प्रभु यीशु का पुनरुत्थान – परमेश्वर की सामर्थ्य

 

हम इब्रानियों 6:1-2 में दी गई छः आरम्भिक बातों में से पाँचवीं, “मरे हुओं में से जी उठने” के बारे में सीख रहे हैं। हम देख चुके हैं कि क्योंकि प्रभु यीशु मृतकों में से जी उठा है, इस लिए उस के पुनरुत्थान ने वास्तविकता में नया-जन्म पाए हुए प्रत्येक मसीही विश्वासी को यह आश्वासन प्रदान किया है कि वह भी मृतकों में से जी उठेगा, और सदा काल के लिए प्रभु परमेश्वर के साथ स्वर्ग में रहेगा। प्रभु के, और मसीही विश्वासी के पुनरुत्थान और अनन्तकालीन आशीषों के बारे में लोगों के मनों में सन्देह उत्पन्न करने के लिए, और उन्हें बहकाने-भरमाने के लिए, शैतान ने पुनरुत्थान के विरुद्ध बहुत सी झूठी कहानियाँ बना कर फैला रखीं है। इस लिए, प्रत्येक मसीही विश्वासी के लिए यह आवश्यक है कि वह न केवल प्रभु के पुनरुत्थान, बल्कि अपने अनन्त भविष्य के बारे में भी सीखे; और साथ ही प्रभु के तथा मसीही विश्वासियों के जिलाए जाने के बारे में शैतान द्वारा फैलाई गई झूठी बातों का भी खण्डन कर सके। हम प्रभु के पुनरुत्थान के बारे में तीन शीर्षकों के अन्तर्गत देख रहे हैं: पवित्र शास्त्र में उस की भविष्यवाणी की गई है; यह एक प्रमाणित घटना है; यह परमेश्वर की सामर्थ्य है। हम इन तीन में से पहले दो शीर्षकों के बारे में देख चुके हैं। आज हम तीसरे शीर्षक, प्रभु यीशु का पुनरुत्थान प्रत्येक मसीही विश्वासी के जीवन में परमेश्वर की सामर्थ्य है, के बारे में देखेंगे।

पौलुस ने फिलिप्पी में स्थित कलीसिया को लिखी अपनी पत्री में लिखा, “और मैं उसको और उसके मृत्युंजय की सामर्थ्य को, और उसके साथ दुखों में सहभागी होने के मर्म को जानूँ, और उस की मृत्यु की समानता को प्राप्त करूं। ताकि मैं किसी भी रीति से मरे हुओं में से जी उठने के पद तक पहुंचूं” (फिलिप्पियों 3:10-11); वह मसीह के पुनरुत्थान की सामर्थ्य को जानना और उस पद तक पहुंचना चाहता था। शैतान, अदन की वाटिका में, आदम और हव्वा को पाप करने के लिए फुसलाने के द्वारा, उन के जीवनों में, तथा उन में होकर समस्त मानवजाति में मृत्यु को ले आया “इसलिये जैसा एक मनुष्य के द्वारा पाप जगत में आया, और पाप के द्वारा मृत्यु आई, और इस रीति से मृत्यु सब मनुष्यों में फैल गई, इसलिये कि सब ने पाप किया” (रोमियों 5:12)। यह मृत्यु, अर्थात बिगाड़ना या सड़ना और फिर नष्ट हो जाना, सम्पूर्ण सृष्टि पर भी आ गई; सृष्टि भी बिगड़ने, सड़ने, और नष्ट हो जाने की प्रक्रिया में आ गई। परन्तु एक बार जब “परमेश्वर के पुत्र” प्रकट हो जाएँगे, अर्थात वे जो प्रभु यीशु में विश्वास लाने के द्वारा परमेश्वर की सन्तान बन गए हैं (यूहन्ना 1:12-13), तब फिर उन के साथ ही, सृष्टि भी उसे भी प्रभावित करने वाली इस मृत्यु से छुड़ा ली जाएगी (रोमियों 8:19-22)। प्रभु यीशु का पुनरुत्थान यह दिखाता है कि मृत्यु की यह परमेश्वर की सृष्टि को सड़ाने, बिगाड़ने, और नष्ट करने वाली सामर्थ्य का अन्त कर दिया गया है। प्रभु यीशु को जिला उठाने वाली परमेश्वर की सामर्थ्य के द्वारा, जैसे ही मसीही विश्वासी मरे हुओं में से जिलाए जाएंगे, और अपनी महिमित देह में आ जाएँगे, उसी पल से मृत्यु और नष्ट करने की सामर्थ्य समाप्त हो जाएगी। प्रभु यीशु मसीह, और उस में किये गए विश्वास के द्वारा, मसीही विश्वासी विजयी होंगे। क्योंकि प्रभु यीशु के पुनरुत्थान के द्वारा मसीही विश्वासियों को यह होने का निश्चय है, इसलिए उन्हें निरन्तर प्रभु के काम में लगे रहना चाहिए (1 कुरिन्थियों 15:52-58)।

दूसरे, अपने पुनरुत्थान के द्वारा प्रभु यीशु मसीह ने अपने अनुयायियों के लिए मृत्यु के भय और पकड़ को तोड़ डाला है, “इसलिये जब कि लड़के मांस और लहू के भागी हैं, तो वह आप भी उन के समान उन का सहभागी हो गया; ताकि मृत्यु के द्वारा उसे जिसे मृत्यु पर शक्ति मिली थी, अर्थात शैतान को निकम्मा कर दे। और जितने मृत्यु के भय के मारे जीवन भर दासत्व में फंसे थे, उन्हें छुड़ा ले” (इब्रानियों 2:14-15)। अब, इस के बाद से मृत्यु डरने की कोई बात नहीं रह गई है, क्योंकि प्रत्येक मसीही विश्वासी, प्रत्येक नया-जन्म पाए हुए विश्वासी के लिए, मृत्यु एक द्वार है जो उसे अनन्तकाल के परम आनन्द और आशीषों के स्थान, परमेश्वर के साथ स्वर्ग में रहने के लिए प्रवेश प्रदान करता है। पौलुस ने कहा, “क्योंकि मेरे लिये जीवित रहना मसीह है, और मर जाना लाभ है। पर यदि शरीर में जीवित रहना ही मेरे काम के लिये लाभदायक है तो मैं नहीं जानता, कि किस को चुनूं। क्योंकि मैं दोनों के बीच अधर में लटका हूं; जी तो चाहता है कि कूच कर के मसीह के पास जा रहूं, क्योंकि यह बहुत ही अच्छा है” (फिलिप्पियों 1:21-23); और जैसा उसने कुरिन्थुस की कलीसिया को लिखा, कि वह अपने शरीर को छोड़ कर प्रभु के पास उपस्थित होने को अधिक उत्तम समझता है “सो हम सदा ढाढ़स बान्धे रहते हैं और यह जानते हैं; कि जब तक हम देह में रहते हैं, तब तक प्रभु से अलग हैं। क्योंकि हम रूप को देखकर नहीं, पर विश्वास से चलते हैं। इसलिये हम ढाढ़स बान्धे रहते हैं, और देह से अलग हो कर प्रभु के साथ रहना और भी उत्तम समझते हैं” (2 कुरिन्थियों 5:6-8)।

