्वारा, परमेश्वर ने कुछ भले ही की योजना बनाई है जो उसकी संतान के लाभ ही के लिए है (रोमियों 8:28)।

जब भी हम अपने जीवन और सम्बन्धित समस्याओं को लेकर परेशान हों, तो हमें हमेशा ध्यान करना चाहिए कि:

·        हमारा सृष्टिकर्ता परमेश्वर हम से बेहतर जानता है कि हमारी योग्यताएँ तथा क्षमताएँ क्या हैं; हम किसे सीमा तक बर्दाश्त कर सकते हैं, सामना कर सकते हैं। परमेश्वर हमारे जीवनों में उतनी ही सीमा तक संघर्षों और समस्याओं को आने देता है, जिस सीमा तक हम व्यक्तिगत रीति से उनका सामना कर सकते हैं।

·        हम जब भी किसी भी परिस्थिति का सामना करें, तो यह ध्यान रखें कि सफलता पूर्वक उनमें से होकर हमें निकालने के लिए परमेश्वर हमेशा हमारे साथ रहता है (निर्गमन 4:12; मत्ती 10:19-20)।

·        परमेश्वर ने अपने लोगों के चारों और एक बाड़ा बाँधा है और शैतान उसे न तो तोड़ सकता है और न उसके अन्दर जा सकता है; वह तब ही हमारी हानि कर सकता है, जब हम बाड़े से बाहर आएँ, और तब भी उतनी ही सीमा तक जितना परमेश्वर अनुमति देता है (अय्यूब 1:10; 2:6)।

·        परमेश्वर कभी भी शैतान को हम पर ऐसी कोई बात नहीं लाने देगा, जिसका सफलता पूर्वक सामना करने के लिए परमेश्वर ने हमें पहले से ही योग्य नहीं बना रखा है, और जिसके लिए उचित और उपयुक्त सामर्थ्य, योग्यता, और बुद्धिमानी प्रदान नहीं कर रखी है (दानिय्येल 3:17; 2 तिमुथियुस 4:18; 2 पतरस 2:9)।

·        अन्ततः, ये संघर्ष विभिन्न प्रकार से हमारा अभ्यास करवाने के द्वारा, हमारे लिए भलाई और आशीष ही उत्पन्न करते हैं (यिर्मयाह 29:11; 2 कुरिन्थियों 4:17; रोमियों 5:3-5; रोमियों 8:28), तथा औरों के सामने परमेश्वर की देखभाल तथा सुरक्षा का उदाहरण बनते हैं।

 

    इसलिए हमें समस्याओं और परिस्थितियों को सही रवैये के साथ स्वीकार करना सीखना चाहिए। जो भी परमेश्वर ने हमारे जीवनों में आ लेने दिया है, जो भी वह हम से करने के लिए कह रहा है, उसमें हमें हमेशा ही परमेश्वर पर भरोसा बनाए रखना चाहिए; यह जानते हुए कि उसने हमें पहले से ही उसका सामना करने के लिए उचित एवं उपयुक्त सामर्थ्य तथा आवश्यक संसाधन दे रखे हैं। ये समस्याएं और परिस्थितियाँ परमेश्वर से हमें मिलने वाले प्रतिफलों एवं महिमा तक पहुँचने के लिए हमारी सीढ़ियाँ हैं। और इन में होकर परमेश्वर न केवल हमें आशीष प्रदान करेगा, बल्कि मसीही जीवन में उन्नति करने में भी हमारी सहायता करेगा।

