पाप का समाधान - उद्धार - पुनःअवलोकन
पिछले तीन सप्ताह से हम मनुष्य के पाप के समाधान और निवारण, और इस कार्य में प्रभु यीशु मसीह की भूमिका के विषय में देखते और सीखते हुए आ रहे हैं। अब हम इस विषय का निष्कर्ष, प्रभु यीशु मसीह ने यह कार्य किस प्रकार किया को देखना आरंभ करेंगे। अभी तक जो हमने देखा है, आज उसका एक संक्षिप्त पुनः अवलोकन कर लेते हैं; कल प्रभु के द्वारा मनुष्यों के उद्धार के लिए किए गए कार्य को परमेश्वर के वचन बाइबल के पदों के साथ देखेंगे और समझेंगे।
अभी तक के विवरण का सार इस प्रकार से है:
हमने परमेश्वर के वचन बाइबल की पहली पुस्तक के आरंभिक तीन अध्यायों में से देखा है कि परमेश्वर ने मनुष्य को अपने ही स्वरूप में सृजा और अपनी ही श्वास से उसे जीवन प्रदान किया। उसके सृजे जाने के समय मनुष्य निष्पाप, निष्कलंक, निर्दोष, और पवित्र था। उन प्रथम मनुष्यों, आदम और हव्वा, के लिए परमेश्वर ने एक आशीष का स्थान - अदन की वाटिका को लगा कर दिया था, जहाँ पर परमेश्वर उनसे संगति रखता था, उनसे मिला करता था। परमेश्वर ने केवल एक को छोड़, अदन की वाटिका के अन्य सभी फलों को मनुष्य के खाने के लिए उपलब्ध करवाया था; और मनुष्य को चेतावनी दी थी कि जिस दिन उसने वह वर्जित फल खाया, उसी दिन उसकी मृत्यु हो जाएगी। किन्तु शैतान के बहकावे में आकर मनुष्य ने परमेश्वर की बात पर, और उनके प्रति परमेश्वर की भली मनसा पर संदेह किया, परमेश्वर की अनाज्ञाकारिता की, और उस वर्जित फल को खा लिया। इसी अनाज्ञाकारिता के कारण पाप का संसार में प्रवेश हुआ, जिसका दुष्प्रभाव सारी सृष्टि में फैल गया और मनुष्य में पाप करने की प्रवृत्ति आ गई, और फिर वंशागत रीति से एक से दूसरी पीढ़ी में चलती चली गई। परिणाम स्वरूप, स्वाभाविक रीति से गर्भ में आने और जन्म लेने वाले प्रत्येक मनुष्य में पाप का दोष और पाप करने की प्रवृत्ति उसके गर्भ में आने, जन्म लेने से लेकर मृत्यु तक बनी रहती है।
मृत्यु का अर्थ है एक अपरिवर्तनीय पृथक हो जाना, ऐसा जिसे कोई भी मनुष्य अपने किसी भी प्रयास से पलट कर पहले की स्थिति को बहाल नहीं कर सकता है। मृत्यु दो प्रकार की है - आत्मिक और शारीरिक। आत्मिक मृत्यु अर्थात पाप के कारण परमेश्वर से अलग हो जाना, क्योंकि परमेश्वर पाप के साथ समझौता और संगति नहीं कर सकता है - जिस दिन मनुष्य ने पाप किया, उसी दिन वह परमेश्वर की संगति से पृथक हो गया। शारीरिक मृत्यु, अर्थात शरीर का क्षय होते चले जाना, और अंततः वापस मिट्टी में मिल जाना - यह प्रक्रिया भी पाप करते ही मनुष्य में आरंभ हो गई, और अंततः सभी मनुष्य देर-सवेर मर जाते हैं, अर्थात शरीर और आत्मा अपरिवर्तनीय रीति से पृथक हो जाते हैं, शरीर नाश हो जाता है, आत्मा अनन्त काल के परिणाम भोगने चली जाती है। मनुष्य के जन्म लेते ही उसकी शारीरिक मृत्यु की ओर निरंतर बढ़ते जाने की प्रक्रिया आरंभ हो जाती है; तथा वह जन्म से ही पाप के प्रभाव के अंतर्गत होने के कारण परमेश्वर से पृथक, अर्थात आत्मिक मृत्यु की दशा में होता है।
मनुष्य के पाप ने परमेश्वर को एक असंभव प्रतीत होने वाली विडंबना में डाल दिया। मनुष्य के प्रति उसका प्रेम, उसे मनुष्य को नाश होते हुए नहीं देखने देता; और परमेश्वर का निष्पक्ष न्यायी और धर्मी होना, उसे पाप को दण्ड दिए बिना नहीं छोड़ने देता। परमेश्वर कभी झूठ नहीं बोलता, उसकी कही बात सदा पूरी होती है, इसलिए पाप का दण्ड, मृत्यु, को भी पापी पर लागू किया जाना अनिवार्य था। अब इस विडंबना, इस असंभव प्रतीत होने वाली स्थिति का समाधान और निवारण क्या हो सकता था। जो मनुष्य के लिए असंभव था, परमेश्वर ने