प्रभु यीशु की मृत्यु और पुनरुत्थान ने उस के प्रत्येक शिष्य के लिए यह सुनिश्चित कर दिया है कि अब मृत्यु उन के लिए डरने की बात नहीं है, वरन ऐसी बात है जिस की प्रतीक्षा रहती है। अब शैतान मृत्यु का डर दिखा कर उन्हें उन के मसीही जीवनों में घबरा और गिरा नहीं सकता है। सिवाए बाइबल के अनुसार के मसीही विश्वास के, यह आश्वासन, और किसी को कहीं भी उपलब्ध नहीं है, किसी भी अन्य विश्वास पद्धति, या मान्यता, या धर्म में नहीं, ईसाई या मसीही धर्म में भी नहीं। यह एक ऐसी बात है जो केवल मसीह यीशु में विश्वास करने के द्वारा मिलने वाली पापों की क्षमा और प्रभु को समर्पित जीवन जीने, उस के तथा उस के वचन, बाइबल, के आज्ञाकारी होने के द्वारा परमेश्वर के साथ अनन्त जीवन के आश्वासन के साथ ही आती है।

अगले लेख में हम प्रभु यीशु के पुनरुत्थान के व्यावहारिक अभिप्रायों को देखेंगे।

Resurrection of the Dead – 7

Lord Jesus’s Resurrection – God’s Power

 

We are learning about “Resurrection of the Dead,” the fifth of the six elementary principles given in Hebrews 6:1-2. We have seen that since the Lord Jesus Christ has risen from the dead, therefore, His resurrection has provided every truly Born-Again Christian Believer the assurance that he too will be resurrected from the dead, and will be with the Lord God forever in heaven. To create doubts in the hearts of people about the Lord’s and the Christian Believer’s resurrection and eternal blessings, and to mislead them, Satan has spread many false stories against resurrection. Therefore, it is necessary for every Christian Believer to learn not only about the Lord Jesus’s resurrection, but also about their own eternal future; and also, be prepared to counter the false stories spread by Satan against the Lord’s and the Believer’s resurrection. We are studying about the Lord’s resurrection under three headings: it is prophesied in the Scriptures; it is a proven event; it is the power of God. We have seen the first two of these three headings. Today we will consider the third heading, that the resurrection of the Lord Jesus is the power of God in the life of every truly Born-Again Christian Believer.

Paul says in his letter to the Philippians - “that I may know Him [Lord Jesus] and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death, if, by any means, I may attain to the resurrection from the dead” (Philippians 3:10-11); he wanted to know and attain to the power of Christ's Resurrection. Through enticing Adam and Eve to sin in the Garden of Eden, Satan brought in death into their lives, and through them into all of mankind “Therefore, just as through one man sin entered the world, and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men, because all sinned” (Romans 5:12). This death, i.e., decaying and passing away also affected the whole of creation, the creation also came under the bondage of corruption, i.e., under the process of decaying away and being destroyed. But once the “sons of God” are revealed, i.e. the children of God by faith in the Lord Jesus (John 1:12-13), then along with them, the creation will also be delivered from the corruption affecting it (Romans 8:19-22). The resurrection of the Lord Jesus demonstrates that the power of death, of corrupting and destroying God’s creation, has been brough to an end. The moment the Believers, through the same power of God that raised up the Lord Jesus, will be raised from the dead, and be transformed into their glorious bodies, the reign of death and decay will come to an end. Through the Lord Jesus Christ, and faith in Him, the Believers will come out victorious; since the Christian Believers have this hope and assurance from God, guaranteed by the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, therefore they should continually “abound in the work of the Lord” (1 Corinthians 15:52-58).

Secondly, through His Resurrection Christ Jesus has broken the fear and hold of death for His followers “Inasmuch then as the children have partaken of flesh and blood, He Himself likewise shared in the same, that through death He might destroy him who had the power of death, that is, the devil, and release those who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage” (Hebrews 2:14-15). No longer is death something to be feared, because for every Believer of Christ, for every Born-Again person, death is a door that ushers them into eternal bliss and blessings, into a place and eternity with God. Paul says “For to me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain. But if I live on in the flesh, this will mean fruit from my labor; yet what I shall choose I cannot tell. For I am hard pressed between the two, having a desire to depart and be with Christ, which is far better” (Philippians 1:21-23); and as he writes to the Corinthian Church that he is always well pleased to leave this body and be present with the Lord “So we are always confident, knowing that while we are at home in the body we are absent from the Lord. For we walk by faith, not by sight. We are confident, yes, well pleased rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord” (2 Corinthians 5:6-8).  

The death and Resurrection of Lord Jesus has ensured that for every one of His disciples, death is no longer something to be feared, but something to be eagerly looked forward to. Satan can no longer use the fear of death to cause them to falter and fall in their Christian life. Except for the Biblical Christian Faith, this assurance is not available to anyone, in any other faith, belief system, or religion; not even in the Christian religion. This is something that only comes because of the assurance of forgiveness of sins and promise of eternal life with God, through faith in the Lord Jesus, submission to Him, and living in obedience to Him and His Word the Bible.