    परमेश्वर की विश्वासयोग्यता के पाठ परेशानियों में ही सबसे अच्छे से सीखे जाते हैं। हम मत्ती 14:24-31 में देखते हैं कि पतरस को पानी पर चलने के लिए अनुमति देने से पहले परमेश्वर ने तूफ़ान और लहरों को शांत नहीं किया। बल्कि, उसी तूफान में ही पतरस को पानी पर चलने के लिए कहा – एक असंभव प्रतीत होने वाले कार्य को करने के लिए कहा। और जब तक पतरस प्रभु को देखता रहा, उस तूफ़ान में भी पानी पर चलता रहा; वह तब ही डूबने लगा जब उसने अपनी आँखें प्रभु से हटा कर तूफ़ान पर लगाईं। लूका 19 अध्याय में, अपनी व्यक्तिगत सीमाओं के बावजूद, ज़क्कई ने ठान लिया था कि वह कैसे भी हो, प्रभु यीशु को अवश्य ही देखेगा। उसने पुरुषार्थ दिखाया, परिश्रम किया, और न केवल सफल रहा, बल्कि प्रभु द्वारा आशीष भी प्राप्त की, उसका जीवन बदल गया, और आज भी वह औरों को प्रभु की और आकर्षित करता है।

    हमें इस बात का एहसास करना चाहिए और उसे सीखना चाहिए कि परमेश्वर हमारे लिए परिस्थितियों को बदल कर उन्हें आसान और सहने योग्य नहीं कर देता है; बल्कि वह हमें बदलता है, वह हमें परिस्थितियों का सामना करने और उन पर जयवंत होने के योग्य बना देता है। यह करने के द्वारा वह हमें दिखाता है कि हम क्या कुछ करने की क्षमता रखते हैं, परमेश्वर की सहायता और मार्गदर्शन से हम कितने महान काम कर सकते हैं। बस हमें पुरुषार्थ करने और अपने मसीही विश्वास के जीवनों में जयवन्त होने के लिए परिश्रम करने वाला होना चाहिए।

Being a Man - 3

 

    In the previous article we had seen that problems and adverse situations are a part of life for the Christian Believer, and there is no escaping from them for him. We had closed the article by saying that Satan always keeps bringing trouble and problems upon Christians, not only to make life difficult for them, but to also try and cause harm to their rewards, as well as to spoil their testimony so that others may be prevented from emulating them in coming to faith in Christ Jesus and being saved. Therefore, the Christian Believers need to constantly be striving to live out their life of Faith and be manly for doing this, and to be blessed and successful from God, and to glorify God through our lives.

    But then, one is often tempted to ask, more so when in daunting circumstances, why does God allow these problems and adverse situations in a Christian Believer’s life? Why does God not keep these satanic ploys and attacks away from us? When faced with this question, we should keep in mind that nothing happens in the life of a child of God without the permission and outside the will of the Lord, and then, only to the extent He allows (1 Corinthians 10:13), and eventually through them all, God has planned something good and beneficial for His child (Romans 8:28).

    When perplexed about our life and problems, we should always keep in mind that:

• Our creator God knows better than us what our abilities and capabilities are; how much we can face and handle. God allows these struggles and problems in our lives, only to the extent that we as individuals can handle them.

• When we are facing any situations, God is always there to help us go through them (Exodus 4:12; Matthew 10:19-20).

• God has put a hedge around His people and Satan cannot breach or cross it; he can only do harm if we come out of that hedge, and to the extent that God permits him to do (Job 1:10; 2:6).

• God will never permit Satan to bring upon us anything that God has not already made us capable of tackling, and has not already given us the strength, ability, and wisdom to handle (Daniel 3:17; 2 Timothy 4:18; 2 Peter 2:9).

• Eventually, these struggles, by exercising us in various ways, serve to work for our benefit and blessings (Jeremiah 29:11; 2 Corinthians 4:17; Romans 5:3-5; Romans 8:28), and as examples of God’s care and security for others.

    Therefore, we must learn to accept and take the problems and situations with the right attitude. We must keep trusting that what God has allowed in our lives, whatever He is asking us to do, He already has made us capable of managing that situation and has provided the required resources as well. These problems and situations are our stepping stones to glory and rewards from God. And through them not only will God bless us, but will also help us grow in our Christian life.