ही उसके लिए मार्ग बनाया। एक ऐसा मनुष्य जो निष्पाप, निष्कलंक, निर्दोष, पवित्र, परमेश्वर तथा उसके प्रति परमेश्वर की योजनाओं पर कभी संदेह न करने वाला, परमेश्वर का पूर्ण आज्ञाकारी हो, उसे पाप का दण्ड, परमेश्वर से दूरी और मृत्यु - आत्मिक एवं शारीरिक सहने की कोई आवश्यकता नहीं थी, चाहिए था। यह सिद्ध मनुष्य यदि स्वेच्छा से मनुष्यों के पापों को अपने ऊपर लेकर, उनके स्थान पर स्वयं उन पापों का दण्ड अर्थात मृत्यु को सह ले, और मृत्यु को पराजित कर के वापस सदेह जीवित हो उठे, और फिर अपने इस बलिदान तथा पुनरुत्थान के लाभ को सेंत-मेंत सभी मनुष्यों को उपलब्ध करवा दे, तो इस समस्या का समाधान और निवारण हो जाएगा। परमेश्वर की बात भी पूरी हो जाएगी, उसके न्याय के माँग भी पूरी हो जाएगी, मृत्यु का प्रभाव भी जाता रहेगा, और फिर पापों के परिणाम से बचाया गया मनुष्य परमेश्वर की संगति में भी बहाल हो सकता है।
किन्तु मनुष्य तो पाप के दोष और पाप करने की प्रवृत्ति में आ चुका था, स्वाभाविक रीति से जन्म लेने वाला हर मनुष्य पाप के दोष और प्रवृत्ति के साथ ही जन्म लेता। इसलिए वह तो कभी निष्पाप, निष्कलंक, और निर्दोष हो नहीं सकता था। इसलिए इस समाधान और निवारण को कार्यान्वित करने के लिए एक ऐसे मनुष्य की आवश्यकता थी जिसमें पाप का दोष और प्रवृत्ति भी न हो, और वह उपरोक्त सभी आवश्यकताओं को भी पूरा करता हो। इसलिए परमेश्वर स्वयं एक विशिष्ट रीति से मनुष्य बनकर, प्रभु यीशु मसीह के नाम से संसार में आ गया। परमेश्वर पवित्र आत्मा की सामर्थ्य से प्रभु यीशु ने संसार में एक विशेष रीति से तैयार की गई देह में होकर, जो इस कार्य के लिए समर्पित और आज्ञाकारी कुँवारी, मरियम की कोख में एक भ्रूण के समान रखी गई थी, प्रवेश किया। एक सामान्य मनुष्य के समान वह देह, भ्रूण से लेकर मानव शिशु स्वरूप तक, उस कोख में विकसित हुई, और उसने जन्म लेने के सारे अनुभव, अन्य किसी भी मनुष्य के समान सहे। फिर एक सामान्य, साधारण मनुष्य के समान दुख-सुख सभी कुछ अनुभव करते हुए प्रभु यीशु शिशु अवस्था से वयस्क हुए, किन्तु उन्होंने कभी भी मन-ध्यान-विचार और व्यवहार में कोई पाप नहीं किया। लगभग तीस वर्ष की आयु में उन्होंने पृथ्वी की अपनी निर्धारित सेवकाई आरंभ की; लोगों को परमेश्वर के राज्य के आगमन के बारे में सिखाने और सचेत करने, तथा पापों से पश्चाताप करने का आह्वान किया, और सभी की भलाई करते रहे।
लगभग साढ़े तीन वर्ष की सेवकाई के बाद, उन्हें तब के धर्म के अगुवों ने उनकी स्पष्टवादिता, खराई, और उन धर्म के अगुवों के दोगलेपन को प्रकट करते रहने के कारण उनके प्रति द्वेष और बैर के कारण पकड़ कर उस समय की सबसे क्रूर, पीड़ादायक और वीभत्स मृत्यु, जो समाज के सबसे निकृष्ट और जघन्य अपराध करने वालों को दी जाती थी - क्रूस की मृत्यु, उस समय के उनके शासक, रोमी गवर्नर, के हाथों दिलवाई। प्रभु यीशु मसीह क्रूस पर मारे गए, उन्हें कब्र में कफन में लपेट कर दफनाया गया, और कब्र के मुँह पर पत्थर लगा कर उसे मोहर-बंद कर दिया गया, और आधिकारिक सुरक्षा-कर्मी वहां तैनात कर दिए गए जिससे कोई उनकी देह को चुरा न सके। किन्तु तीसरे दिन वे अपने कहे के अनुसार जीवित हो उठे, सार्वजनिक रीति से लोगों से मिलते रहे, दिखाई देते रहे, लोगों से बात करते रहे, उन्हें सिखाते-समझाते रहे, और फिर अपने शिष्यों की आँखों के सामने स्वर्ग पर उठा लिए गए। अपने स्वर्गारोहण से पहले उन्होंने अपने शिष्यों को आज्ञा दी कि वे सारे संसार में जाकर उनके द्वारा समस्त संसार के सभी लोगों के लिए उपलब्ध करवाए गए पापों की क्षमा और उद्धार के मार्ग के बारे में उन्हें बताऐं और उन्हें प्रभु यीशु के शिष्य बनाएं, प्रभु की बातें सिखाएं। जो स्वेच्छा से प्रभु के द्वारा किए गए कार्य को स्वीकार करेगा, अपने पापों से पश्चाताप करेगा, और अपना जीवन प्रभु यीशु को समर्पित करेगा, वह पापों की क्षमा अर्थात उद्धार या नया जन्म पाकर अनन्तकाल के लिए परमेश्वर की संतान, उसके राज्य का वारिस बन जाएगा, और परमेश्वर की संगति में बहाल हो जाएगा।