In the next article we will consider the practical implications of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus.

If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord, make your decision in favor of the Lord Jesus now to ensure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. Where there is obedience to the Lord, where there is respect and obedience to His Word, there is also the blessing and protection of the Lord. Repenting of your sins, and asking the Lord Jesus for forgiveness of your sins, voluntarily and sincerely, surrendering yourself to Him - is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. You only have to say a short but sincere prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ willingly and with a penitent heart, and at the same time completely commit and submit your life to Him. You can also make this prayer and submission in words something like, “Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sins and repent of them. I thank you for taking my sins upon yourself, paying for them through your life.  Because of them you died on the cross in my place, were buried, and you rose again from the grave on the third day for my salvation, and today you are the living Lord God and have freely provided to me the forgiveness, and redemption from my sins, through faith in you. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands." Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.

परमेश्वर के वचन बाइबल के नए नियम खण्ड के मुख्य और प्रमुख पात्रों में से एक है प्रेरित पौलुस, जो प्रभु यीशु का अनुयायी बनने से पहले, शाऊल के नाम से जाना जाता था। पौलुस, जो तब शाऊल कहलाता था, एक फरीसी था, अर्थात, पौलुस पुराने नियम – जो उस समय के यहूदियों का पवित्र शास्त्र था और जिस का सन्दर्भ तथा हवाला प्रभु यीशु ने भी कई बार दिया है, का एक प्रशिक्षित विद्वान था। फरीसियों को बहुत गहन और कड़े प्रशिक्षण से होकर निकलना पड़ता था, और पौलुस को उस समय के सर्वोत्तम शिक्षकों में से एक, गमलिएल से शिक्षा मिली थी (प्रेरितों 5:34; 22:3)। पौलुस परमेश्वर की सेवा के लिए बहुत उत्साही और प्रतिबद्ध था, और प्रभु यीशु तथा उस के अनुयायियों को विधर्मी तथा परमेश्वर का विरोधी मानता था, और इसलिए प्रभु यीशु के अनुयायियों को सताने और मरवा भी डालने के प्रयासों में लगा रहता था (प्रेरितों 26:9-11)। प्रभु यीशु के अनुयायियों को पकड़ कर लाने के लिए, दमिश्क जाते समय पौलुस का सामना प्रभु यीशु मसीह से हुआ, और प्रभु से उस मुलाकात के बाद, पौलुस का जीवन पूर्णतः बदल गया, और वह प्रभु का कट्टर समर्थक बन गया, प्रभु के, तथा उसके सुसमाचार – जिस में प्रभु यीशु का पुनरुत्थान भी सम्मिलित है, के प्रचार के लिए कुछ भी और सब कुछ सहने के लिए तैयार हो गया (प्रेरितों 26:12-23)। पौलुस ने अपने मसीही विश्वास के लिए बहुत कुछ सहा (2 कुरिन्थियों 11:23-28), परन्तु प्रभु का अनुसरण और आज्ञाकारिता करने से कभी पीछे नहीं हटा, और अन्ततः अपने विश्वास के लिए जान भी दे दी। हमारे विषय से सम्बन्धित महत्वपूर्ण प्रश्न यह है कि, यदि प्रभु यीशु, प्रभु का जीवन, प्रभु की शिक्षाएँ, प्रभु के कार्य, प्रभु की मृत्यु, और प्रभु का जिलाया जाना, आदि, यदि झूठ था, तो फिर प्रभु के घोर विरोधी से प्रभु के कट्टर अनुयायी, पौलुस के परिवर्तन को कैसे समझा जा सकता है? कैसे, दमिश्क के मार्ग पर, प्रभु यीशु से हुई एक ही मुलाकात में, पौलुस का जीवन तुरन्त ही ऐसा बदल गया कि वह प्रभु के लिए कुछ भी और सभी कुछ सहने, और मरने तक के लिए तैयार हो गया? यह कैसे हुआ कि उत्साही पौलुस, पवित्र शास्त्र का एक प्रख्यात विद्वान, अब उसी पवित्र शास्त्र से प्रभु यीशु मसीह का समर्थन देखने, जानने, और सिखाने वाला बन गया, यह प्रचार करने वाला कि पवित्र शास्त्र में प्रतिज्ञा किया हुआ वह मसीहा यीशु ही है (प्रेरितों 9:22; 17:2-3; 18:5)? पौलुस का जीवन-परिवर्तन मसीही विश्वास, सुसमाचार, तथा प्रभु यीशु के पुनरुत्थान की पुष्टि के लिए एक बहुत बड़ा, अकाट्य, और इनकार न किया जा सकने वाला प्रमाण है।

क्योंकि सम्पूर्ण मसीही विश्वास इस एक पुनरुत्थान की घटना पर आधारित है, इस लिए यदि कोई पुनरुत्थान को गलत प्रमाणित कर दे तो वह मसीही विश्वास को झूठा प्रमाणित कर देगा। इसी लिए यह एक ऐसी चुनौती है जिसे बहुतों ने स्वीकार तो किया है, किन्तु पूरा कोई नहीं कर पाया है। प्रभु यीशु मसीह की खाली कब्र – समस्त सँसार के सम्पूर्ण इतिहास की एकमात्र कब्र जो खाली है, इस बात का प्रमाण है कि पवित्र शास्त्र और उस के दावे सच्चे हैं। प्रयास करने वाले अनेकों में से, सर विलियम रैमसे और ‘बेन हुर’ के लेखक ल्यू वौलेस ऐसे दो विख्यात व्यक्तियों के नाम हैं जिन्होंने, अलग-अलग समयों पर, मसीह तथा उस के पुनरुत्थान को झूठा प्रमाणित करने की चुनौती स्वीकार की। उन्होंने अपनी-अपनी खोज-बीन की, तथ्य एकत्रित किए, और जो उन्होंने पाया उस का विश्लेषण किया, और फिर इसी निष्कर्ष पर पहुँचे कि प्रभु यीशु मसीह, प्रभु की मृत्यु, प्रभु का पुनरुत्थान, ऐसी ऐतिहासिक बातें हैं जिन का इनकार नहीं किया जा सकता है, बाइबल के बाहर भी जिन के बारे में ठोस और अकाट्य प्रमाण विद्यमान हैं। इस के बाद सर विलियम रैमसे बाइबल के एक विख्यात और महान विद्वान बने, और उनकी लिखी पुस्तकें आज, लगभग सौ वर्ष बाद भी, सँसार भर के बाइबल प्रशिक्षण संस्थानों में उपयोग की जाती हैं। ल्यू वौलेस ने अपने शोध के आधार पर एक प्रसिद्ध उपन्यास ‘बेन हुर’ लिखा, जिस में प्रभु यीशु मसीह और उस के पृथ्वी के समय के जीवन, तथा प्रभु में लाए गए विश्वास की सामर्थ्य को एक कहानी के रूप में सँसार के सामने प्रस्तुत किया गया है। मसीहियत के इतिहास में, इन दोनों के समान, असंख्य लोगों ने प्रभु यीशु, प्रभु की मृत्यु, और पुनरुत्थान को झूठा प्रमाणित करने के प्रयास किए हैं, किन्तु उन्हें जो प्रमाण मिले वे प्रभु के पक्ष के ही थे, उस के विरुद्ध नहीं, अकाट्य थे, और यह दिखाते थे कि मसीही विश्वास का इनकार नहीं किया जा सकता है। इस लिए उन्होंने अपने विरोध को त्याग दिया, और प्रभु यीशु मसीह तथा मसीही विश्वास के अनुयायी बन गए।