    Lessons of God's faithfulness are learnt best when facing adversities. In Matthew 14:24-31, Lord Jesus did not calm the storm and waves before asking Peter to walk on water. Rather, He asked Peter to walk on the water - do the seemingly impossible, in that storm. And Peter, so long as he was looking at the Lord, walked on the water, in the storm; it was only when Peter started looking at the storm instead of the Lord Jesus, that he started to sink. In Luke 19 Zacchaeus despite his personal limitations decided to see Jesus any which way he could. He strove to do it like a man, and was not only successful, but was also blessed by the Lord, his life was changed, and even today he is attracting people to the Lord.

    We must realize and learn that the Lord God does not change the situations for us to make them easy and tolerable for us; instead, He changes us, He makes us capable of facing and overcoming the situations. Through this, He shows us what all we are actually capable of doing, and how great things we can accomplish through the help and guidance of God, if we are willing to be a man and strive to be victorious in our Christian lives.

    If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord, make your decision in favor of the Lord Jesus now to ensure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. Where there is obedience to the Lord, where there is respect and obedience to His Word, there is also the blessing and protection of the Lord. Repenting of your sins, and asking the Lord Jesus for forgiveness of your sins, voluntarily and sincerely, surrendering yourself to Him - is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. You only have to say a short but sincere prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ willingly and with a penitent heart, and at the same time completely commit and submit your life to Him. You can also make this prayer and submission in words something like, “Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sins and repent of them. I thank you for taking my sins upon yourself, paying for them through your life.  Because of them you died on the cross in my place, were buried, and you rose again from the grave on the third day for my salvation, and today you are the living Lord God and have freely provided to me the forgiveness, and redemption from my sins, through faith in you. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands." Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.

    पिछले लेख में हमने देखा था कि परमेश्वर द्वारा चुने और स्थापित किए गए राजाओं, दाऊद और सुलैमान के समान, मसीही विश्वासियों को भी मसीही विश्वास का जीवन जीने में परिस्थितियों और समस्याओं का सामना करना ही होगा। और इसीलिए, जैसे परमेश्वर की चुनौती सुलैमान के लिए थी, वैसे ही प्रत्येक मसीही विश्वासी के लिए भी है “इसलिये तू हियाव बांधकर पुरुषार्थ दिखा” (1 राजाओं 2:2)। लेकिन साथ ही परमेश्वर ने पहले से ही हमें एक जयवंत जीवन जीने के लिए संसाधन प्रदान कर रखे हैं; उसने हमारा सहायक होने के लिए अपना पवित्र आत्मा, और हमारा मार्गदर्शन करने के लिए अपना जीवता वचन हम मसीही विश्वासियों को दे दिया है।

    प्रत्येक मसीही विश्वासी को यह ध्यान रखना तथा स्वीकार करना है कि मसीही विश्वास का जीवन एक सक्रिय जीवन है। यह शैतान के निरंतर हमलों के विरुद्ध एक चलते रहने वाले संघर्ष का जीवन है  (प्रेरितों 14:22; 2 तीमुथियुस 3:12; फिलिप्पियों 1:29), जो हमेशा हमें किसी न किसी तरह से नीचे खींचने और गिराने में लगा रहता है।

    

    मसीही जीवन और सेवकाई का यह आधार भूत तथ्य कोई नई बात नहीं है, इसे प्रभु यीशु ने अपने आरंभिक शिष्यों को बता दिया था, जब उसने उन्हें उनकी पहली सेवकाई के लिए भेजा था, जैसा की हम मत्ती 10 अध्याय में देखते हैं। प्रभु ने उन्हें बहुत स्पष्ट यह कह दिया था कि उनकी सेवकाई सरल नहीं होगी और समस्याओं से भरी होगी। उन्हें लोगों के विरोध का सामना करना पड़ेगा, यहाँ तक कि उनके अपने परिवार के लोग भी उनका विरोध करेंगे; उन्हें बचने के लिए एक से दूसरे स्थान को भी भागना पड़ सकता है (मत्ती 10:18-23)।