प्रभु यीशु ने न तो कभी कोई धर्म दिया, न किसी धर्म को बनाने की शिक्षा अथवा आज्ञा दी, न किसी धर्म-विशेष को मानने-मनवाने, और न ही किसी का भी धर्म परिवर्तन करने की कोई बात अपने शिष्यों से कही। उन्होंने तो सभी मनुष्यों के पाप की प्रवृत्ति और दोष से मन परिवर्तन करने और पाप से क्षमा प्राप्त करने, तथा उनकी शिष्यता एवं आज्ञाकारिता में पापी मनुष्यों को पवित्र जीवन जीने के लिए सक्षम करे जाने की शिक्षा लोगों को बताने, और इसे स्वीकार करने का निर्णय उन लोगों के हाथों में ही छोड़ देने की आज्ञा दी।
प्रभु यीशु ने तो अपना काम कर के दे दिया है; किन्तु क्या आपने उसके इस आपकी ओर बढ़े हुए प्रेम और अनुग्रह के हाथ को थाम लिया है, उसकी भेंट को स्वीकार कर लिया है? या आप अभी भी अपने ही प्रयासों के द्वारा वह करना चाह रहे हैं जो मनुष्यों के लिए कर पाना असंभव है। यदि अभी भी आपने प्रभु यीशु के बलिदान के कार्य को स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अभी समय और अवसर के रहते स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से अपने पापों से पश्चाताप कर लें, अपना जीवन उसे समर्पित कर के, उसके शिष्य बन जाएं। स्वेच्छा से, सच्चे और पूर्णतः समर्पित मन से, अपने पापों के प्रति सच्चे पश्चाताप के साथ एक छोटी प्रार्थना, “हे प्रभु यीशु मैं मान लेता हूँ कि मैंने जाने-अनजाने में, मन-ध्यान-विचार और व्यवहार में आपकी अनाज्ञाकारिता की है, पाप किए हैं। मैं मान लेता हूँ कि आपने क्रूस पर दिए गए अपने बलिदान के द्वारा मेरे पापों के दण्ड को अपने ऊपर लेकर पूर्णतः सह लिया, उन पापों की पूरी-पूरी कीमत सदा काल के लिए चुका दी है। कृपया मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मेरे मन को अपनी ओर परिवर्तित करें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें, अपने साथ कर लें।” आपका सच्चे मन से लिया गया मन परिवर्तन का यह निर्णय आपके इस जीवन तथा परलोक के जीवन को स्वर्गीय जीवन बना देगा।

The Solution for Sin - Salvation - A Review
For the past three weeks we have been looking at the various aspects of sin, its atonement and solution, and the role of the Lord Jesus Christ for this. Now we will begin looking at the conclusion of this subject, how the Lord Jesus accomplished this. Today we will review what we have considered so far; from tomorrow, through the relevant Bible verses, we will look into and understand what the Lord has done.
The summary of all that we have considered so far is as follows:
We have seen from the first three chapters of the first book of the Bible that God created man in His own image and Himself breathed life into him. At the time of his creation man was without sin, spotless, free of any guilt, and holy. For those first human beings, Adam and Eve, God also made and planted the Garden of Eden - a place of blessing, where God used to come for fellowship with man. Except for the fruit of one tree, God had given the fruits of every other tree of the garden as food for man. God had warned man that if he eats the forbidden fruit, he will die. But being beguiled by Satan, man doubted God’s well-intentioned instructions for him and disobeyed God, and ate the forbidden fruit. Because of this disobedience sin entered the world, its deleterious effects spread throughout the creation, and the tendency to sin came into man, and became hereditary, getting passed on from one generation to another. Consequently, every person being conceived in the natural manner, is conceived with the sin nature and tendency to sin; i.e., since coming into the womb, from birth every human being is in a state of death, dying off day-by-day, till eventually he dies off.
Death means a humanly irreversible state of separation, that no man can overturn and revert back to the previous condition. Death is of two kinds - spiritual and physical. Spiritual death is man’s separation from the fellowship of God because of sin, since God cannot compromise with or fellowship with sin - the day man sinned, he became separated from fellowship with God, died spiritually. Physical death, i.e., gradually decaying away, and eventually turning back to dust - this process too started with the sin, and eventually all humans die off; i.e. the body and the soul irreversibly separate, the body decays to dust, and the soul goes to bear the eternal consequences of man's life. Man begins to physically die the moment he is born, and since the moment of his birth he is also in the state of being spiritually dead, i.e., alienated from fellowship with God.
The sin of man put God in a seemingly impossible situation, a very serious dilemma. God’s love for man did not want to see him die and perish in sin; and God being an impartial, righteous judge, He could not ignore sin and let it go unpunished. Also, God never tells a lie, what He say, is always fulfilled; therefore, the death penalty had to be carried out on the sinful man. Now, what could be the solution to this seemingly impossible imbroglio, this dilemma before God? What is impossible for man, is possible for God; and God provided the way out of this seeming impossibility. A sinless, blameless, guiltless, holy man was required, who would be fully obedient to God’s instructions, without doubting in any manner God’s intentions and instructions for him; such a man would need to suffer death, i.e., the spiritual and physical separation from God. If this perfect man would voluntarily be willing to take upon himself the sins of entire mankind, and suffer death for them, then be victorious over death and be resurrected from the dead in his physical body, and willingly freely share the benefits of his sacrifice and resurrection with mankind, the problem will be solved. What God has said will be fulfilled, the demand of His justice will be met, the hold of death will be annulled from mankind, and then the man so saved form the consequences of sin would be brought back into the fellowship with God.