न केवल सर विलियम रैमसे और ल्यू वौलेस, बल्कि सँसार भर में असंख्य अन्य लोगों ने, पिछले 2000 वर्षों से अधिक समय से, अर्थात, प्रभु यीशु के द्वारा इस पृथ्वी पर अपनी सेवकाई आरम्भ करने से लेकर अभी तक, प्रभु यीशु मसीह के सुसमाचार और पुनरुत्थान के जीवन बदल देने वाले इसी प्रभाव को अनुभव किया है, जीवित प्रभु की उपस्थिति को अपने जीवन में महसूस किया है। प्रभु यीशु मसीह का पुनरुत्थान और मसीही विश्वास का प्रचार कोई आरम्भिक रोमांचक कहानी नहीं थी, जो समय के साथ और उस के विरुद्ध उठे घोर प्रतिरोध के सामने ठन्डे पड़ गए और विलुप्त हो गए। बल्कि यह आज तक न केवल दृढ़ बनी हुई बात है, वरन और बढ़ती जा रही है, स्थापित होती चली जा रही है, सारे सँसार भर में इस के विरुद्ध बढ़ते हुए प्रतिरोध और सताव के बावजूद, यह और भी अधिक अनुयायियों को एकत्रित करती चली जा रही है, और जो भी इसे स्वीकार करते हैं, उन के जीवनों को बदल रही है। यदि बाइबल में वर्णित वास्तविक मसीही विश्वास, किसी की कल्पना की गढ़ी हुई कहानी होता तो जितना घोर और विभिन्न प्रकार का प्रतिरोध और सताव उसे सहना पड़ा है, उस के सामने टिक नहीं पाता, समाप्त हो जाता। आज भी मसीही विश्वास का प्रतिरोध और सताव सारे सँसार भर में ज़ारी है, यहाँ तक कि “ईसाई” कहलाए जाने वाले देशों में भी, किन्तु मसीही विश्वास और पुनरुत्थान का समर्थन कम नहीं हुआ है, अभी भी लोग उस में जुड़ते जा रहे हैं। सभी प्रकार के विरोध और सताव के बावजूद अपने समस्त इतिहास में इस की निरन्तर बढ़ोतरी और उन्नति इस के सत्यों और तथ्यों का एक ठोस प्रमाण है।

अगले लेख में हम तीसरे शीर्षक – प्रभु यीशु का पुनरुत्थान परमेश्वर की सामर्थ्य है, पर विचार करना आरंभ करेंगे।

Lord Jesus’s Resurrection – Proven (4)

 

We are learning about “Resurrection of the Dead,” the fifth of the six elementary principles given in Hebrews 6:1-2. We have seen that the resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ is the basis of the truly Born-Again Christian Believer’s assurance that he too will be resurrected from the dead, and will be with the Lord God forever in heaven. Therefore, it is necessary for every Christian Believer to learn about the Lord Jesus’s resurrection, not only to learn about their own eternal future, but to also be able to counter the false stories spread by Satan against the Lord’s resurrection. We are studying about the Lord’s resurrection under three headings: it is prophesied in the Scriptures; it is a proven event; it is the power of God. We have seen the first one, and are presently considering the second heading. To affirm that the Lord’s resurrection is a proven event, we have seen the various satanic false stories that have been spread against resurrection, and seen how none of them stand up to the Biblical facts about the resurrection. Then, in the last article, we saw about some extra-Biblical historical accounts that mention the resurrection of the Lord Jesus. Today we will consider some other facts, Biblical and extra-Biblical, that affirm the resurrection of the Lord Jesus.

One of the main and very prominent characters of the New Testament section of God’s Word the Bible is the Apostle Paul, who was known as Saul before his becoming a disciple of Christ. Paul, then known as Saul, was a Pharisee, i.e., a trained scholar of the Old Testament – which is the Scripture of the Jews, one that even the Lord Jesus referred to and spoke about on numerous occasions. The Pharisees had to undergo a very rigorous training, and Paul had been trained under Gamaliel, one of the best teachers of that time (Acts 5:34; 22:3). Paul was very zealous for serving God, and considered the Christians and the Lord Jesus as blasphemers against God, he therefore set out to persecute the followers of Lord Jesus even to death (Acts 26:9-11). While going to Damascus, to catch and bring the followers of the Lord Jesus, the Lord Jesus appeared to Paul; after his encounter with the Lord, Paul’s life changed totally, and he became a staunch follower of the Lord, willing to suffer anything and everything for His sake and for preaching the gospel of the Lord, which included the resurrection of the Lord Jesus (Acts 26:12-23); Paul suffered greatly for his faith and preaching, but never ever turned away from following the Lord (2 Corinthians 11:23-28), and was eventually martyred for his faith. The question, relevant to our topic is, if the Lord Jesus, His life, His works, His teachings, His death, and His resurrection were false, then how does one account for the conversation of Paul from being a bitter opponent to being a staunch follower of the Lord, willing to suffer anything and everything for Him and even die for Him, after only one meeting with Him on the road to Damascus? How is it that the eminent scholar of the Scriptures, Paul the zealous Pharisee, could now, from those very Scriptures see, show, and preach that the Lord Jesus is the same promised Messiah of the Scriptures (Acts 9:22; 17:2-3; 18:5)? The conversion of Paul is a very strong undeniable, and incontrovertible proof of the veracity of the Christian Faith, the gospel, and the resurrection of the Lord Jesus.