इसी प्रकार से,

·        पौलुस के बारे में परमेश्वर ने हनन्याह से कहा कि उसे अपने विश्वास तथा प्रभु के नाम के लिए बहुत दुःख उठाना पड़ेगा (प्रेरितों 9:16)।

·        हम प्रेरितों के काम पुस्तक में देखते हैं कि आरंभिक शिष्यों को अपने विश्वास के लिए धार्मिक अगुवों से बहुत दुःख उठाने पड़े (प्रेरितों 4:21; 5:17-18, 40-41)।

·        इब्रानियों की पत्री, तथा पतरस द्वारा लिखी गई दोनों पत्रियाँ उन मसीही विश्वासियों को लिखी गई हैं जो अपने मसीही विश्वास के कर्ण सताव झेल रहे थे।

 

    यद्यपि शैतान यह जानता है कि एक नया-जन्म पाए हुए विश्वासी का उद्धार कभी नहीं जाएगा, किन्तु वह यह भी जानता है कि,

·        मसीही विश्वासी अपनी आशीषों और प्रतिफलों को गँवा सकते हैं, और इस प्रकार से वह उनका कुछ नुकसान तो कर ही सकता है, तथा

·        मसीही विश्वासियों के हारे हुए, दुर्बल, और भ्रष्ट जीवन एवं गवाही को सँसार के सामने दिखाने के द्वारा शैतान अन्य लोगों को मसीह यीशु में विश्वास लाने से रोक सकता है।

 

    इसीलिए मसीही विश्वासियों पर परेशानियां और दुःख लाने के लिए शैतान जो कुछ भी कर सकता है, वह करता है; जिससे कि वे निराश हों, कुछ कर पाने के लिए अपने आप को अयोग्य समझें, परमेश्वर जो उन से करवाना चाहता है वे उसे न कर सकें, और अपने प्रतिफलों तथा आशीषों को गँवा दें। और शैतान तथा उसकी युक्तियों पर जयवंत होने का एकमात्र तरीका है उसका सामना परमेश्वर की सामर्थ्य और उसके द्वारा अपने वचन में दिए गए मार्ग का पालन करना, अर्थात “इसलिये तू हियाव बांधकर पुरुषार्थ दिखा” (1 राजाओं 2:2)।

    यदि आपने प्रभु की शिष्यता को अभी तक स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी प्रभु यीशु के पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु, मैं अपने पापों के लिए पश्चातापी हूँ, उनके लिए आप से क्षमा माँगता हूँ। मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मुझे और मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी।

English Translation

Being a Man - 2

 

    In the previous article we had seen that like David, and Solomon, the God chosen and appointed Kings of Israel, the Christian Believers too will have to face situations and problems in their lives of living out their Faith. And hence God’s challenge, as to Solomon, to every Christian Believer is “be strong therefore, and be a man” (1 Kings 2:2). But God has already given us the resources to lead an overcoming life; He has given us His Holy Spirit to help, and His Living Word to guide us.

    Every Christian Believer has to realize and accept that Christian faith and living is an active faith. It is a life of constant struggle against the attacks of the devil (Acts 14:22; 2 Timothy 3:12; Philippians 1:29), who tries to pull us down, all the time, in many ways.

    This basic fact of Christian life and ministry is not something new, it was something that the Lord Jesus told the initial disciples as He sent them for their ministry, as we see in Matthew 10. The Lord very clearly told them that their ministry was not going to be easy and trouble free, rather it would be just the opposite., They will face opposition from people and even their own family members for their ministry; and they might need to flee from one city to another (Matthew 10:18-23).

Similarly,

• For Paul, God told Ananias that Paul would have to suffer many things for his faith in the Lord (Acts 9:16).
• We also see in the book of Acts that the initial disciples suffered heavily for their faith from the religious leaders (Acts 4:21; 5:17-18, 40-41).
• The letter to Hebrews and both of Peter's epistles were addressed to Christian Believers suffering for their faith.