But man had already come under the guilt of sin, having a sin nature and tendency to sin since the time of being conceived; and since every person born in the natural manner of men is born with this sin nature and its effects, therefore, no man could be sinless, spotless, guiltless, pure and holy, to carry out this solution. Hence, to carry out this solution, a pure, holy, and perfect man without the sin nature and tendency was required, who would be willing and able to fulfill all the aforementioned conditions. Therefore, God, in a special way, came down to earth and was born as a man, the Lord Jesus Christ. Through the power of the Holy Spirit, God came into the world in a specially created body, which was placed in the womb of the obedient and submissive virgin, Mary, developed and grew inside her like any human embryo, and was born in the natural manner of men in that body, without a sin nature, without the tendency to sin, but passing through all the same situations and experiences as every other human being does since conception. After birth too, he lived like and experienced everything that an average common person does. But in all of this, never ever, in His mind, thoughts or behavior did He sin in any manner. He began His ministry at around 30 years of age, He warned and taught the people about the soon to come kingdom of God, called them all to repentance for their sins, and went about doing good to all.
After about three and a half years of His ministry on earth, because of His being honest and forthright in His teachings, and since He kept exposing the hypocrisy of the religious leaders of His time, those religious leaders filled with jealousy because of His popularity, and with rage because of His being forthright against them, acted in enmity against Him, and had Him caught. They then compelled the then Roman Governor to have Him executed in the most cruel, painful, and terrible manner, by crucifixion - which at that time was the method of inflicting the death penalty upon the worst of the criminals. The Lord Jesus Christ died on the cross, His body was wrapped in linen cloth along with a hundred pounds of burial material, placed in a tomb, which was closed by rolling a huge stone on its mouth and sealing it, and official guards were placed to prevent anyone from stealing the body. But, on the third day, as He had said, He rose up from the dead, walked out of the grave, and for the next forty days kept on appearing before people and meeting them. He proved to them His resurrection, explained and taught His disciples about their coming responsibility and ministry, and was then lifted to heaven in front of their eyes. Before His ascension to heaven, He instructed His disciples to go into the world and tell everybody about the way of forgiveness of sins and salvation, prepared and made freely available by Him for the entire mankind, ask them to become disciples of Christ Jesus and teach them all the things He had taught them. Whosoever will voluntarily accept the work done by the Lord Jesus Christ, repent of sins, submit his life to the Lord Jesus, he will receive the forgiveness of sins and salvation, i.e., will be Born-Again to become a child of God for eternity, will become a heir of God, will be restored back into God’s fellowship.
The Lord Jesus never propounded any religion, nor ever gave any instructions for a religion to be made and preached in His name, nor ever asked for anyone to practice a particular religion, or to convert people into followers of a particular religion. He only asked for the good news of the way for forgiveness of sins and restoration into the fellowship of God for everyone, through faith in Him to be preached; the message of change of heart and discipleship of the Lord. He only asked that people be told that it is now possible for them to lead a life of obedience to God, through the ability He provides; and of sinful man being accepted as pure and holy by God, when they come to God through Him. To accept or reject His invitation, this decision He has left for every man to take for himself.
The Lord Jesus has done His part; He has made ready and available salvation with all the benefits freely to everyone; but have you accepted His offer? Have you taken His hand of love and grace extended towards you and the free gift He offers; or are you still determined to do that which no man can ever accomplish through his own efforts?
If you are still not Born Again, have not obtained salvation, have not asked the Lord Jesus for forgiveness for your sins, then you have the opportunity to do so right now. A short prayer said voluntarily with a sincere heart, with heart-felt repentance for your sins, and a fully submissive attitude, “Lord Jesus, I confess that I have disobeyed You, and have knowingly or unknowingly, in mind, in thought, in attitude, and in deeds, committed sins. I believe that you have fully borne the punishment of my sins by your sacrifice on the cross, and have paid the full price of those sins for all eternity. Please forgive my sins, change my heart and mind towards you, and make me your disciple, take me with you." God longs for your company, wants to see you blessed; but to make this possible, is your personal decision. Will you not say this prayer now, while you have the time and opportunity to do so - the decision is yours.