Since the whole of the Christian Faith stands on this one event i.e., the Lord’s resurrection, therefore, if anyone can disprove the Resurrection, he can disprove Christianity. This is a challenge that many have taken but none has succeeded. The empty tomb of the Lord Jesus - the only tomb that is empty to date in the entire history of the entire world, is proof before the world of the truth of the Scriptures and its claims. Besides many others, Sir William Ramsey and Lew Wallace of "Ben Hur" fame are two notable persons who, at different times, went out taking the challenge to disprove Christ and His resurrection; they collected and then analyzed their evidences and facts, and then each came to the conclusion that the person, death, and resurrection of Christ Jesus are undeniable events that have incontrovertible proof even outside of the Bible. Sir William Ramsey went on to become a great Bible scholar whose works are still taught in Bible Seminaries all over the world for more than a hundred years now. Lew Wallace, on the basis of his research and then his conversion to Christianity wrote the famous classic “Ben Hur,” presenting as a story, the life and times of Lord Jesus and the power of faith in Him. Throughout the history of Christianity, many others like them have set out to disprove the person, death, and resurrection of the Lord Jesus, only to find that the evidence in favor of the Lord Jesus and the Christian Faith is undeniable and incontrovertible; they gave up their antagonism and changed to become followers of the Lord Jesus and the Christian Faith.

Not just Paul, Sir William Ramsey, and Lew Wallace, but countless others all over the world, over the past over 2000 years, i.e., since the time the Lord Jesus began His ministry on earth have experienced the same life-changing effect of the gospel and the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, and have experienced the presence of the Living Lord in their lives. The preaching of the Lord’s resurrection and the propagation of the Christian Faith was not an initial fad, that fizzled out with time and in the face of the bitter onslaught the world brought against it; rather, it has not only persisted, but has continued to grow and become stronger in the face of opposition and persecution, all over the world. It has continued to acquire followers despite severe persecution, and to change the lives of those who believe and accept it. Had true Biblical Christianity been a figment of someone’s imagination, it could never have survived the vehement opposition it has faced in so many forms, and still continues to face all over the world, even in the so called “christian" countries. Its survival and growth despite every possible kind of opposition and persecution throughout its history affirms its truth and claims.

In the next article we will consider the third heading – the resurrection of the Lord Jesus is the power of God.

Where there is obedience to the Lord, where there is respect and obedience to His Word, there is also the blessing and protection of the Lord. I thank you for taking my sins upon yourself, paying for them through your life.  Because of them you died on the cross in my place, were buried, and you rose again from the grave on the third day for my salvation, and today you are the living Lord God and have freely provided to me the forgiveness, and redemption from my sins, through faith in you. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands." Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.

हम प्रभु यीशु के मृतकों में से जिलाए जाने के तात्पर्यों को, इब्रानियों 6:1-2 में दी गई छः आरंभिक बातों में से पाँचवीं, “मरे हुओं का जी उठना” के संदर्भ में सीख रहे हैं। हम देख चुके हैं कि प्रभु का जिलाया जाना भविष्यवाणी किया हुआ था, वर्तमान में हम देख रहे हैं कि वह एक प्रमाणित घटना है, और इस के बाद हम देखेंगे कि यह परमेश्वर की सामर्थ्य है। प्रभु यीशु का पुनरुत्थान प्रत्येक नया जन्म पाए हुए मसीही विश्वासी का पुनरुत्थान होने का भी निश्चय, तथा मसीही विश्वास की धुरी भी है। प्रभु यीशु के पुनरुत्थान के बिना मसीही विश्वास का कोई आधार नहीं है। इसीलिए उस पर अविश्वास या सन्देह उत्पन्न करने के लिए शैतान ने उस के विरुद्ध इतनी सारी झूठी कहानियाँ फैला रखीं हैं। पिछले दो लेखों में हमने इन फैलाई गई मन-गढ़न्त कहानियों के बारे में देखा था कि कैसे वे उन से सम्बन्धित बाइबल के तथ्यों के सामने टिक नहीं पाती हैं। प्रभु यीशु के मृतकों में से जी उठने की पुष्टि न केवल परमेश्वर के वचन बाइबल से होती है, वरन बाइबल के बाहर के कुछ ऐतिहासिक लेखों से, तथा बाइबल के बाहर के कुछ अन्य तथ्यों से भी होती है। आज हम बाइबल के बाहर के  कुछ ऐतिहासिक लेखों के बारे में देखेंगे जो प्रभु के पुनरुत्थान की पुष्टि करते हैं:

·        जोसिफस (37-100 ईस्वी), एक यहूदी इतिहासकार था, जिसने अपने लेख “Jewish Antiquities” में लिखा है कि “अब इस समय के लगभग यीशु, जो एक ज्ञानी मनुष्य था, यदि उसे मनुष्य कहना उचित है तो, क्योंकि वह अद्भुत कार्यों का करने वाला था, उन का शिक्षक था जो सत्य को सहर्ष ग्रहण करते हैं। उस की ओर बहुत से यहूदी और अन्यजाति आकर्षित हुए। वह मसीह था। और जब पिलातुस ने, हमारे प्रधान लोगों के कहने से उस क्रूस पर मारे जाने के लिए दे दिया, तो उस से प्रेम करने वालों ने उसे छोड़ नहीं दिया; क्योंकि वह तीसरे दिन फिर से उन के सामने जीवित प्रकट हुआ, जैसा कि ईश्वरीय भविष्यद्वक्ताओं ने उस के बारे में इन तथा और दस हज़ार बातों की भविष्यवाणियाँ की थीं। और उस के नाम से मसीही कहलाए गए लोगों का समूह आज भी मिटा नहीं है।”