    Though the devil knows that a Born-Again Believer will never lose his salvation; but he also knows that:

• the Believers can lose their blessings and rewards, he can still bring Believers to some loss, and

• through putting up their defeated, weak, or corrupted life and testimony before the world Satan can prevent others from coming to the Lord.

    So, Satan does whatever he can to bring trouble and problems upon the Christian Believers, to discourage them, make them feel incapable of doing things, to prevent them from fulfilling what God wants them to do, and thereby deny the Believers their eternal rewards and blessings. The only way we can overcome Satan and his ploys is through God’s strength and the way He has given in His Word, “be strong therefore, and be a man” (1 Kings 2:2).

    हमने पिछले लेख में देखा था कि दाऊद ने अपने पुत्र सुलैमान को 1 राजाओं 2:2-4 में परमेश्वर के साथ सही बने रहने, परमेश्वर द्वारा उसे दी गई ज़िम्मेदारियों को ठीक से पूरा करने, और आशीषित तथा सफल होने के लिए 4 निर्देश दिए थे। इन में से सबसे पहली बात जो दाऊद, सुलैमान से करने के लिए कहता है, वह है हिम्मत बांधकर पुरुषार्थ दिखा; अर्थात, चाहे जो भी परिस्थिति सामने क्यों न आए, हमेशा साहसी और दृढ़ होकर उसका सामना करने के लिए तैयार रहना होगा। सुलैमान को कभी इस तथ्य को नहीं भूलना था कि वह उस गद्दी पर परमेश्वर द्वारा नियुक्त किया गया है (1 राजाओं 10:9; 1 इतिहास 28:5-6; 29:1), और इसलिए वह परमेश्वर की ज़िम्मेदारी है। इसका अर्थ हुआ कि उसे कभी भी किसी भी व्यक्ति अथवा परिस्थिति से घबराना नहीं था; उसे हमेशा परमेश्वर पर अपना भरोसा बनाए रखना था कि वह सर्वदा उसके साथ है, उसकी सहायता करने, मार्गदर्शन करने, और हर परिस्थिति में सुरक्षित रखने के लिए।

    लेकिन उसके पिता, दाऊद, में होकर परमेश्वर द्वारा उसे इस निर्देश के दिए जाने का यह अभिप्राय भी था कि यद्यपि सुलैमान, जैसे दाऊद था, वैसे ही परमेश्वर द्वारा चुना गया और नियुक्त किया गया राजा था, किन्तु जैसा दाऊद के साथ हुआ था, वैसे ही सुलैमान के लिए भी जीवन कभी सहज और कोमल नहीं होगा। सुलैमान को हर प्रकार की परिस्थितियों का सामना करना पड़ेगा, और परमेश्वर द्वारा उसे दी गई ज़िम्मेदारियों के निर्वाह के लिए उसकी अच्छे से परीक्षा ली जाएगी। उस पर निश्चय ही आने वाली इन परिस्थितियों पर जयवंत होने का एक ही तरीका है कि परमेश्वर द्वारा मिली सामर्थ्य से उनका साहस और दृढ़ता से सामना किया जाए। साथ ही उनका सामना करने के लिए उसे अपने आप को उनके लिए शारीरिक, मानसिक, और आत्मिक दृष्टि से तैयार बनाए रखना था। यदि वह एक नकारात्मक अथवा हार मान लेने के दृष्टिकोण से आरम्भ करता, अपने आप को घबराया हुआ अनुभव करता; या ज़िम्मेदारियों के प्रति एक लापरवाही का, बात को यूँ ही हलके में लेने का रवैया रखता, तो फिर वह कभी कुछ नहीं करने पाता।