·        छोटा प्लिनी (61-113 ईस्वी), प्राचीन रोम में एक वकील, लेखक, और एक न्यायाधीश था। उस ने 111 ईस्वी, में सम्राट ट्राजन को लिखे अपने एक पत्र में मसीहियों के, इतवार की प्रातः यीशु के मरे हों में से जी उठने की याद में, एकत्रित होने का वर्णन किया। उस ने लिखा कि “मैं कभी भी मसीहियों की जाँच किए जाने के समय उपस्थित नहीं रहा हूँ। इसलिए मुझे उन्हें दिए जाने वाले दण्ड के बारे में पता नहीं है कि वह किस प्रकार का और कितना घोर होता है, न ही मुझे यह पता है कि उन के विरुद्ध जाँच किए जाने का क्या आधार होता है और वह कितना लागू किया जाना चाहिए...।उन्होंने यह भी कहा है कि उनके दोष का कुल योग यही है कि वे एक नियमित रीति से एक निर्धारित दिन (यीशु की जिलाए जाने की याद में इतवार), प्रातः भोर से पहले एकत्रित होते हैं, कि वे मसीह को आदर देने के लिए एक से दूसरे को कुछ पद बोलें, जैसे किसी देवता के लिए बोल रहे हों।”

·        गायस सूतोनियुस (70-160 ईस्वी) एक रोमी इतिहासकार था जिस ने रोमी साम्राज्य के आरम्भिक समय में लेख लिखे थे। उस ने सम्राट नीरो की जीवनी “वीटा नीरो” में मसीहियों पर सताव का उल्लेख किया है, और अप्रत्यक्ष रूप में पुनरुत्थान का संदर्भ दिया है: “मसीहियों को ताड़ना दी जाती थी, वे मनुष्यों की ऐसी श्रेणी थे जो एक नए और नुकसान पहुंचाने वाले अन्धविश्वास [पुनरुत्थान] को मानते थे”।

अगले लेख में हम कुछ और तथ्यों और तर्कों पर विचार करेंगे जो प्रभु यीशु के पुनरुत्थान की पुष्टि करते हैं ।

We are learning the implications of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, in context of the fifth elementary principle, “Resurrection of the Dead” given in Hebrews 6:1-2. We have seen that the Lord’s resurrection was a prophesied event, we are now considering that it is a proven event, and then we will be taking up that it is the power of God. The resurrection of the Lord guarantees the resurrection of the truly Born-Again Christian Believers, and is the pivotal event for the Christian Faith. Without the resurrection of the Lord, there is no basis for the Christian Faith; hence Satan has spread so many false stories to try to disprove or create doubts about the fact of the Lord’s resurrection. In the previous two articles we have considered the various concocted stories that have been spread around and how they do not stand up to the Biblical facts pertaining to them. The resurrection of the Lord Jesus is not just affirmed by God’s Word the Bible, but it is also affirmed by extra-Biblical historical accounts and some other non-Biblical facts. Today we will look at the extra-Biblical historical accounts that affirm the Lord’s resurrection:

• Josephus (AD 37-100), was a Jewish historian, he has written in his “Jewish Antiquities” that “Now there was about this time Jesus, a wise man, if it be lawful to call him a man; for he was a doer of wonderful works, a teacher of such men as receive the truth with pleasure. He drew over to him both many of the Jews and many of the Gentiles. He was [the] Christ. And when Pilate, at the suggestion of the principal men among us, had condemned him to the cross, those that loved him at the first did not forsake him; for he appeared to them alive again the third day, as the divine prophets had foretold these and ten thousand other wonderful things concerning him. And the tribe of Christians, so named from him, are not extinct at this day.”

• Pliny the Younger (AD 61-113), a lawyer, author, and Magistrate in Ancient Rome, in his letter written to the Roman Emperor Trajan in AD 111, described early Christian gatherings on Sunday mornings, in memory of Jesus’s resurrection. He wrote: “I have never been present at an examination of Christians. Consequently, I do not know the nature of the extent of the punishments usually meted out to them, nor the grounds for starting an investigation and how far it should be pressed…They also declared that the sum total of their guilt or error amounted to no more than this: they had met regularly before dawn on a fixed day [Sunday in remembrance of Jesus’ resurrection] to chant verses alternately amongst themselves in honor of Christ as if to a god.”

• Gaius Suetonius (AD 70-160) was a Roman historian who wrote during the early Imperial times of the Roman Empire. In his biography of Emperor Nero, “Vita Nero,” Suetonius mentions the persecution of Christians by indirectly referring to the resurrection: “Punishment was inflicted on the Christians, a class of men given to a new and mischievous superstition [the resurrection].”

इब्रानियों 6:1-2 में दी गई आरंभिक बातों में से पाँचवीं, मरे हुओं का जी उठना, उन सभी  मसीही विश्वासियों के लिए जिन्होंने वास्तव में नया-जन्म पाया है, इसी लिए एक निर्धारित तथ्य है, क्योंकि प्रभु यीशु मरे हुओं में से जी उठा है। प्रभु यीशु मसीह का मृतकों में से जी उठना, मसीही विश्वास की धुरी है; यदि प्रभु यीशु मरे हुओं में से जिलाया नहीं गया तो फिर उस के अनुयायियों के जिलाए जाने और अनन्त काल तक उस के साथ स्वर्ग में रहने का भी कोई आश्वासन नहीं है। क्योंकि प्रभु का पुनरुत्थान मसीही विश्वास तथा सुसमाचार के लिए परम-महत्व की घटना है, इस लिए मसीही विश्वासियों को उस के बारे में सीखना और उस के अभिप्रायों को समझना अनिवार्य है। वर्तमान में हम प्रभु के पुनरुत्थान के तात्पर्यों पर तीन शीर्षकों के अन्तर्गत विचार कर रहे हैं: यह भविष्यवाणी किया हुआ है; यह प्रमाणित है; और यह परमेश्वर की सामर्थ्य है। मसीही विश्वास के लिए प्रभु के पुनरुत्थान के केन्द्रीय महत्व का होने के कारण, शैतान ने प्रभु के जी उठने के दिन और समय से ही उस के बारे में झूठी कहानियाँ फैलाना आरम्भ कर दिया था, कि किसी तरह से लोगों में इस बात के सही और सत्य होने के प्रति अविश्वास या सन्देह उत्पन्न करे। पिछले लेख में हम ने शैतान द्वारा, अपने उद्देश्य को पूरा करने के लिए फैलाई गई कुछ झूठी कहानियों के बारे में देखा था; आज भी हम इसी बात को ज़ारी रखेंगे, और उस के द्वारा प्रभु यीशु के जी उठने को गलत दिखाने के उद्देश्य से फैलाई गई कुछ अन्य झूठी कहानियों के बारे में देखेंगे।

·                  एक कहानी यह भी कही जाती है कि प्रभु यीशु मसीह को क्रूस पर नहीं चढ़ाया गया, वरन उसके स्थान पर उसके जैसा दिखने वाला कोई व्यक्ति चढ़ा दिया गया। किन्तु ध्यान कीजिए कि जिसे यहूदियों ने पूरे लश्कर के साथ जाकर पकड़ा; सारी रात से एक से दूसरी कचहरी में घसीटते रहे, मारते-पीटते रहे, यदि वह यीशु नहीं था, तो फिर उसे दिन चढ़े छोड़ क्यों नहीं दिया गया? रोमी अधिकारी पिलातुस ने भी यीशु को जाँचा, पहचाना कि वह निर्दोष है, उसे छोड़ने के भरसक प्रयास किए, अन्ततः फिर कोड़े लगाने के लिए और क्रूस पर चढ़ाने के लिए अपने सैनिकों को सौंप दिया। और यदि उन्होंने वास्तव में प्रभु यीशु ही को पकड़ा था, तो फिर प्रभु उनके हाथों से कब और कैसे बच निकला? और जिस व्यक्ति को उसके स्थान पर क्रूस पर चढ़ाया गया, वह व्यक्ति अकारण ही क्यों चुपचाप यह सब कुछ सहता रहा, और फिर क्रूस पर भी चढ़ गया? और फिर क्रूस पर से कहे गए सात वचनों के साथ कैसे इस बात का तालमेल बैठा सकते हैं, यदि प्रभु वहाँ था यही नहीं? और ये सात वचन कोई साधारण वचन नहीं है, वरन चकित कर देने वाले हैं  – प्रभु द्वारा अपने सताने वालों को क्षमा करना, वहाँ उपस्थित यूहन्ना को अपनी माता को सौंपना, साथ टंगे हुए डाकू को क्षमा और स्वर्ग का आश्वासन देना, वचन में लिखी उस के विषय की भविष्यवाणियों पर ध्यान करके उन्हें पूरा करना, परमेश्वर को पिता कहना, आदि बातें कोई साधारण मनुष्य कैसे कह सकता या पूरा कर सकता था? साथ ही यीशु की माता मरियम और प्रभु का शिष्य यूहन्ना वहाँ थे, सब देख रहे थे, वे कैसे धोखा खा सकते थे? प्रभु यीशु ने अपनी माँ को यूहन्ना के हाथों में सौंपा था, यही क्रूस पर यीशु ही के होने की पुष्टि करता है (यूहन्ना 19:25-27)। 

·                  कुछ अन्य कहते हैं कि प्रभु मरा नहीं था, केवल बेहोश हुआ था, फिर कब्र में ठण्डे में विश्राम करने के बाद वह होश में आया, और कब्र में से बाहर आ गया। विचार कीजिए, जिस बेरहमी से प्रभु को क्रूस पर चढ़ाने से पहले उसे मारा-पीटा गया था, उसके शरीर में अपना क्रूस उठाकर पूरे रास्ते चलने की सामर्थ्य भी शेष नहीं रही थी, फिर हाथों-पैरों में कील ठोंके गए, छाती में भाला मारा गया (यूहन्ना 19:34), और सैनिकों ने पुष्टि की, कि वह मर गया है, इसलिए उसकी टांगें नहीं तोड़ीं (यूहन्ना 19:32-33) – इन सभी प्रमाणों के होते हुए, यह कैसे मान लिया जाए कि यीशु मरा नहीं था, केवल बेहोश हुआ था? प्रकट है कि यह कहानी पूर्णतः निराधार है। और फिर तीन दिन कब्र में लहूलुहान और बिना भोजन या पानी के पड़े रहने के बाद किस मनुष्य के शरीर में यह शक्ति बचेगी कि वह 50 सेर मसालों के लेप और लपेटे हुए कपड़े (यूहन्ना 19:39-40) को खोल कर, अपने कीलों से छेदे हुए हाथों और पैरों तथा बेधी हुई छाती के साथ कब्र के मुँह पर लुढ़काए गए भारी पत्थर को हटा कर बाहर आ जाए, पहरेदारों को भी भगा दे, और चलकर वहाँ से चला जाए। 

·                  एक अन्य कहानी है कि शिष्यों ने अपनी मनःस्थिति के कारण, प्रभु की आत्मा को देखा था न कि उसके जी उठे शरीर को। प्रभु ने स्वयं ही इस धारणा का खण्डन प्रदान किया – लूका 24:38-43; और थोमा को भी आमंत्रित किया कि वह अपनी रखी गई शर्त के अनुसार उसके घावों को छू कर देख ले (यूहन्ना 20:26-27)। और प्रभु चालीस दिन तक अलग-अलग लोगों को अलग-अलग स्थानों पर दिखाई देता रहा, उनके साथ बात करता रहा; एक साथ पाँच सौ से अधिक शिष्यों को भी दिखाई दिया (1 कुरिन्थियों 15:5-8) – क्या सभी एक ही भ्रम के शिकार थे; और इस भ्रम के कारण अपनी जान पर भी खेलकर प्रचार करने से नहीं रुके? क्या एक भ्रम के लिए वे शिष्य अपने उस अनुभव के बाद उस के लिए दुःख उठाने और मारे जाने को भी तैयार हो गए। जिस ने प्रभु का अनुभव कर लिया है, वह उससे पलट नहीं सकता है। 