    इसी प्रकार से, परमेश्वर की संतानों के, मसीही विश्वास के जीवन को जीने, उसमें बढ़ते तथा परिपक्व होते जाने के लिए, यह मान कर चलना चाहिए कि हम परमेश्वर की सामर्थ्य से सब कुछ कर सकते हैं (फिलिप्पियों 4:13)। उनमें न केवल हर प्रकार की परिस्थितियों और समस्याओं के विषय एक पहले से सोचने की प्रवृत्ति और साहस के साथ उनका सामना करने की इच्छा होनी चाहिए, वरन उनके लिए तैयार भी रहना चाहिए और सामने आने वाली सभी संभावनाओं में कड़ा परिश्रम करने से भी नहीं घबराना चाहिए। अपने बच्चों की सहायता करने के लिए, जिससे कि वे परिस्थितियों के बारे में विचार कर के तैयार हो सकें, और उनका सामना करने के लिए तैयार हो सकें, परमेश्वर ने अपने प्रत्येक नया-जन्म पाए हुए विश्वासी को अपना पवित्र आत्मा दिया है (यूहन्ना 14:16, 17, 26)। कुछ डिनौमिनेशंस के द्वारा प्रचार किए और सिखाए गए बाइबल के प्रतिकूल प्रचार तथा शिक्षाओं के विप्रीत, बाइबल के अनुसार, परमेश्वर पवित्र आत्मा स्वतः ही प्रत्येक मसीही विश्वासी में, उसके प्रभु में विश्वास करने और उद्धार पाने के समय, उसी पल से ही, तुरंत ही आ जाता है (इफिसियों 1:13-14)।

    मसीही विश्वास का जीवन आराम से बैठकर बातों को यूँ ही हलके में लेने का जीवन नहीं है। प्रभु यीशु में विश्वास में आने के द्वारा नया जन्म पाना या उद्धार पाना, प्रक्रिया का पूरा होना नहीं है, बल्कि एक आरम्भ है, नए जीवन में उठाया गया पहला कदम ही है। इस नए जीवन में सभी पुरानी बातों को बदलना होगा, नई बातों को सीखना तथा उनके अनुसार जीवन जीना और उनका पालन करना सीखना होगा। यह स्वयं की संतुष्टि के लिए अपनी इच्छाओं के अनुसार जिया गया जीवन नहीं होता है, बल्कि प्रभु यीशु के लिए जिया जाने वाला जीवन होता है (2 कुरिन्थियों 5:15, 17)। मसीही विश्वास के जीवन में इस प्रकार की बढ़ोतरी और परिपक्वता की आवश्यकता की पुष्टि बाइबल के हवालों से हो जाती है, जैसे कि, 1 कुरिन्थियों 3:1-3, इब्रानियों 5:12, इफिसियों 4:13-15, 1 पतरस 2:1-2, आदि। परमेश्वर की संतान को केवल शारीरिक ही नहीं, बल्कि आत्मिक रीति से भी बढ़ते जाना है।

    बहुत से लोग, चाहे मसीही विश्वासी हों या न हों, हर बात के लिए कुड़कुड़ाने और हारा हुआ होने का रवैया रखते हैं। वे हमेशा अभिभूत रहते हैं, उनके जीवनों में होने वाली हर बात के लिए शिकायत करते हैं, बड़बड़ाते रहते हैं, और कभी कुछ नहीं करने पाते हैं। जब हम परमेश्वर पर पूरा भरोसा करना सीखते हैं, तब ही हम यह विश्वास कर सकते हैं कि परमेश्वर हमें सभी परिस्थितियों में से निकालता हुआ सभी बातों को पूरा भी करवाएगा (2 कुरिन्थियों 12:9)। और तब हम एक जयवंत तथा हासिल कर लेने वाला जीवन जीने पाएँगे, परमेश्वर की आशीषें हमारे साथ होंगी, और परमेश्वर जो ज़िम्मेदारियाँ हमें देता है, जिनके लिए उसने हमें अपनी सामर्थ्य दी है, उन्हें पूरा करने पाएंगे।

English Translation

Being a Man - 1

 

    We have seen in the previous article that David gave his son Solomon 4 instructions in 1 Kings 2:2-4 to stay right with God, properly fulfill his God given responsibilities, and be blessed and successful. The very first thing that David instructs Solomon to do is to be a man, i.e., always be strong and courageous to face whatever may come his way. Solomon was never to ignore or forget the fact that he was God's chosen appointee to the post (1 Kings 10:9; 1 Chronicles 28:5-6; 29:1); therefore, he was God’s responsibility. This meant that he was never to be daunted by anyone or anything; he had always to be trusting that God is always with him to help, guide and keep him safe in all situations, and from everyone.

    But God instructing him through his father, David, was also indirectly telling Solomon that though he was a God chosen and appointed King, like David was, still as had been for David, life would never be easy and soft for him. Solomon will have to face all kinds of situations and will be tested thoroughly in fulfilling his God given responsibilities. The only way to overcome the situations that surely will come his way was to not only be willing to face them bravely in God’s strength, but also under God’s guidance, to keep preparing himself, physically, mentally, as well as spiritually for them. If he were to start with a negative or a defeatist mentality, feeling overwhelmed; or if he had a casual and uncaring attitude towards his responsibilities, a tendency of taking things lightly, then he would never be able to accomplish anything.

    Similarly, God’s children, for living the Christian life and faith, growing and maturing in it, should always believe that we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us (Philippians 4:13). This also requires not only an anticipation and willingness to face all kinds of situations and problems bravely, but also a preparation for them, and resolute laboring to be ready for the various possibilities that may occur. For helping His children anticipate, prepare, and be ready for the situations, God has given His Holy Spirit to every Born-Again Christian Believer (John 14:16, 17, 26). Quite unlike the unBiblical doctrine preached and taught by some denominations, Biblically speaking, God the Holy Spirit spontaneously comes to reside in the Christian Believer from the very moment of his believing in the Lord and being saved (Ephesians 1:13-14).

    Christian life and living is not a life of sitting back and taking things easy. Being Born-Again or saved by coming into faith in the Lord Jesus, is not the completion, but only the first step into a new life. In this new life, all the old things have to change, new things have to be learnt, lived, and followed. It has to be a life lived not for self or self-gratification, but for the Lord Jesus (2 Corinthians 5:15, 17). Biblical passages, e.g., 1 Corinthians 3:1-3, Hebrews 5:12, Ephesians 4:13-15, 1 Peter 2:1-2 allude to this growth and maturity that is expected in a Christian Believer’s life after coming into faith. A child of God has to not only grow physically, but spiritually as well.

    Many people, whether Believers or not, live with a grumbling and defeatist attitude about everything. They are always overwhelmed, complaining, and grumbling about anything and everything in their lives, and they never can achieve anything. It is only when we learn to trust God for everything, that we can believe that God will help us go through everything and accomplish everything (2 Corinthians 12:9). And then we can live an overcoming and achieving life, have the blessings of God and be successful in accomplishing all that God wants us to do, and has empowered us for.

    If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord, make your decision in favor of the Lord Jesus now to ensure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. Where there is obedience to the Lord, where there is respect and obedience to His Word, there is also the blessing and protection of the Lord. Repenting of your sins, and asking the Lord Jesus for forgiveness of your sins, voluntarily and sincerely, surrendering yourself to Him - is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. You only have to say a short but sincere prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ willingly and with a penitent heart, and at the same time completely commit and submit your life to Him. You can also make this prayer and submission in words something like, “Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sins and repent of them. I thank you for taking my sins upon yourself, paying for them through your life.  Because of them you died on the cross in my place, were buried, and you rose again from the grave on the third day for my salvation, and today you are the living Lord God and have freely provided to me the forgiveness, and redemption from my sins, through faith in you. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands." Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.