जब हम प्रभु यीशु की मृत्यु और पुनरुत्थान का इनकार करने के प्रयासों पर विचार करते हैं, और पवित्र शास्त्र के तथ्यों के आधार पर उन मन-गढ़न्त कहानियों का विश्लेषण करते हैं, तो यह प्रकट हो जाता है कि बाइबल के तथ्यों के सामने कोई भी कहानी खड़ी नहीं रह सकती है। अगले लेख में हम बाइबल से बाहर की कुछ बातों को देखेंगे जो प्रभु यीशु के पुनरुत्थान की पुष्टि करती हैं।

यदि आपने प्रभु की शिष्यता को अभी तक स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी प्रभु यीशु के पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु, मैं अपने पापों के लिए पश्चातापी हूँ, उनके लिए आप से क्षमा माँगता हूँ। मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मुझे और मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी।

Resurrection of the Dead – 4

Lord Jesus’s Resurrection – Proven (2)

 

The resurrection of the dead, the fifth of the six elementary principles given in Hebrews 6:1-2, is assured for those Christian Believers who truly are Born-Again, because of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus from the dead. The Lord Jesus’s resurrection is the pivotal event for the Christian Faith; if the Lord Jesus did not rise from the dead, then there is no assurance for His followers of rising from the dead and being with Him in heaven for eternity. Since the resurrection of the Lord is of paramount importance for the Christian Faith and gospel, therefore, the Christian Believers must learn and understand it and its implications well. We are presently considering the implications of the Lord’s resurrection under three headings: that it was prophesied; it is proven; and it is the power of God. Of these three, we had seen the first one, and presently are considering the second, i.e., it is a well-established and proven event. Because of its crucial importance for the Christian Faith, Satan, from the very day and time of the Lord’s resurrection, started spreading false stories about it, to try to negate it and create doubts in people’s hearts about its veracity. In the last article we had seen some of the false stories planted by Satan to achieve his purposes; today we will continue with the same theme and see some other false stories that he has spread around to try and falsify the fact of the Lord’s resurrection.

·        Another story that is told is that the Lord Jesus was not crucified, but in His place, someone else of a similar appearance was crucified. Think it over, He whom the Jews had gone and caught with a large armed contingent, then dragged Him from one court to another throughout the night, had Him severely beaten up, if he wasn’t Jesus, then why did they not release Him and let Him go at daybreak? The Roman Governor Pilate also examined Lord Jesus, talked with Him, realized that He was innocent, and tried his utmost to have him released, but in vain, and so eventually had Him scourged and handed Him over to the Jews to be crucified. On the other hand, if they had actually caught Lord Jesus, then when and how could Jesus escape out of their hands? Moreover, the person who was crucified in His place, why would he, being innocent, silently, without any protest, suffer all this and let himself be crucified? How can they reconcile Jesus’s seven Words from the Cross with His not even being there; and the seven Words are not ordinary statements but astounding ones - forgiving His enemies tormenting Him, handing over His mother to His disciple John present there, assuring the thief crucified with Him of forgiveness and salvation, fulfilling the prophecies about Him written in the Scriptures, addressing God as Father, etc. are things that no mere mortal can say or fulfill! Moreover, Jesus’s mother Mary and His disciple John were there, witnessing everything, how could they be deceived about it? That the Lord Jesus handed over His mother to John from the cross (John 19:25-27) by itself proves that the one crucified was the Lord Jesus Himself.

·        Some others say that the Lord Jesus did not die on the cross, but only became unconscious; later in the cool of the tomb, He regained consciousness, and then walked out of the tomb. Just think it over, before being crucified he was severely beaten up and then scourged, He did not even have the strength to carry His cross all the way; He was then nailed to the cross with the nails through His hands and feet, and His chest was pierced with a spear (John 19:34), then the soldiers also confirmed that He had died, therefore, they did not break His legs (John 19:32-33) - having so many proofs and affirmation, how can it be accepted that Jesus never died, he only became unconscious? It is quite evident that this is a baseless, concocted story. Moreover, how can a man lying for three days in the tomb, bleeding from the wounds, without any food or water, and without any help, have the ability and strength to unwrap and extricate himself from the cloth he was wrapped in along with 100 pounds of mixture of myrrh and aloes, using his hands pierced with nails, then walk out on feet pierced with nails, and push open the stone that had been placed over the mouth of the grave with the pierced hands, side, and feet, chase away the guards at the grave, and just walk away?

·        Another concocted story is that the disciples, because of their terrified mental condition, only imagined that they saw the Lord Jesus, or maybe His spirit or ghost but not His resurrected body. The Lord Jesus Himself provided the against this false notion in Luke 24:38-43, and also invited Thomas to examine Him and His wounds as he had wanted to do, and settle his doubts (John 20:26-27). The Lord, after His resurrection, appeared to different people at different times and at different places, talked with them, and once appeared to more than five hundred disciples at one time (1 Corinthians 15:5-8) - were all of these under the same delusion? If they were under a delusion, would they have been able to jeopardize their lives to preach the gospel the way they did; and were willing to even die for it? The person who has experienced the Lord Jesus personally, can never turn away from his experience, never deny it.

When we consider the attempts to deny the death and resurrection of the Lord Jesus, and analyze the concocted stories in light of the Scriptural evidence, it becomes clear that none of the stories can stand up to the Biblical facts. In the next article we will consider some extra-Biblical facts in support of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus.

If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord, make your decision in favor of the Lord Jesus now to ensure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. Where there is obedience to the Lord, where there is respect and obedience to His Word, there is also the blessing and protection of the Lord. Repenting of your sins, and asking the Lord Jesus for forgiveness of your sins, voluntarily and sincerely, surrendering yourself to Him - is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. You only have to say a short but sincere prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ willingly and with a penitent heart, and at the same time completely commit and submit your life to Him. You can also make this prayer and submission in words something like, “Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sins and repent of them. I thank you for taking my sins upon yourself, paying for them through your life.  Because of them you died on the cross in my place, were buried, and you rose again from the grave on the third day for my salvation, and today you are the living Lord God and have freely provided to me the forgiveness, and redemption from my sins, through faith in you. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands." Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.
